  1. I was banded on the 13th, and have the exact same concern. :cursing: Sydney
  2. While I was on liquids I was on 4 oz an hour. :cursing: I think that was to prevent stretching...However, as I have learned on here. EVERY doctor is different. Sydney
  3. So now that it is almost June how is everyone doing? :cursing:
  4. I agree, I would encourage anyone to do therapy. While I have been in therapy for awhile now, my surgery is certainly something that has been discussed at length. Sydney
  5. My Dr. uses that technique too. I have to admit I am glad this thread is continuing in a more positive light. I am 2 weeks out of surgery and today while waiting on my post op appointment. A lady came into the waiting room spreading the horrors of her band and talking about how she is switching to bypass. *sigh* I am trying to stay positive, because I think has been great so far :smile2: Sydney
  6. I waited and waited a bit too. My insurance has a whole Bariatric department and once I touched base with them it was approved in less than 2 days. Good luck! Sydney
  7. I was one of the lucky ones who didn't have any pain once getting home. I think I just had an amazing surgeon  I second the staying hydrated that was and continues to be one of my biggest obstacles. Sydney
  8. I had all those thoughts too. Now that I am a week out I am feeling 100% confident with my decision. Good luck all Sydney
  9. The wide range is interesting. I guess my dr. is somewhere in the middle. 1-3 days Clear Liquids 10-14 days full liquids (including yogurt and pudding) 1 week mushy 1 week soft then normal. Sydney
  10. Betsy, Have you tried any of their bottled drinks? What did you think? Sydney
  11. Do I need one? What are your thoughts? I have read that some of you have them, but I guess I hadn't even thought about it. Thanks, Sydney
  12. Yeah, I was told no straws and no gum....Forever :w00t: Guess my Dr. is strict. Sydney
  13. My Dr does liquids only for 2 weeks after. I am glad for it as I do NOT feel like really eating yet. Even the yogurt I am allowed makes me feel a little bloated. I hope you are feeling better soon. *Hugs*
  14. I was planning on going back today I was banded 5/13th, but when I called to ask the Dr. a question they said not til my post op on Monday. Unfortunately I have some meetings I have to go to Thursday so I'll be heading in then. I have felt fine enough to go in, just don't want to go against the Dr. too much. Sydney
  15. It can't be said enough, sleep elevated and walk walk walk, I had so much less gas pain than other surgeries I have had had. Good luck, you'll do great! Sydney
  16. Thank you about the Vitamin. My vitamin is making me sooooo sick. My Dr. specifically told me not to take children's Vitamins, but I may follow yours and take 2 of the flinstone completes. Sydney
  17. Wow I see you were banded awhile ago. I was just banded with Dr. MaKenna last week. Looks like you are doing well. Sydney
  18. I wish I knew why some of us only go clear liquids and others of us could move to full liquids right away. I would be near passing out with only clear. I did an extra day of clear just cause I didn't feel like moving on to full, and I feel a bit stronger with the protein. My doctor moves us to mushies at 1 week. My appointment is a few days after that so I will probably switch then. S
  19. I wish I didn't own a scale :frown: Between pre-op diet and surgery I am down 15 lbs. Good luck everyone who is having surgery this week s
  20. Ugg so I felt so good the past 2 days, and today I woke up feeling icky. Really tired, and a bit light headed. Trying to make sure I get my fluids in today. I also had a bit of diarrhea today. Sydney
  21. Maylsa, Thanks for your comment about feeling hungry but full at the same time. I am so there. I have been fighting all day to get my fluids in and some Protein. I think I may have regurgitated at one point, but I am not sure. I am thinking this is all normal. And I keep reminding myself I had a hernia repair as well. Sydney
  22. I hear once the swelling goes down, that feeling changes. I am feeling pretty good about it now. I am anxious to see results and experience the journey, when are you being banded?
  23. I had surgery on the evening of the 13th and came home the evening of the 14th. I feel pretty darn good. I only took 2 doses of pain meds when I got home and have been fine since. I could probably head back to work tomorrow but will wait until Wednesday. My gas pains are pretty much gone at this point and I am fighting to get all my liquids in, cause I don't feel hungry. Oh, and my stomach is making CRAZY sounds.
  24. I have to say I had thoughts of backing out too. Although mine were more mental issues. Like how am I going to survive with out my security blanket of food. No that I am through surgery I have a much better attitude about it all.
  25. I was banded on the 13th. Somethings I am looking forward to... Not being the largest person in the room. Being more confident and not worrying what others are thinking about my weight Being able to run around and play more with my 5y.o. and on and on. Sydney
