  1. i can not do left overs at all. and i can not do anything grilled. most of what i do is hearty soup like stuff.
  2. i heard that those of us that have had the band should not chew gum because we swallow air while chewing and that could cause problems. i do not know if this is true or not.
  3. Hi all. I have been having nightmare the past few nights about gum. I am not really a gum chewer but sometimes i like it to get a taste out of my mouth. The nightmare I am having is that i swallow it by accident. I was wondering if this could be a really bad thing for those of us that have the band!!!
  4. just dont give up and keep working with your dr. you will get it. keep us posted so we can keep giving you encouragement too. we all know what you are going through being we are and have been through it.
  5. that is great that you have goten to a place with yourself that you are so happy with. i will get there too some day.
  6. you all are so wonderful. I am going to get a before and after pic of me and put it up. I tell people that say how i am looking so good to never stop telling me how good i am looking because one day i am going to know in my head that i do look as good as they say i do.
  7. I started this journey last July and had my surgery on Sept 4th 2009. I am down 74 pounds now and feel great. I see the number on the scale going down to number that I have never seen before and I am amazed. When I see people I know they make the biggest deal on how great I am looking. And I believe that they see me just as they are telling me. BUT I want to see me like how they do. When I look in the mirror I still see 288 pounds. When is my head going to catch up with my body?
  8. Hi everyone. I just wanted to drop in and say hi to all the sept bandsters. i was reading some of your posts and you all are doing so good. i am doing good also. i just finished a 5k walk/run. i walked this year but next year i want to run it.
  9. Honestly I am not finding this productive anymore. I don't want to read about this bandster being bashed or told off anymore. enough is enough. we are all looking for support and this is not my idea of support.
  10. I love what you wrote. I was feeling the same way about how judge mental many of the posts were. you should have started feeling restriction after your first fill even if it was just for a little while. You will absolutely have it after your next. I read how you are eating bagels. I am not so sure that is the best thing for you to have. But being you are I am very jealous. I have not have any bread for 10 months. I don't have it not because I am afraid it is going to get stuck. I am afraid it is not going to. I don't want to go back to bread. best of luck to everyone on your success.

I just got home from doing my first 5K. What a great time. It was for the Valerie Fund. Kids with blood disorders and Cancers. I finished it in under 45 minutes and I could have kept going. I think a monster has been awaken in me.
  12. When it come to the lap band every person is different. i think it is an individual thing that make you successful. it is trial and error. If it works for you then keep doing it. but understand that your Dr knows best what is going to work. i had my surgery in sept and i am down 73 pounds. i try to exercise but i don't do as often as i should. i mostly stick with the mushy stage and do have beer on occasion. I do not eat any bread, waffles, pancakes or bagel products at all for feel of expanding in my stomach and getting stuck. I look at it like this. I did not have major surgery where I was cut in 5 spots and have a device put around my stomach to help me GET HEALTHY TO LIVE 10 YEARS LONGER for nothing. I am going to do what I can to get those 10 years. That does not mean that I am never going to not make bad choices because I will. I am just not going to make them that often. BTW I am signed up to do my very first 5K sat. Very excited.:frown: I really need to take a new pic of myself for my profile pic.
  13. i am still itchy even 9 months later. not as bad but still is.
  14. thank you so much for replying. i am so scarred right now. i wish there was a chat room here where you can talk to people in real time. i am not even keeping Water down now. i am going to just show up at the dr's this morning and hope they can help me right away. Diana
