  1. My own medicine??? Um I don't know what you mean.... I never handed out medicine..... Look yes like you said. this is a little High School and we shouldn't be degating each other or the poster. I may have been rude ONCE(about her being vain) but if you read my posts I was trying to be informative. Lets give it a rest.....:blushing:
  2. WTH? How can you people be so amazingly rude to this poor girl? So what if it is vanity? I didn't have a single comorbidity when I had my surgery. Nothing. I did it for 100% pure vanity. It's okay to want to look good, that's not a selfish self centered thing. Respect is earned, you are not deserving of respect for insulting someone. You know what? I think some of you are simply jealous because you let your own weight get very far out of hand before taking control. We have someone who doesn't want to be in our shoes, she wants control of it now and look at your behaviors! It's disgusting. Now I know why I was baited to this thread. ;o) And I am quite glad I was. Don't you freak'n tell me I am jealous. Do you think I chose to be in a car accident and have to be on bed rest for 7 months???? It was out of my control gaining the weight I did. On top of it after I got pregnant I got gestational diabetes and gained 109 lbs... DID you even read her first post. She made it seem as if she new nothing about the surgery before already planning to do it. Besides I never insulted her. Just by saying I don't think she needs it doesn't mean I am insulting her. If she wants to get the surgery, then she should do it. Just because I don't think she should doesn't mean a damn thing. If you want me to be insulting I will, but not with the OP, but with you. If you actually read all of my post instead of singling out peices, I was trying to inform her of certain things. The only reason you where baited to coming to this post was to tell everyone about your problems with the band, not to be a jerk for everyones opinions. You don't know everything!!!!!! If you get online under the lapband.com website it says you need to be 100 lbs overweight inorder to get the surgery. I think that is why alot of people don't agree with Agnes getting the surgery. Besides its not like she isn't going to do it just because we think she doesn't need it!!!! LOL LOL Get mad all you want but don't think you can talk to me the way you did with out a response.
  3. I was wondering how you know she is ONLY 30 or so lbs over weight? I know you keep saying that over and over in your posts. After saying that, Agnes I don't necessarily think you NEED the surgery. But of course it is up to you... There is a reason why most surgeons and insurances would approve the surgery and why you are having to go to Mexico. you don't weight enough. Surgeons willing to do the surgery on you are doing it for the money. Just remember, find a doc close to you that will take care of the after care because many surgeons won't care for you if you go to Mexico for surgery. Some won't even see you if they didn't do the surgery. I also think it was quit silly to have your "husband" (if it was really him, probably wasn't) ask about fills and how much work you will have to miss. If you know much about the surgery, then you should have informed you husband about that. And with work, well like any other surgery you will have to take "some" time off. It all depends on what you do. I just really hope you are not doing this because of being vain. Do you have any co-morbities, Besides you feeling fat or crying because you can't wear regular close? Just remember, I said it before, you posted this question on this forum for everyone, so you actually have to respect everyone opinion. Just because it isn't what you wanted to hear, doesn't mean it doesn't deserve respect..... Jennifer
  4. I would have to agree with the last 2 posters, even though I know what it feels like being told I was not FAT ENOUGH to have the surgery. I am fat enough because insurance approved me. I am 100+ lbs overweight. I actually think you don't have a real grasp on what this surgery intales. I think you are thinking of it as magic. And please know that with you not needing to lose as much, the weight you wanna lose will come off SLOWER!!!! I just hope you really know what you are doing and think long and hard about whether this surgery is right for you. If I were you I would save the money and use some on Nutra-System!!!! I don't mean to be rude but you post your post so you can get responses.. No one said we would have to agree!!!! Jennifer
  5. Congrats everyone!!! I was approved last week and will be banded July 28th, so I know the excited feeling.. Congrats again, Jennifer
  6. Did you get approved to have surgery or approved to just see the surgeon? I have a surgery date of July 28th, wish it was sooner but at least I have a date....Jennifer
  7. I know how you feel because I have Tricare as well. My doc office was really fast about sending it to Tricare. My doc office got all my paperwork on Friday and sent it to Tricare on that Monday. I was approved by Tricare that same Thursday. I hope nothing but the best for you.... Jennifer
  8. Well congrats. I would be really excited too.... Jennifer
  9. I use www.mypyramid.gov I really like it because it tells if you are getting enough protien or not. Jennifer
