Hi Karen, my name is Bette and I'll be banded on January 15th. Today is my 5th day on the pre-op diet and I saw my surgeon, Dr. Spitz and my primary doc for all the pre-op tests. I've lost 7lbs which is probably all water but it's pretty encouraging just the same. Kinda makes up for losing the caffeine and the Ibuprophen I've lived on for a long time. I know what you mean - I'm very excited but also have the fear of the unknown going on. I work two jobs and my life is a little chaotic. I'm a little worried about how long it takes to eat and chew and all that new stuff. I think there is a January group we should find. Good luck to you, Bette :clap2:

Karen, I was banded Dec. 1st and I feel like that day was the most important day of my life. I followed the post-op diet religiously and have lost weight easily. I am getting hungry now and will be getting my first fill next week. The most important thing to remember is that the discomfort you may feel after surgery is only temporary. You should be feeling like a million bucks before you know it. Good luck with everything. You have made a smart choice!

Thank you carolyn.

It's important for me to hear from others. It helps calm my nerves.

Hey guys, there is a thread for people being banded in January under "General Lap Band Discussion". It is called January Bandsters. I would post the link but uh, something happened to my address bar and I am in too much of a rush to fix it. There is a lot of great information and support there. Check it out if you can. Good luck!
