WooHoo!:tongue: I am going to be self paying.. and I got the call today that my loan has been approved! I am so excited. I have been fighting my insurance company for months and months - and I got sick of it. It took 2 days to get the approval from the bank about the loan. :rolleyes2: So Ive made some calls - and I have arranged for Dr. Ariel Ortiz to do my surgery. I have to set my date - but I am 'ON MY WAY'!!! I guess the next phase is to start my diet. I was told to lose atleast 5% of my body weight. Which is about 14lbs. What did everyone do to lose the weight before surgery?:biggrin:

thank you..this did help i have called the office for Dr. Ariel Ortiz. The woman I spoke to was very nice. So - I am getting excited. Right now - I am in the process of getting financed. So if all goes well - I will be going there! :biggrin: I just hope everything works out. I am still looking around - but I have heard great things about Dr. Ortiz.

I am thinking about this right now - and I am getting nervous from some of the post that I have read. So - Why did you all choose the lap band over getting gastric bypass?