  10. Well I would call back and talk to someone else. Oviously they don't know what they are talking about. You do have to get authorization before you can get surgery. Or even have an appointment. Online it says that if you go to an appointment before Tricare approved then they will not pay for it. The first time I called Tricare and found out if I was approved they said yes. I was so excited. I asked if they had send thing to my surgeons office and they said yes. Well I called my surgeons office and they said they didn't have it. So I called Tricare back got a different person and they said "Well we can't fax it till tomorrow because it was just approved today and all the paperwork needs to be ready before we can fax it, it will be ready tomorrow" Well I told them what the other person said and they said they were wrong. So I called Tricare back again and talked to a 3rd person. Well they told me the same thing as the second person. About not being able to fax it till the next day. So maybe you should just call back and hopefully you get a different person. Sorry its so long....LOL Jennifer
  11. ohh I sure do hope you get approved. I just found out last week that I was approved. It only took 4 days. My surgery date is July 28th. Just either check the websire everyday or call!!!! LOL Jennifer
  12. I hope nothing but the best for you. Good luck, Jennifer
  13. WooHoo Congrats!!! I hope this does mean you are approved. I know what you mean about not being able to wait any longer. I was tired of seeing the website say PENDING REVIEW...... I just called them and they said I was approved. I am so happy for you. Maybe you will be a July Jewel as well....... Jennifer
  14. I posted on here already that I wanted to be banded by my birthday, July 24th. I am scheduled for July 28th. I am 4 days shy..... LOL Jennifer
  15. Well if I were you I would call them around wednesday and ask. Thats what I did. My paperwork was sent to them on Monday and I was approved Thursday. Just keep your fingers crossed and I will keep you in my prayers. This just has to work out for you. Hopefully we can have our surgeries around the same time. You never know, you might even have yours sooner. Jennifer
  16. I found out the 11th that I was going to have my surgery July 28th. My husband and I stopped going out to eat. I have been cooking healthier meals with lots of veggies. I started walking every night for about 45 min to an hour. I am required to go on a low carb diet 2 weeks before surgery but it doesn't have to be liquid. I think a couple days before surgery I am going to start a liquid diet just so I won't be in such a shock afterwards. My birthday is July 24th. I think that will be my last day of regular food. I am just too excited about my surgery and wish it was sooner. Jennifer
  17. I was playing around with some graphics for our July Jewels. Which one do you guys like the best?
  18. I got my July surgery date as well. Surgery July 28th. WooHoo I can't wait. My birthday is July 24th, so I guess happy birthday to me!!!!
  19. I am being banded July 28th. My birthday is the 24th. Happy birthday to me!!!! Jennifer
  20. I got approved today!!!!! My surgery date is scheduled for July 28th. Jennifer
  21. Well my date won't be offical until tomorrow but the surgeons office has scheduled it for July 28th. Tricare won't fax them my approval till tomorrow... But My birthday is July 24th so I guess happy birthday to me...LOL I was hoping for later this month but my doc is on vacation from June 25 - July 10th. So as long as I have a date then I know when to look forward too..... Jennifer
  22. Well Triwests website still says pending review but I decided to call Tricare. Well today i was APPROVED!! she said that it was approved today so they haven't put it up yet. After I got off the phone with her I started screaming, then realised my windows were open. LOL But I just started crying, almost uncontrolably. My 4 year old says "Why you crying momma" I said "Cause I am happy" then he said "OH, you are crying tears of joy?" I said yes and just had to laugh at him. I thank everyone who showed support while I was awaiting approval and I will continue to show my support for everyone else waiting for their approval. I probably won't have a date till tomorrow. But I will keep everyone posted.....Jennifer
  23. Brooke- becareful with ankle weights. I was going to do that too, but realised I actually gained enough weight. My doc checked my ankles for swelling. So if you use the weights be sure to take them off right afterwards and hide them in your purse. LOL Just a heads up LOL Jennifer
  24. Brooke- I am also going through Triwest. I am now waiting on my approval from Tricare. They go by the biggest number on the metlife tables. I am 5'4" and weight 249, so I am 100 lbs over weight. I also have High Blood pressure but my doc put me on meds so I will have proof of the co-morbity. I would suggest you have him put you on meds. If I were you I would jusr say you are 5'3" cause they might up you to 5'4" They didn't even measure me. I wish I would have known that cause I probably would have told them I was 5'2" LOL Anyway, hope this helps and if you have anymore questions please let me know...Jennifer
  25. I just checked my referral online(Tricare). Well it is still pending review. But I see that the doc put in to take a wedge of my liver for biopsy. What is that for? He never said anything about that. Anyway, Tricare denied it. The reason was because it was an Inappropriate Place of Service. I sure do hope he will still do the surgery. I will have to call them and find out.....CRAP...hopefully it's not another hurdle. Jennifer
