Gum???

Hi all. I have been having nightmare the past few nights about gum. I am not really a gum chewer but sometimes i like it to get a taste out of my mouth. The nightmare I am having is that i swallow it by accident. I was wondering if this could be a really bad thing for those of us that have the band!!!

Ive had a couple of my friends swallow their gum and theyve had no problems but I understand that it CAN cause significant problems I chew gum all the time. I have found that I cant chew it right after I eat. But I have (knock on wood) never swallowed my gum since having the band. I will be interested to see what others have to say.

i heard that those of us that have had the band should not chew gum because we swallow air while chewing and that could cause problems. i do not know if this is true or not.

I was told by my doctor that I can't chew gum. I did chew it once and accidently swallowed it. I was fine, but at the time I didn't have much restriction. I don't know what would happen if I swallowed a piece now.
