Please read...my first posting, Thank you!
As a person who has always went up and down... (so has my mom) It would be really nice to just be a normal sized person. I am TRYING to get my mom pumped up for this.... now with me being 37 and her 59... we both need it. She is leery, and says she will wait to see how I do on it...........

Newbie - Help? LapBand- Jan Sx Denver
I don't know, the people who've postd about the Denver doc said he is very nice........ MY doc is quiet until he warms up to you.. but he is really FUNNY... Here in KC.. I've found cash prices that range from 13.5K and no fills, to 17.5K and a year of fills

Please read...my first posting, Thank you!
Congrats on making this life changing decision... like so many have said... work the band and it will work for you. When I was at my consult yesterday, there was a patient that looked so young and trendy, it will be neat to see her get slimmer and trendier as the months go by.

Hey if your self pay.. you have a dr. right in Denver that does it for under 10K... I think it is www.lapbandrockies.com....... my doc's cash price is 16.5K, so that is a deal, and your already right there. Lots of people on this board have used him.

Bcbs - Ks & Sc
Had my consult yesterday.. Doc said he would dictate my letter and most likely everything would get submitted to insurance today.... the INS coord. said she'd call me and let me know. I plan to only give them a couple days (bcbs) before I start following up with Cindy.

First Consult is Tomorrow!
Yeah... I was sitting in the second row and I asked about the port placement and then the fill amounts.... I Liked the seminar and yes it was better when his sense of humor came out... the appointment was the same way.... he warmed up as it went on... I had him laughing by the end and he said that he looked forward to working to gether and it sounds like it will be in the very near future.. (I peeked into his office and was suprised to see the LIFE SIZE Cardboard Cutouts of the Band KISS!!!!) I was ROFLMAO.. because I can see him being a KU student Rocking out. He said he's done 550 bands now...... He said he'd dictate my letter and Rachel said she will try to get it all faxed today. She is going to call me and let me know, because I told her I would only give BCBS a few days before I started following up... She laughed and said....... Well OK THEN.

Congrats to both you and your mom! My docs office won't do a fill for at least 5 weeks postop.. right now it sounds like you don't have any restriction.. just worry about healing correctly....... I'm sure the vetran bandsters will post some advice... I hope to join you in bandland soon!

February 2007 bandsters!
That is exciting!!!!!!!! I thought he was quite funny.... I liked the way Darlene put it to you straight, and there was a woman there who is a patient who is 6 months post op.. and she has lost 92 lbs... There was a lot of discussion on WHITE BREAD...... I got lucky to get an appointment so soon, and I have my stack of paperwork ready to go.... Are you insurance or self pay?

January Bandsters???
Audrey: My dr gives out cards that you can present to restraunts that explain why you would be allowed to order off the kids or senior menu.. I haven't actually SEEN them yet, but I go for my consult today.. I'll know more later.

Time off work?
My doc says that he does a lot of his surgeries on Thursday and people going back to a desk job often go back to work the following monday. Two weeks if you have a labor intensive job, as he says absolutely no lifting more than 20 lbs for 2 weeks. He said if he were to have it done he'd take a week. I'm hoping to be one of those Thursday-Monday people...

up to me for fill?
At my docs office, they will not let you have a fill until 5 weeks post op, no exceptions, but if you feel you don't need one then you just tell them.

CPT Code
what my docs office said is that once the intial care of 3 months is over if you have insurance a fill visit is an office co-pay and that is it.... it must be a billing thing.
