  2. What a horrible, horrible ordeal. . . I'm so glad your feeling better and doing better. . .good luck and now you can continue your journey!
  3. Well my tip to y'all is whatever you make, remember to chew very well, and rest between bites. . . the food will taste a lot better and you really will get satisfied quickly! Good luck. . . by the way whats Ruby? Want to get really grossed out fast regarding food? Watch man vs food. . . now theres gross! Makes you never want to eat
  4. Well, i'm going into my 3rd year and let me tell you if soda stretches/ruins the sleeve then my doctor did a damn good job of sewing it together cause nothing has stretched or gotten ruined here. . . I love my soda and always have. . . it's a good idea to kind sip it slowly of course and let it go down all the way, but hey stretching and ruining isn't going to happen. . cause it doesn't just stop, it keeps going down. . . good luck!
  5. Or those flappy thighs!
  6. stick with soup for now (don't eat the stuff in it either), tea or coffee (decaf of course) until you are allowed into the mushie stage I wouldn't go there yet. However, if your doctor has allowed these foods into your plan after 7 days, then i guess it would be alright.
  7. have you tried the compression clothing things? They say these are pretty good. I have a clapping apron. . . it's funny, but most times it's not. . . so I don't run much needless to say!
  8. Lots of people lose slowly. . . actually slowly is better they say. . . just keep doing what your doing and in no time you'll be where your wanting to be at. . . congratulations on your up coming wedding!
  9. My husband, on many of occasion, has told me that he could "never had handled this surgery" if he would have had it. He says I was extremely "brave" to have had it. . . to me it's like "whatever" . . . yes you definately HAVE to be mentally prepared, more so mentally then physically I think. . . it takes alot of getting used to . . . I'm going into year 3 and there are still days. . . . . but less then more (thank goodness). . .but then of course, I'm different and an extremely tough nut to crack! hehehe
  10. Stomach ulcers. That will also make you lose weight. My dad had that done and he lost tons of weight. . . . and if he says why do you have ulcers. . . just laugh and shake your head. . . he'll get it (maybe)
  11. I totally agree with Iwishfit, slower is better. I'm going into my 3rd year and for the past year have maintained my weight. I've lost all of my weight that the doctor wanted me to loose, but sure I wish i could lose 30 lbs more. . .will I? probably not, cause of my frame and structure of my body. . .am I happy, YOU BETCHA! At least I don't weigh what I did before and can do so many more things that I could not do before. . . but of course, I'll keep working at it to see what can be done to lose that extra few pounds, but i'm def not going to kill myself doing it. . . if i loose, i loose, if not then not. . . good luck!
  12. awww I'm so sorry all that is coming down on you right now. . . but your strong, we are never given more then we can burden. Don't let the head hunger win out on you. . . get yourself really busy. . . not only will you feel better for getting stuff done, but your going to be proud of yourself for beating out the hunger monster. . . you can do it honey, and know that we are here as well to help you along the way. . .
  13. crosswind, don't feel badly, I'm the same way. . . get how dumb this is. . . next monday I go to my WLS doctor for my annual exam and weigh in. . .i've gained about 5 - 6 lbs. . so this morning i started only protein, no carbs, no soda, no alcohol, then next sunday night, i'll take a potent diurectic and flush my blessed kidneys down the commode just so that i'll weigh a few pounds less then what i did last year. . . . good lord I know how to play the game. . . . isn't that sad. . . .but of course I don't need a doctor going on and harping on me for 5 minutes over water weight or whatever female gain it may be. . . . .soooooooooo
  14. YES!!!!! OUT GOES THE DAMN SCALE!!!! When I came home after my surgery, the first thing I did was get rid of the scale. . . then i only weighed myself at the doctors appts. and boy was i happy . . .never once had the chance to discuss the "dreaded" stall, the frustration, etc. . . every time i went to the doctor, I saw nothing but excellent results for a whole year. . . then i got a scale and now only weigh myself maybe 1 time a month if that. . . .good luck !
  15. It's fine, trust me. . . i did that 4 days out and i'm still here 3 years later! Your ok!!
  16. Walmart produce has gone down hill big time. . . I don't ever buy anything from them anymore. Nothing that gross has happened to me before, but I just don't like walmart for a variety of reasons. . . even moved my prescriptions to another place
  17. Wow thats a tough one. . .but it's probably been said here already (I haven't read the other posts) but you can't change a person. . they have to change themselves. I'm wondering if he is doing this "self destruction" because he resentful of you? I'm so sorry this is happening to you and your hubbie. Hugs to the two of you
  18. http://www.cornellweightlosssurgery.org/pdf/dietary_guidelines_sleeve_gastrectomy.pdf Try this plan, hopefully it'll help! Good luck
  19. Yes, a heating pad and a lidocaine patch could help (if you can get those) Vitamin D may help, may not. I get those "knots" on my shoulder blade alot . . . and I've lost 150 lbs! Go figure, bet you anything it's caused primarily from stress. . .especially if you spend your day working on a computer or sitting doing something that keeps you in a certain position. . . ibuprophen 800 mg helps me with that pain especially at night, massage has not. . . lidocaine patches help too. . . you may try those pain patches from the pharmacy that you can just put on the area. Good luck, hopefully something will help!
  20. Hi Debbie, well let me tell you about the gym. . . I HATE IT. . . I'm going into my 3rd year now and have maybe been into that crazy place 1/2 dozen times if that. . . i don't see the point of going some where you hate going. . . so I won't do it. . . i have been doing natural exercises instead. For example, where i work we have a choice to park right behind the building for $12/day open parking or 1/4 mile away $2.50/day covered parking. . . . sooooooo I choose to park in the covered parking and am literally forced to walk 1/4 mile x 2 everyday. . . .then when i go groceries or shopping i purposely park wayyyyy the heck in the back 40 and walk. . . . i have to pick up my mail and my house is ontop of a very steep hill and the mailbox is at the bottom of the hill. . . every day. . . . of course there is the yard work, housework, etc as well. . . i love going to the coast so there is swimming, hiking, and things i really enjoy doing. . . life doesn't say YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE GYM. . . heavens what did people do before the gym was invented????? I would say do the best you can, do what you enjoy and when you enjoy doing what you do, you will be happier and stronger for it. . . good luck!
  21. Nope, everyone of y'all are sweet and wonderful! The people who are the "problems" won't dare put their comments cause everyone will know who they are! You guys are and have been the most wonderful bunch! Love you all! Happy Valentines to everyone! May blessings come your way!
  22. Mostly everyone is wonderful and supportive on this forum, however, there is always one or two who feel they have to belittle others who's views doesn't "sit" in their gullet very well. Those folks know who they are and those folks will probably leave a "condesending" comment as well. . . just look. . .
  23. congrats how is it going? hope all goes well for you!
