  1. I've taken two weeks off. Mostly because I have the time available and I'm keeping it a secret from the people at work. I'll let you know how I feel next week. lol
  2. Hi everyone! Sorry it's been so long since I've posted. It was quite a hectic week at work trying to get everything ready to be out for two weeks. I had to go in today to finish up some things. The week really was an emotional one for me. It was rough, but has gotten better. I also got my TOM, which was about a month late. I'm happy it finally came but could there be worse timing?! lol. I was extremely anxious all week, but am now just excited and looking forward to starting my band journey. I took my before pictures today. Oh my! haha My mom is doing much better, thank you everyone for asking. She woke up on Friday feeling 150% better. She's still sore, but back to feeling like herself. Hi have to say Dez, I am impressed with your weight loss! You go girl! I think the exercise can make a big differece. Remind me of this if I refuse to get off my ass after I'm banded. lol. I really believe that the band will only take you so far, and that at some point you really do have to eat healthy and exercise to make it all the way. Nanaviv - good luck with the psych visit. She really is a wacko if you ask me. I actually had my meeting w/Dr Jones and had my surgery date before I was approved by Tufts. The doctor has to send his paperwork to the ins co and then they send you a letter within a few days telling you if you've been approved. They told me with a BMI over 40 and no co-morbidities that I would have no problem getting approved, and they were right. Well just one more day without a band. Hard to imagine what my life will be like afterwards. I am getting ready to cook my "last meal" lol. I ate horrible this week! Not huge quantities, just bizzare things that I don't normally eat and am afraid I won't be able to eat. Like pancakes. I made them for dinner the other night, but probably haven't had them in years. lol. But tonight I am going to make pasta, which is my favorite. We will have a ceremonious meal over which I will say goodbye to my pasta. lol. Talk to you all soon!
  3. Hi Dreaminbig! Welcome to the post! Congratulations on your band date. It will be here before you know it. Trust me! lol. Where are you from in MA? SherryW and I are definitely going to try and set up a meeting from this board at some point. I'm having my band on Monday, so it will probably be sometime after that. I am 32, so we're similar in age. I don't blame you for being worried, I think that's normal. Any time I get nervous I check out the before and after page, and that seems to get me through it.
  4. Oh pedicure all the way!!! Foot rub or sex? lmao
  5. Fireplace. blondes or brunettes?
  6. Hey lainer! Welcome to our post! The 6th will be here before you know it! I'm on the 2nd, so we're very close in dates. Best of luck!!
  7. Hi Rainbow - glad to hear the party went well! From what I hear the weight loss does slow once you get on mushies. I think the fact that you've been exercising definitely has an effect as well. You are replacing fat with muscle, and that is not reflected on the scale. Good luck with your first fill. I know you'll do great! It's just 5 more days before I get my band. I can hardly believe it! I'm starting to get really nervous and anxious. I've had a hard time sleeping the past couple of nights. I'm nervous about work (getting caught up before I go), was really nervous about my mom, and am nervous/excited/anxious about the surgery. I think it's just throwing me off all around. lol. I have wanted to eat my way through the past couple of days. NOT GOOD! lol My mom came home tonight. The poor thing had it a little rough today. I guess her gas bubbles were coming up instead of out, so it took her a long time to get her liquids down. I spoke to her around 8pm tonight, and she was just getting home. She was so happy to be home and in her own bed. She kept trying to tell me that I wouldn't have the same problems as her. lol. I think she's afraid she'll make me more nervous. lol. Deezadoo - how are things with you? Sherry - I haven't chatted with you in a bit, but I see you've lost a couple more pounds. You go girl! Well I think it's off to bed early for me! Chris
  8. waxed, much smoother. lol book or movie?
  9. Oranges long hair or short hair (on men)
  10. Hi Angie, Welcome! We've all been where you are, in some way shape or form. If you have a BMI over 40, you should have no problem being approved. Who do you have for a health insurance company? I have Tufts, and had no problem getting approved. I'm glad you found this site. There are a lot of wonderful people on this site and you will get a lot of information. All you have to do is ask! Best of luck on your banding journey! Chris
  11. Thanks ladies. Guess there is no other way than to come right out and say it. As I've said before - it's a wonderful problem to have!
  12. Hi everyone, I am just about 8 days from banding, and I have just started dating a great guy that I really like. I am obviously going to have to tell him that I am getting this procedure, but I'm not sure when/how is best. We've only been out two times, but it looks like there will certainly be more dates. Being on a liquid diet for 3-4 weeks will make it tough to hide the procedure until we're further along in the dating. So - I was hoping I could get some feedback. Maybe from some people who have had a similar situation, or just have some good advice. I know that if he's a good guy he won't have a problem with it, and if he does he's not worth it, and if it's meant to be it's meant to be. I'm just not sure how to bring it up without just blurting out that I'm having weight loss surgery. That may be the best option, but I'm curious to see what you all think. Thank you! Chrispy
