  1. Jmcambra Me too. I've not exercised since Thursday. Time to get sweaty again. Glad you had a nice weekend though.
  2. The women who are getting this together are meeting in the chat room tomorrow night at 8pm EST. If you want to help or voice an opinion stop on in. It's going to happen! Can't wait to meet some fellow LBTers.
  3. Apple Cider Century 2007 Home Page Babygirl and Hoosier Check this out. It's the end of September. I'm shooting for the 62 by then. If not 50 will do. Maybe you too? Hoosier what part of Indiana are you in, east, west, north or south? Oh.......and I love this thread too. You all rock my little LBT world!
  4. WHEW You know, going to school full time and working full time sometimes is the pits!!!!!!!! I've spent so many HOURS and HOURS on homework this past week I just wanted to shoot someone. At one point I just looked at my computer and cried. I called a friend and said, "How can I be a CEO if homework makes me cry?" I was getting sick, come to find out. So yeah, on top of my heaviest week of deliverables, the don't want to call it homework, I got a stomach -coming out of both ends- virus. Thanks to my little girl. At anyrate it's all due two and a half hours from now and I just finished. I need a drink.
  5. I AM SO JEALOUS!!!!!!!!!!! My WOW group went out today too. The GF did 32 miles! Everyone is riding but not MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. I've spent the morning with my daughter and a neighbor's 9 y/o girl who just bicker constently. Now it's my turn to whineeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. I did get in the pool for a good hour and a half, so I'm not a complete slug, but I wanna ride toooooooooooo. Deanna- I think you need to take a coffee can and decorate it with $$$ and gas and put in on your boat like a tip jar. Maybe then people would get a hint...Can I come? I'll put $20 bucks toward gas! I love tubing!!!
  6. An hour of rest, you are insane! LOL As for looking at average rates of speed, don't knock yourselves out. What you want to increase is time in the seat. The speed will come...that is if you are looking to cover long distances. FYI, there are A, B, C, D riders. D's are less than 10-11 mph. C's are 12-15, B's are 16-18, A's are 19-21+...getting into racing speeds. Scooting out of the D range to the C range is a good goal. You'll stay in the C area for a while. After that push for the B range. Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I feel 100% better today. Still not biking until tomorrow. I've not taken a full 3 days off from exercise since surgery. Feels kind of strange. But I'll be back to it tomorrow. Strength training at lunch time and 20 miles on the bike after work. Promise.
  7. As far as it feeling different...what I noticed...is that pre band I would have thrown up sooner. Last night I got out of bed over the course of the night a few times thinking this is it...but nothing. Finally at 3 or 4 am I jumped up and it flew out of my body. But it was everything. In the past it would take a few episodes to get to the bottom of my stomach. Was that too graphic? I didn't go into the back end...there were issues there too....how pathetic am I? And yeah, I saw 241 for a hot minute but I'm playing with a few pounds. Maybe last night's trouble will help me make 241 solid. I think you need to rest one day a week regardless of what exercise you do. I don't have shit to back that up, but I notice I do better with a rest day and it keeps me from burning out.
  8. I hate the edit option on this thing....right things Eddie, you are doing many of the right things....not write. Oi
  9. Eddie, I'm going to double up what Cheri said and add a little more. You should only be drinking Protein drinks after fills to be kind to your band, otherwise you should eat your calories. Also, get you ass back to the gym. Don't kill yourself but do atleast 30 minutes of cardio consistently. And this isn't Atkins. I think you were probably successful with that once upon a time, but dude, you should be eating some carbs here and there. So remember the rules. Protein first, then veg, then whole grain carbs Drink plenty of Water and SF, caffeine free, fizzy free liquids Eat 3 meals and 2 Snacks. Keep them small. Keep the calories under 1200 Move that cute boy booty of yours regularly Write it down, write it down. And stop thinking RNY, now you're just being silly. You know that's a death sentence. I know you're doing a lot of the write things, just get it all aligned and you'll see the weight start to move. Kisses and hugs.
  10. hey guys I learned last night that you can have a stomach virus with the band! I got DD's sickness.....oi vey. At first I new I had to spew but it wasn't going to happen. Fast forward a few hours later, and BAM! It was miserable. But funnily, DD calls out, "Momma are you throwing up?" "Yes, baby." "Well you're loud and you're waking me up!" "Deal with it." I sat on the floor and read her stories just two nights before. Where's her sympathy?! Thought I'd share... Don't think I'm going to get on the bike for a few days.
  11. Amelia I have your email on my list! I'll be sending out a group email on Sunday. I'm waiting until then to see how many more volunteers pop up. Though we have 6 already! Which is amazing. I expect we'll be a group of 30-50 people, including spouces...easily we can get a block of rooms. Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!
  12. We are going to P-Town Aug 4th through the 9th. How about you? It would be so cool to meet you before Vegas. Glad to see you back!!!!
  13. JC I'm coordinating the planning committee here on LBT, I'll definately see what we can find that's fun!!! I think you'll be alone bungie jumping or sky diving but Hummer dessert tours could get folks going. The date is February 1st through the 3rd. But hold out until the middle of next week. The volunteers and I (6 of us!) are having a virtual meeting on Monday. We're going to set the date in stone then. WOO HOO
  14. Deanna- Recovering is a great indicator of cardio health and strength. You rock! JC- You're a nut. We'll find some extreme sport for you in Las Vegas...promise.
  15. Oh and hi people, I don't know why I've never stopped at this thread before...but I certainly fit the profile.
  16. Since you can't do anything about it, (I had to do the same thing) take the time to work on your mental aspects of being overweight...It's a tough nut to crack, it's proactive for your long term success and you've got nothing to lose...well just a bunch a weight once you get banded! Welcome.
  17. Eddie, I'm sure you can find some sadistical nurse who'd happily give you a painful fill.
  18. BG Why didn't I know you were in Micigan???? I thought you were in the south like GA or something? I'm your neighbor to the south and I'm always driving up there to see my sweetie. Well I take a left at Ann Arbor, but we're practically next door! Deanna- It would be a riot to be with you in Vegas. I'm sure we'd be laughing the entire weekend! I can't wait!!! JC- You're the man with a ton of vacation time, would you do Vegas? Your cycling buddies will be there. And, can I tell you, only two days ago did I notice that Bicycling was misspelled on this thread's header...
  19. Why am I not surprised that you're a lush? Really I hate that drinking is still so easy to do. Give me a drink and I start looking for sugar. All of my HORRIBLE days since being banded combined the two!
  20. And to report in, I did 22 miles of riding tonight. I could have gone faster, but no matter. I got it done.
  21. JC Go on line and look it up...I think it's pretty common. I saw a dude training for a marathon and his nipples looked all calloused. It might be a matter of putting bandages over them while you run...if you've got a hairy chest that might be a pain to remove... I'm guess it from the friction of your shirt on your nipple. Ewwwwwwwww....I'm sure you're FREAKED out.
  22. Hey Planner People Thanks for the emails! I'll create a group after a few days so we'll all be talking to each other. I'm looking for us to all get into a chat room next week Monday night to wrap our hands around this. I can do anywhere from 7-10 pm EST. Tell me what works for you. I could do later on Tuesday too. Thanks, Juli
  23. I multi task well. You going to Vegas would be uber cool!!! I would so love to meet YOU! Awesome, awesome, awesome!
  24. Baby girl I am so there. Really.
  25. Hey people, Looks like LBT people are meeting in Vegas the first weekend in February next year! I'm planning on going! I'd love to meet some of you guys in the flesh. Check out the thread on the main board!
