2 Days out, can I be hungry already?
As Queen Fig stated you should get used to it. I'm one fill in (6weeks out of surgery) and still hungry! It's everything I can do to maintain and not gain. Can be depressing but sometimes it takes 5-6 fills to get true restriction. Best wishes!!!

Did the film "Shallow Hal" offend anyone?
LOL! I'm sorry but this was too funny!!!

why do i feel like this? =/
I think you should talk to someone face to face. I agree with a previous poster about looking into some therapy that's on a sliding scale according to what you can pay. I go to therapy once a week and it reallllllllllllly helps to have a "sounding board". Please think about it. You sound so sad and confused. I will continue my prayers for you. Best wishes always!!!!

4 months post op/ 3 fills and NO restriction
AHHHHH! Sweet restriction!!! Can't wait!!!

Monkey on my back
JoJo, you give me hope that one day food won't control me but I'll control it! I was banded Dec. 16th and have had one fill and little to no restriction. I will get another 1.5 ccs on Monday, totaling 4.5 ccs. My doc does do fills every two weeks but my weight loss has stalled and like I said, NO RESTRICTION!!! Therefore I'm hungry but maintaining. Thanks for your post.

how many CCs?

what to do w/ unflavored protein powder??
I mix mine all kinds of ways. I use it for a protein boost to my protein shakes. Mix into any soup...it doesn't matter that it's hot. I put it in Cream of Wheat when I'm on mushies too. Didn't understand the your post and the post saying you can't mix it in hot things. Why not?

puncture during fill?
Betsy is most likely right. You were swollen from the fill and now that it's gone you have no restriction. Same thing happened to me for my first fill...that's all I've had. I wouldn't worry about it but if it bothers you call your doctor. Best wishes!!!

Can I eat pasta?
I have had it once since banded (Dec. 16th). I did feel very full after eating it and know that it is a no no. So, I stay away from it. But many people who are banded can eat pasta. Some can't. All depends on the person. Best wishes!

Monkey on my back
Congrats on your weight loss! I, too, can diet quite well. I could always lose the weight, just couldn't keep it off. I stopped doing fast food a while ago and it has really helped me, especially emotionally. I eat healthy foods only now. Again, congratulations and best wishes in your banding!!!

Monkey on my back
I can't imagine a life where I don't obsess about food. Mostly I obsess about not eating it! My husband is thin and he forgets to eat! Oh how I long for a day in my life where that might happen....

Did the film "Shallow Hal" offend anyone?
Didn't really offend me but found it kind of silly. There have been many movies made over the years that sterotype all kinds of people. We need to be able to laugh it off and take it with a grain of salt!

Depressed/down/distressed....how to reverse?
You should prepare yourself mentally to have your weight stall for quite a while. Until you reach true restriction, through your fills, you will be in bandster hell. I'm there now and have suffered from depression in the past. I am doing everything to maintain my weight right now. I get my second fill on Monday but others have said it can take 5-6 fills to get to your sweet spot. Don't beat yourself up for last night. Just start now to make an effort to at least maintain during this trying period. Best wishes!!!

silly me
Swelling should be gone by now and you should be able to eat. Are you taking small bites and chewing a lot? Maybe you should give your doctor a call. Don't let it go too long.

Signs of being too tight??
I belive there is a very fine line between your sweet spot and being too tight. Listen to your body and it will let you know where that is.

4 months post op/ 3 fills and NO restriction
I am in the same boat and have just maintained the weight loss I had Preop and one week Postop. We are in Bandster Hell and I now know why they call it that. You have the band and no restriction and we tire of "dieting". Thanks to all who posted here. It really helps to hear other's journeys.

silly me
How long ago did you get your fill? If it was just a day or two ago you may be swollen and need to be on liquids. It sometimes takes a few days for this swelling to go down. Best wishes!!!

Calling all snails...
There's a fine line here between true restriction and being too tight! And I'm far from either. Best wishes slimers!!!

how many CCs?
I too started with an empty band. My first fill was 3ccs and my second one is on Monday. I will get another 1.5 ccs. My doctor fills every two weeks after you heal but his PA, who does my fills, likes to go slow, which is fine by me. I don't want to be so tight I start PBing. Best wishes and be insistant about getting to your sweet spot!!!

7 days out...port is KILLING me
Go to the drug store where they sell medical supplies and buy an elastic waste band that covers your whole mid section. I wore it for 2 weeks and never had a problem. My doctor sent me home with one that was made for bariatric patients. Best wishes and hope you feel better soon!

Please help
The mushies for me was scrammbled eggs, Cream of Wheat, applesauce, Greek sytle yogart (my fav) and I still had protein shakes. Also I liked to have a baked yam in the evening. I added protein powder to creamed soups also. Hope this helps. You'll get lots of suggestions on this board too. People are very helpful here!!!