  13. I'd rather be the drinker, but have spent many a day being the driver. Margarita or Martini?
  14. Ooooh tough one! Purse shopping. Singing or dancing
  15. Hey girls! I just wanted to pop in and say hello. I know I haven't been around in quite a while. Things have been busy here, especially at work. I've been working a lot of extra hours trying to get caught up before I leave for two weeks. I've also gone ahead and agreed to help out on a project my volunteer group is running. It is a lot more work than I planned on. I never learn my lesson! lol I am taking my mom in for her band surgery on Monday, and then it's my turn the following Monday. I can hardly believe it is here already! Anyway, even if I don't post I do check in every now and again and read the posts. I'm glad everyone seems to be doing well. Chrispy
  16. Spring rain, means summer is around the corner. orange or apple?
  17. Hi everyone! I'm glad to hear that everyone is doing well. Sherry - I think you need a slight unfill my dear. You've been struggling over this ever since you got the fill and your body is telling you that you have too much fill. But I'm here to support you no matter what your decision is. Deezadoo - I am impressed that you've been working out. You go girl! I work out sporatically. I definitely need to get better at it. Best wishes on your first fill. You must be excited. Are you nervous at all? My guy is doing great. He had to cancel Tues night b/c he caught a stomach bug from his daughter. But we are going out on Saturday, so we'll see how that goes. I just think he's so hot. lol. Rainbow - A week off sounds so nice! How is your partner doing by the way? Any better with the diverticulitis? Nanaviv - sorry to hear you got lost. If you don't know the area it really can be tough. I know it seems like everything is so far away, but it does go quickly. I can hardly believe I am just over a week away. I go back and forth between really wanting to do this and not sure of my decision. Ugh. But I know once I start losing weight it will all fall into place. I just need to make it out of surgery alive. lol. My mom has surgery on Monday and I am bringing her in. I have my pre-op that day so after that I'll wait around for her. In a way I'm more nervous about having her go before me because now I'll see exactly what I'm in for. Well I've got to get ready for my tv show premieres! I LOVE "The Office" and "Grey's Anatomy". Can't wait!!! Keep on chugging everyone! Chris
  18. OMG she really is a beautiful baby!! Congratulations!! I love the little bows. How did you get those to stick?
  19. Hi Deezadoo, I'm doing great! My surgery date is two weeks from today - I can hardly believe it! I'm trying to get ready at work to be out for two weeks. I will love the time off, but I have a lot to do to get ready. Well maybe we can have a bunco night sometime. You need 12 people to play. Maybe if we're ever able to get a local support group going we could try and play. So I have a second date tomorrow night with a guy I really like. I'm hoping it goes well. I can't believe I'm starting to date someone right now. What timing, huh? But I guess if it's meant to be, it's meant to be and he'll be ok with my banding. I would love not to tell him for a couple months, but I think he'll notice I can't eat while I'm on my liquid stage. lol. I think I'm getting ahead of myself though. I need to make it past the second date. lol. So what is new with you deezadoo? Have you had your first fill yet? And rainbow - how are you? It's been a while since we've posted. How is your partner doing? And I know how SherryW is doing - we were emailing today at work. lol. But hey girly!! Chris
  20. Hi lainer, welcome to the post! I will certainly keep my fingers crossed for your approval. I was nervous for my approval, but it came through fine. 20 days and counting!!! I can hardly believe it! So how are my other MA bandsters doing?!
  21. Hi Ladies! Wow, what a weekend! I was so busy I feel like I missed the weekend. lol. Back to work tomorrow - ugh! I had a wedding last night and had a blast! I danced the entire night and definitely hit my exercise quota for the week! lol. Rainbow - Bunco is a dice game for a group of 12. I'm in a bunco league where we play once a month. There are 12 members, and we each take turns hosting once a year, where we supply all the food and beverage for the night. It's a simple game, and seems to be more of a reason to get out and socialize. It's a lot of fun. Well I am going to wash some dishes. I will chat with you all later. Hope everyone has a great Monday! Chris
  22. Hi ladies! Sorry I haven't been around in a while - i've had a busy week. I'm fairly open to when we meet up, even though I don't get my band until October 2nd. I can hardly believe it's only three weeks away!!!! Oh my! So I've finally started my pre-op "diet" to lose 10lbs. This even though I've known I was going to do this for months and months. lol. I've lost 2 lbs. Yeah!! Loooooooooong way to go. lol. Well ladies I'm off to play bunco. I'll chat with you all later. Chris
  23. Hi Melissa, Vickie, Ariel and Sweet Caroline! Glad you all could join our post. Vickie - I have seen your before/after pictures on the thread, and you are looking great!! I can only imagine how great it feels! Hi Rainbow and Deezadoo!! My BIDMC gals. lol. Glad you checked in over here too. Sorry I haven't been around much lately - it's been a busy week. I'm on my way out the door now, but just wanted to say hi. Oh, and get this, I have a date tomorrow night. Why am I doing this to myself before the band?! lol. All I can think is that I'm going to have to explain to this guy why I can't eat for over a month. lol. That should be an interesting conversation. lol. I should be so lucky to get that far, right? lol. Well have a great night everyone! Chris
