  1. My daughter got her date today. She is having the surgery on March 30th. She has a BMI of 45 so she has some work to do. She is just starting the preop diet and not lovin' it. She has my support though and all my love!!!
  2. This is good information for me, at least. I've been debating if I should get another adjustment on Monday but I really feel I'm at my sweet spot. Now I know why they call it that...because it's sweet to be there!!!
  3. No "stuck" episodes today. I just have to take my time eating. Slllllllllooooooooooow down! If I do that I don't get stuck and can still tell when I've had enough. I believe you're right about my sweet spot. I think I'm there. Will discuss it with my doctor though. And we'll see how much I've lost too....
  4. Sounds to me like you need a fill and you are not at your "sweet spot" yet. If you have true restriction eating becomes difficult and you no longer think about food all of the time. You stay full longer and don't need the food. Call your doctor regardless and go in for an appointment. Best wishes!!!
  5. Due to complications I started with an empty band. My first fill was 3 ccs. Second fill I asked for an "aggerssive fill" and got 2 more ccs. My third fill was 1 cc. So I'm at 6 ccs in a 10 band. I did get some restriction with the second fill but the third one did the trick!
  6. I did not get restriction until my third fill.
  7. I have decided I'm in the Green Zone. Gloria sent me her Power Point and it's got a fantastic chart on the first page. According to the chart and my eating habits as of late I'm there. I kinda knew I was but was still debating on getting a bit more fluid put in. But last night at dinner I ate too fast and got stuck. Lots of sliming. Yuck! I find that's my main problem; I eat too fast initially and then I get stuck. If I eat slowly and chew properly I'm able to finish most of my meal. I guess it's a learning process and also breaking old habits. My 23 year old daughter has decided to get banded. Her preop appointment is this morning. When I first started this journey no one in my family wanted me to do this. Now she is doing it too. I'm so proud of her for wanting to lose the weight. I only wish I could have done this at 23. Then I wouldn't have had years of yo yo dieting to deal with. I still can't see very well. Need my glasses back. Hope you all have a great day. Can't wait to read all of your updates. Hugs to all of you....
  8. I also have a list of Wills and Will Nots. Here they are. I actually got many of these from another poster on a different thread. But here they are: A List of “wills” and “will not’s” for me to live by: I will no longer: - Be out of breath walking up a flight of stairs - Search a room to see if I'm the heaviest person around - Give into the newest miracle weight-loss drug hype or diet - Place the blame for my weight on circumstance - Need a double-digit ring or pant size - Binge eat - Fret at the thought of going to an amusement park, movie theater, or ball game (because I will fit into the seats) - Need a seatbelt extender for an airplane flight - Have "such a pretty face" - without the body to match - Shop at Lane Bryant or Torrid - Hide in the back behind plants or walls during pictures - Use food as my escape and comfort - Be miserable in my own skin I will: - Walk tall with my head held high - Be able to shave my legs with ease - Be able to cross my legs while seated - Fit into a classroom desk - Control my food, not be controlled by it - Go for a run - because I can - Not ever forget where I have come from, I will always be kind to those overweight - Be thankful for the ability to change - Become the woman I was meant to be - Shop at regular clothing stores -Buy a bra from Victoria Secret - Wear heels - Have so much more closet space - Be an inspiration to others, as much as others have been to me They are both great motivators for me to stay away from the fridg.
  9. I weigh daily. I'm obsessed....
  10. I have a lot of anxiety over just about anything. All I can say is that getting a fill is a piece of cake. It doesn't hurt and you will finally get that wonderful restriction...well maybe after a few fills...but no worries..it's easy! Best wishes...
  11. When I get stuck it hurts! I slime big time!!! When I'm full I get a slight pain between my breast bone. I know to stop eating then. I know I have restriction and I'm not hungry or I should say starving all the time. I can go 4 to 5 hours without eating or thinking about it. Hope this helps. Best wishes.
  12. Betsy, continued prayers are with you Bob, Welcome to Bandland! You did it!!! Now you just need time to heal. Love the black forest ham joke...lol Leigha, glad all is well Liz, you are beautiful...nice pictures For me the scale finally moved again and I measured myself yesterday. I've lost a total of 14 inches all the way around since Oct. That made me feel pretty good. I'm not posting much these days as I had to have my glasses fixed. Now I'm using my old glasses and can't see!!! It's a struggle. So I'm keeping things short. My glasses won't be back for a week! Ugh!!! Have a great day everyone!
  13. I'm so sorry you're having such a tough time. I don't know what to tell you either. It just seems impossible to be above what the band holds and have no restriction. I finally have restriction and I'm lovin' it. I hope it all works out for you. Best wishes!
  14. My thoughts and prayers are with you Besty and BT! All day!! I went to a support group meeting last night on Behavior Modification. It was run by the psychologist at my surgeon's office. It was interesting and she gave some helpful tips, some of which I already do. I find the meetings helpful and keep me in check. My weight continues to come off slowly as I don't do much exercise (need knee replacement in both knees). J's mom I do get that little pain inbetween my breast bones telling me I'm full and last night go Flame Broiler with no rice and first bite got stuck. I hadn't eaten in 6 hours and was hungry but there was nothing I could do about it. But to answer your questions I do get a the feeling almost everytime. I would think you know your body best and should tell your surgeon if you are not restricted. This would anger me too. Have you noticed a difference with this new fill? Are you more restricted? Anyway, you all have a great day and we will be thinking of BT and Betsy's family....well wishes for everybody...
  15. Yes, try and stick it out. I got a fill a week ago and for 5 days had a horrible time of it. But now I feel I'm just right. If you rush back in for an unfill you probably won't have restriction then.
  16. I walked, and walked and walked. I believe this not only helps with the gas but aides in healing faster. My daughters would walk the neighborhood with me. It helped a lot!!!
  17. Yes, I signed up and am lovin' your articles. You're quite the writer and an inspiration to us all!!! Thanks!
  18. I eat Greek yogart with a little honey sprinkled on top! It's a yummy snack and low, low in sugar and high, high in protein. BT, We are all eagarly awaiting your surgery!! I will say a little prayer for you. Today was a good day. I haven't PB'd in two days. Yeah...I even ate out today, which I never do, and did fine. Was careful though. Have been careful every meal and really learning to listen to my body when I'm full. I'm still not having hunger pains. This is great!! I'm lovin' it!!! I love reading this thread! You guys are all the best of the best!
  19. I eat eggbeaters (egg whites...less calories) with a piece of cheese every morning and I'm good until noontime.
  20. I would call and in addition I would ask for an "aggressive fill". I did and was granted it. It was the one that started restriction for me. I would call and get in there because your band isn't working for ya! Best wishes!!!
  21. I just wanted you to know that I copied and pasted those ten "rules" that you wrote about and printed them out. I enlarged them too. They are going on my fridg tonight. Thanks for them. I actually do must of them already but am always seeking motivation.
  22. Welcome to Bandland!!! Congrats!!! You're gonna love it!:wink2::thumbup::laugh::thumbup:
  23. You should be on a regular diet by now. You should not be having Protein Shakes except for Snacks. Talk to your Nut at the docs office about this. Feel better soon! Best wishes.
