  1. Completely normal...solids are definately easier cause they can keep you feeling full for longer...but lapband isn't a magical fix you still have to watch your intake and not over do it...I have been guilty of this many times... but my advise to you is relax and take one day at a time.
  2. i travelled about 1.5 months after surgery...it was fine but I did have the seatbelt a bit loose around my wound areas...
  3. The hunger bit is completely normal...I was really worried about that too...I was hungry ever 30min or so... The pain bit is also completely normal I spen hours crying on my couch for two weeks after it because of the pain in the shoulder...fortunately my mom was there to help me with the kids... My dr also told me the first 4 weeks are about healing not loosing weight so don't fret your time to go down on the scales will come... keep us posted!
  4. I used to have similar...but it was due to eating too bigger bites...i started eating with a teaspoon...the only time I ever have it now is if i am eating in a hurry or snacking and not concentrating...
  5. my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner...
  6. hi irene....the shoulder pain thing is sooo normal...I cried on my couch for days after the op...it was actually the worst thing about the whole experience... keep practicing to breath deeply...walk if you can and instead of trying to drink a whole glass of water at a time have a sippy cup with you constantly and sip mouthfulls of water throughout the day...that helped me. good luck
  7. Your body has just been put through the most excruciating of things I mean hey, to be cut open, pumped up with gas and have strange implements put in what should we expect... The worst pain for me post lapband was the gas in your left arm thing...it was so acute I sat on my couch and cried for days and days. but it got better...eventually. This is a small percentage of the rest of your life...and it is so worth it. so hang in there...take your meds and see what tomorro brings?
  8. I was so petrified of exactly the same thing when I was just starting out in this journey...I must admit I didn't have much will power! but just live each day at a time...try to make good food/amount choices as much as possible. Start excercising...it will make you feel so good about yourself and isn't this primarily what we are doing this for...to feel good about ourselves! Don't fret it will get easier...and very exciting when you start watching the scales go down.!
  9. ohh those hunger pains...i remember it acutely...it is so much easier when you can eat solids again but hang in there this is only 4 weeks compared to the rest of your life and it is so worth it!

hahaha! very funny ....I like that one!
  11. hehehe! I am doing rsvp.com.au (an australian online dating site...) I have been proactive and contacting others I have had two people respond that they are interested in starting email contact sooo...who knows. Needless to say i don't use the same screen name that I use here...however I have been honest about the amount of weight I have lost and that my body is 'curvy'...my photo's are on password protected...I guess I am still a bit insecure about people seeing them...talking about my body is one thing...allowing poeple to see me a completely different matter. Good Luck and Good on you...It takes a lot of courage to put yourself out there...believe me I know!
  12. Hi Ms Jen Thankyou...I did it alone for 6 months before finding lapbandtalk so i totally know what it is like in the initial stages...very important to have support...so my door is always open if you or anyone else want some encouragement/debrief/or a chat...you can always PM me I always respond... I look forward to hearing from you all.
  13. Usually I have quite a fast rate but I plateau'd for the last 6 months...very fustrating so I am a bit behind where I want to be for now...Best wishes! hang in there it'l start comming down if you chip away at it.
  14. I can sooooo relate...I did the same thing I have cheated all the way through my lapband journey...I still eat too much now but I am still loosing weight allbeit not as dramatically as some others with the band but enough to keep me satisfied that I haven't totally ruined everything...When I had lapband i thought it was going to magically fix ALL my problems but it actually takes hard work on ourr part as well...We do have to be careful... Dont get yourself down...just have a better day tomorro!
  15. Hi NewLife06 I am an aussie chick really but at the moment i am temporarily in NZ (Even more stunnning than Australia) ...Just here to heal after the breakup of a messy marriage in Australia...I have two kids too...one has just turned 3 and the other is 1.
  16. Hi susan Congratulations on taking that huge step...believe me it is worthit and with a bit of discipline and a fantastic community such as you will find at LBT you cant fail... I look forward to hearing of your progress.
  17. Congratulations and good luck bexleygal...We look forward to hearing of your progress.
  18. The only thing it will probably ruin is your enjoyment of eating LOTS of that yummy food but you find ways around it... instead of having heaps in the one session when everyone was around I stored food for myself later and I would visit the fridge once every hour and have another couple of bites of something special...small portions but lots of them...it was a fun xmas but I have to confess I think I ate too much...I had this rotten pain in my left shoulder for a couple of days afterward...Best Wishes & Merry Christmas
  19. Congrats, laurend What great news! Keep us posted!
  20. here's a thought...could it be stress! I know people who break out in rashes when they are overly stressed.
  21. Oh gosh....I guess he didn't do someone's band right!!! what vengance!!!! but no, seriously, very sad...So much bad news these days...why cant we have good news...
  22. This is soooo normal I had exactly the same thing...I had to keep on 'drinking' high caloric sustances every 30min or so...it was awful...needless to say I didn't stay on the clear liquid stage for long...I was naughty and moved up to the thick pumpkin soup stage!!! hehehe Finally some substance! I hope it all goes well for you.
  23. hi only go...yes I have had similar experiences after a fill but it goes away after a time for me... I hope it does for you too!
  24. I seem to be slimming my feet too...I am now wearing size 11 shoes that I have never been able to wear before...very cool!
  25. I met my x when I was 16 so I have never dated as such too...but our marriage ended last year when I discovered my x had an ongoing affair with another woman for the entire time we had been married... So now I am back on the hunt but with two children it is hard at best...I am trying my hand now at online dating cause i find it always easy to present yourself in a certain way through written word first before having to meet them. I am totally honest and totally cool about the whole dating thing if I find my man then great...if I don't...I am living a very fulfilled life regardless: loosing weight, raising my two children, and working on an exciting project... HELL I dont need a man but on the off chance that one might need me I thought I'd put myself out there!
