  1. I had my second fill on 4/28 and my weight was 206 lbs I weighed myself today and I am at 197 lbs.. I have not been able to keep anything down... if you know what I mean.. I have been trying to sip water, tea, OJ, and broth but I just feel a slight tightness and while I sleep it just comes up? Have any suggestions?

  2. Wow.. After surgery I did very well.. I am so sorry that you are not having a good experience.. but as your wounds heal you will feel better and feel like your old self. The gassy feeling is probably the worst thing that you will have to deal with.

Just stay positive and walk walk walk.. the pounds will come off and when you go back for your visit next Monday.. I am sure that you will be smiling from head to toe!

  3. To make a long story short 252 lbs at the time of surgery on 9/24/09. First fill scheduled for 11/17 but found that port had flipped. Revision on 1/14/10. My current weight is 218 and I had my first fill on 3/1/10. I have been on liquids since. but barely.. they tried 2cc but it was too tight and took someout so I believe that I have a bit of 1 cc.. and the liquid is so hard to go down.. I am going to try to go on mushies for dinner tonight because I am so starving!! does anyone have any suggestions? Also the protein was too dense to go down as well.

  4. Congrats to you... I am in the same boat.. only my boyfriend and my two kids know that I've had surgery.. 9/24/09 I had lost up to 25 lbs from 252 lbs. only to find out that when I went for my first fill it was tilted and had a revision done on 1/14/10 now I went on the scale and was at 222 excited but trying to consider exercising without harming my new incision & placement of the port. My choice was personal to not tell anyone for various reasons but the main reason was that I wanted to do this pretty much on my own.. and feel the accomplishment was for me not anyone else. So, I do agree with your decision of not telling anyone.. I just hope that you continue succeeding in your quest for a better, healthier lifestyle and enjoy everything that you set your mind too!

  5. I had my surgery on 9/24/09 I went in for my first fill in Nov. and found out that my port was at an angle that I was unable to receive my first fill. I now have to have it revised.. I go in for pretesting tomorrow and will have the revision on 1/11/10. I am very discouraged and have not been exercising and just eating what I want but small portions. My weight at the time of surgery was 252 lbs and as of today I am still at 229 lbs. Has anyone had this type of experience and how do you get back on track. I am angry because the surgery and healing time went so well but I did not expect to have a revision so soon after surgery! :Dancing_wub:

  6. I had surgery on 9/24 weighing 252 lbs.and went in for my first fill yesterday.. I currently weigh 225 lbs. and guess what.. my port is backwards..... now I have to do a revision.. and I do not know if I should go through this again... because I am unable to get any fills... because she has to tilt my port and attempt to have the needle penetrate on an angle.. and it hurt soo much.. The office has given me a tentative date for Jan 11.. has anyone experienced this.. my goodness It's only been two months and 6 days!!!

  7. I will be having surgery tomorrow and have been trying to keep my mind in one piece.. especially since I have to finish up at work today.. I am really excited and found myself being stressed and it felt like I was catching a cold but it seems to be okay.. I am just a bit of scared of the anesthesia.. any adivce..:tt1:

  8. What an insensitive jerk! I guess people are going to make comments that are just said and not thought through but do not let that or any other comment get you down.. just continue doing what you are doing.. I am scheduled to be banded on 9/22 and probably will endure looks and questions on my job as well.. but I am not entertaining them as people didn't care before and they'd better not care now!

  9. I am so happy for you! You Go Girl!.. I hope that you and Greg can get to know one another a bit better. It would be nice in a way for him to see you now and honestly get to know you for you not the hot tamale that you will become once you reach your goal. I wish you the best.. and continue to do good!!

  10. Wow.. I am going to take off about 3 weeks as well... curious what insurance? I have 1199 and was pretty surprised that the office gave me a date without getting the approval first! It's going to be a bummer if the deny... apparently my surgeon only does one incision (belly button) .. that's great just keep doing what you are doing... I'm planning on joining a local gym to continue with the walking and weight lifting afterwards.. that way I can really use the band as a tool to help me achieve my goal. .. keep me posted on your recovery .. and congrats on the weight loss again !!

  11. I am from Manhattan, NY and I to have a scheduled date for 9/22. However, I will be having my surgery with Dr. Tiexiera at St. Lukes and will do the pretesting on 9/8. I was actually looking to start a pre-op diet before I go inon 9/8.. and will try your suggestion of a shake in the am and also in the evening or maybe chicken broth... etc. How are you feeling? and how many incisions did you receive?

    Take Care.

  12. Hiya!! I actually live in NYC and wanted to know are there any members who recently underwent surgery? I am scheduled for 9/22 if approval goes well with my 1199 insurance. Does anyone have any suggestions on a pre-op menu that I can follow or different suggestions. I have an appt on 9/8 for pretesting and the actually testing on the 15th.. I wanted to start a bit earlier with the pre-op diet. Thanks.

  13. Hiya,

I am happy to hear that everything thing went well with your surgery and it was uneventful... How did you manage being away from family and all. Did your DH reach out to you? I don't think that it is wrong to have a visual picture in your mind cause lord knows when I finally have surgery and reach my goal .. I will be shopping and be "Forever 21" .. but that is just me.. I really want to be able to shop and find nice casual - preppy and sexy shirts!!!

Keep posting and let us know how you are doing... I actually live in NYC. Take care.

  14. I am really sorry at what happened between you and your DH. It leads me to believe that maybe he is scared of losing you and the changes that you will be making. How long have you been married? I am hoping that everything goes well despite this and you have a very healthy and uneventful surgery. Even though it will be hard due to the distance and not knowing anyone.. you will be okay because you are a strong determined woman who is making a life decision. Take care

  15. I have attended the first office consultation, unfortunately he was in surgery, I have the second visit on 6/23 and I only need two more visits with the nutritionist. Some of the recommendations that were given to me was to try to lose some weighed 254.9 lbs at the time of the visit on 5/29. I am currently at 251. Are they looking to see if I can lose the weight on my own. If anyone has had surgery with him what has been their experience as I know that he only makes one incision.
