  1. I LOVE my left shoulder pain..its a warning that if I take two more bites of food I'll REALLY be in the hurt bag! If the pain is made worse or better by eating, then I think it has to be diaphragm/band (referred) pain!
  2. Thanks for the stats...I guess we all compare ourselves to others but sometimes you see someone who seems to have lost a lot more than you a lot faster but when you break it down...well you know! I saw a guy the other day with my same band date who's lost twice as much as me...grrrrr!But: A. He's a GUY! B. He may have had a much higher BMI than me and C. He may have lost a lot before surg if he had a 6 month preop diet!
  3. I am so happy and excited for you...overweight, onederland, and restricted! Sounds weird but its all good to those in the know!! Sometimes I think I'm a freak to have restriction with an empty band but I guess its the good kind of freak! I just got painful/stuck/ gag/foam/slime on some pecan halves...I was on the computer and that spells distraction! I can still feel it but now that its little more than uncomfortable I try to kind of enjoy it (band working) and learn from it (brain not always working). PS: THRILLED for DD!
  4. Seems like most are same-day...once you can drink and keep down fluid you're gone. The truth is, I wish I could have stayed the night. If your procedure is late in the day you often do stay and some docs just keep all their lap banders over...

Ameren will tell you they did it so it wont have to be done as often..I dont think youll have any recourse...men with testosterone and chainsaws...dont get me started! Dont worry about the protein...more is always good. The only way you can mess up your band is by heaving...so if you are tolerating the protein, its all good!!
  7. Hey the personal stuff is what were here for! You need a prescribed laxative I think!! On the other hand you probably havent been putting that much in the system so there's less to come out! But its more than 10 days and you're feeling bloated so call your doc or ask the pharmacist what the best stuff is at the drugstore! Good luck...lets us know how things 'go'!
  8. Congrats...you must be well past halfway if I remember right...time to put up some more 'lady in red' pix!!! Rock on!
  9. Now that I have been banded almost three months I am really realizing this is no free pass to weight loss! Its really hard work and yes, I still make mistakes so I really dont want to deal with people who know and expect 100 pounds to just fall off me. I'm glad I only told my family!!

I think we all have days like that until we adjust. There's definitely a component for me of dissappointment, maybe that I didnt wake up from the procedure in a size 4! LOL This website and all of you are lifesavers from feeling alone in this...thanks to all!

I know what you mean but I might need a dictionary to translate your slang! What's a whinge?..I'd like to start using that, it has a cute/funny ring to it!I was going to use some California slang on you but I couldnt think of any!!

I am stating to get on my own nerves because I always bring this up when people talk about getting stuck and/or sick: Papaya Enzyme tablets!! Think I'll change my user name to papaya evangelist. Seriously I dont leave home without them...they relieve the stuck pain instantaneously and you dont have to spend the rest of the evening sick and in pain...I NEVER leave home without three pills in a keychain pill holder on my keys!!
  16. I dont have any words of wisdom but I am also curious on whether you would have to pay for that? I self payed but I chose a doc in my insured network in case there was a complication so it would be covered.
  17. Walmart, Walgreens etc. You know how the supplements are alphabetical...well its in there near the bottom after omega-3 and before saw palmetto or whatever! They are kind of delicious and remind me of the baby aspirin my sister and I used to snack on out of the medicine cabinet!LOL!
  18. I sometimes still buy those soups that come in a box (kind of like a milk carton, I think they are made by v8 and just whisk in the GNC unflavored protein powder and a little extra water...oh, I also put it in V8! I bought those test-tube gel protein shots at GNC and they taste terrible but they are 45 grams!Good luck!
  19. 200.5? How about a haircut and a total-body wax and exfoliation? Maybe a sauna...seriously don't sweat it! Wow! That quilt sounds like a project to drive a person insane or keep them busy once they've been committed to the asylum!! I may have to force you into a lazyness intervention! I'm a trained professional, you know!
  20. Check out Sensa online...its sprinkled on your food and supposed to incease the input and shut down the desire to overeat or increase satiety...

I take a chewable flintstones with iron...there are liquids too I think!
  22. Greg...do you have the Papaya enzyme tablets? I dont leave home without them! After my first incident involving a half a banana where i was in agony for one hour, finally yakked, and was still in some pain for another hour...and yes, after that I went to bed! I have gotten instant relief in chewing three of those tablets on several occasions where I think I just forgot to chew enough...I actually have them in a keychain pill holder on my keys!!
  23. Check in with us regularly and we will do the same. The more often I visit this site the better I stay on track! Good Luck!
  24. I am jelous...can't WAIT to be overweight! Hope you're feeling better as the day goes on...
  25. A little off topic but does everybody have Papaya Enzyme tablets to chew when you get the stuck feeling? They work absolutely instantly and will save you a ton of agony no matter what you ate...I'm not a supplement or pill person but these things work and they taste pretty good...I go NOWHERE without them! They are in the supplement section at Walmart and a lot of drugstores under the letter P.
