  5. I love your progession pictures. . . they are encouraging. Hi, I'm at the beginning point on my journey. . . i go for my seminar on Sept 19th, it's taken me 1 1/2 years to get my hubbie convinced about this thing. Either he likes me fat (which I doubt) or he fears the out come. . . don't know. . . good luck to you sweetheart with your journey and i'll let everyone know when i do the deed! hehehe . . .
  6. I got my feeling hurt really bad today. . .I am researching lap band procedure and have a seminar upcoming and got my financing in place, doctor picked out and everything. . . now is the time to "talk" about it, everyone at work is happy for me and support me except for one gal. . you know what she said! "you're going to look like a freak if you loose weight" Can you believe that comment? Yes, I'm 6 feet tall, but I won't look like a freak! I suggested that perhaps she think about a lap band to since she has major diabetes, and is 5'0 and about 200 lbs. . . hehehe:lol:
  7. I love your surgeon already! I'm glad I'm going with him!:sneaky:
  8. I am so happy to hear that Dr. Cavazos is caring and understanding. I am chosing him to do my band. . I'm attending his seminar on Sept 19th. . . hubbie needs convincing. . . Thank you for settling my fear regarding the physician. . . I know of another bariatric surgeon here in SA who get tons of great reviews, but having had worked with him in the same day surgery holding area, I had many doubts regarding his caring side, and did not want to go with him. . . thanks again!

  10. My dear friend. Eat the pizza, your human, we make errors. If we would be perfect we would be divine. You ate the pizza, was it good? Good! Now just forget it and go back to your original diet. I read a funny today at work. " When there is too much stress in your life, do like a dog. . pee on it and go on. . ."
  11. bless you heart, i read during my research that they recommend you follow a diet to help shrink the liver a bit as well as the stomach. I found this information under the search engine and i typed in diet before lap band surgery. try that and see what you think. Good luck, hope this helps
  12. Wow, this post about Never Again was really touching! I am in the process of "exploring" lap band surgery. I am what they call "extremely obese" but at 6 foot tall and an really large frame I wear 2XL and go to the gym to work out every day. I walk 2 miles every day and ride the stationary bike 4 miles every day. I'm not flabby and have a heart rate of 65 resting. However, I weigh 325. That is so heartbreaking.:smile2: I had tried really hard about 4 years ago and lost 90 lbs but that was by being on phentermine for 1 year straight! I bought it over the internet. But after a while it didn't do good for my body and i stopped taking it and so the weight just flew back on right back to 330. I was crushed. Now at 47 it's really hard to lose weight (maybe it was the phentermine shock) so now i'm considering the lap band. Problem is I am really scared. This lap band is a permanent fixture. What if it breaks? what if my body rejects it? what if i get too skinny? What if I die? Will my husband of 31 years still love me? (i'm sure he will) Will the reversal surgery cost the same amount as the original cost? Even if it's a rejection? Could someone help me get over this fear? I know that only I can get over the fear, but I really need to hear it. Hubbie doesn't want me to have it he is very nervous and worries a lot, but he supports me and is willing to come to a seminar. I am having mixed feelings about it and desperately need some advise on what to do. I know that in the end I am the only one who can make the decisions, but maybe it'll be easier to make the decisions with some help. Thanks guys and sorry about the book
