  1. I got my 1st fill Nov. 6th. I believe my band only holds 5 cc so my Dr. gave me 2.5 I went to eat right after my fill and was able to eat cottage cheese. Since I was still hungry I had a few nachos from my dates plate at the Yardhouse... I was not restriced to liquids or mushies. I felt a little restriction while I was getting the injection and it beagn to fade. I was able to eat the next day in the morning & in the afternoon. I didn't feel too much restriction & I still don't. As long as I chew it well, it will go down. I get my 2nd fill Dec 4th hopefully it will be tighter... Don't forget, everyone is different though.
  2. I've never been a big soda drinker & after the surgery I was scared to drink any at all. Until by mistake I took a gulp of my son's and it didn't bother me at. I still don't drink them but if I wanted to I believe I could without problems. I did however have a glass of Champagne in Paris last week... & no problems...
  3. I was not expecting my fill to hurt. Although it went smooth under x-ray, it felt like I got stabbed... I don't look forward to my next one on the 4th but I won't stop now. Any suggestions other than numbing the area? Am I the only one who has experienced pain during a fill?
  4. I was not expecting my fill to hurt. Although it went smooth under x-ray, it felt like I got stabbed... I don't look forward to my next one on the 4th but I won't stop now. Any suggestions other than numbing the area? Am I the only one who has experienced pain during a fill?
  5. I go today to TJ for my 1st fill! I'm excited since I am getting hungrier everyday. I dropped weight but I do not know how much. I chose not to weigh myself until today with Dr Carmen.
  6. I too liked the recipies! THX!!!
  7. Im not too sure bout that one... I drank Isopure clear protien drinks during my 1st wk & I really think I helped me drop weight faster. I had a BMI of 31 to start & knew my loss would be slow. Why wait? I'd get a second opinion...
  8. I too had an incision that wouldn't heal. It was the largest one of them all (camera hole). People kept saying it was infected & since it was done in TJ I had no one to ask other than my own insurance/physician. I cleaned it with alcohol & peroxide daily, still ooze. So, I started taking penicillin I had in my medicine cabinet. Then 2 days ago I put fresh aloe on it & it was like magic, its dry! I don't know why I didn't think of Aloe sooner....
  9. I'm only 2 wks & 2 days out & I'm to start mushies and I feel I can eat a whole lot more. I'm scared to start eatting too because I'm afraid it will bring cravings back & all the hard work will have been for nothing. I get a fill Nov. 6th and can't wait.
  10. I was told not to diet. But, for myself I fasted 48 prior to surgery. Fresh veggie juice day 1 and Water day 2. I think I didn't have to diet because my BMI was low. But, I can also say I am feeling great with no complications! Go with yuor gut. Good luck!
  11. I didn't have any catheter or tubes when i woke up & am not even sure there were any ever other than in my throat...maybe, but I'm not 100%
  12. That is so wonderful for you! I have only lost 10 pounds but I only did a 48 hr fast pre surgery & I only have 30-40 to lose. I understand it will take longer for me and I'm ok with that. I'm sad to see my boobs shrink as well but that too was expected so I am thinking of an augmentation next year. I returned to work 1 week after gurgery and I could tell right away my uniform was not as tight as before. It definetely is a huge motivator! Can't wait till my 1st fill. Unfortunately it won't be until mid-Nov. since I am going to Europe & I don't want complications abroad... Good Luck! We are on our way!!! BTW: you know you are our big sister since you went Oct 1st, right?
  13. I too felt the same way the day of & I asked myself did I want to keep looking like this.... & made up my mind. I think everyone has last min jitters especially if you go to Mexico! I'm very happy and already see results. I feel my clothes much looser.
  14. That's what I read too but I wasn't sure if 4cc's was correct... I guess it must be. Sweet, I was hoping for a small band so that I didn't need too many fills... I guess I will try 3.2 cc's. Thx!
  15. What part of MX? With who? And, where will you fill? Thx! Me: Dr. Corvala, TJ, MX (fills will be in TJ too)
  16. Erika, Which band did you get & how many cc does it hold? I have the Inamed, & was told it is 10cm but I'm not sure how much it holds in cc's. How was your restriction after your 1st fill?

The key word is moderation. You figure 100 cals for every shot & 100 cals for 5 oz of wine... Don't forget the calories in the mixers. You do the math.
  18. I went to MX for $6250 & fills are included during the 1st yr. You only pay $100 for x-rays...

I'm game if you get enough people together! And, the price is right...
  20. I can realte. I get so burned up when people tell me I don't need it... I have been on every diet since jr. high school. I lost, I gained. I love food & can't stop eatting. I needed something to mk me feel full before I over do it. I eat cause I don't want to throw it away... I eat cause I'm board or want to try something new. I don't expect to lose too fast either but I a sure am gonna keep the torch lit. I didn't pay 6K for nothing... Which Dr did you see in MX?
  21. I'm still on liquids until Sat. I am starting to get hungry even though I have a protien shake in the am... I juice fresh veggies (carrots, celery, cucumber, beets, jicima, apple). I was board of the broth... I think I have too much time on my hands & that's the reason I was banded in the 1st place (boardom eatting). Hopefully after I return to wk tonight I will feel better & be busy. I haven't started to work out, I don't want to pop a stich. Any ideas on when a good time to start is?
  22. I'm day 8 post op. No pain whatsoever. I learned how to blow the air out of my chest (which only happens when I consume) when i feel preasure. I am ready to return to work. :tt1: I am afraid I am starting to get hungry though. I only did a 48 hr fast prior to my surgery, and I am still on liquids until Sat. :tt2: I want to get my $ worth since I am a self pay I hope I didn't throw it in the toilet... I am going to Europe the 2nd wk of Nov. and won't get a fill until I return, I sure hope I can remain strong!
  23. I agree & bought a tub, but for your 1st week it was a God send... Where else are you gonna get 40 grams of protien on a liquid diet?
  24. Hernia's seem to be a common thread in obesity/over eatting...
  25. My experience hass been that it's not that anyone has been mean, just less responses and replies when your BMI is low...
