  9. lucky you after my 2nd fill total4.5cc in a 10 cc band i stared to be unable to eat and tolerate a lot of foods.i was ok with that because i had already given up rice, bread, pasta b/c of diabetes control.than with each sequencial fill of .2cc i would be able to tolerate liquids and after 2 days would go into a bout of emesis which usually would be on a friday night or saturday night getting no sleep, cold water go down cold and come up cold.monday morning i would call my md. office and would have to go in for an unfill of .2cc.i went in 2wks ago and got the .3ccs that was taken out in oct. on that monday i called and let her know that i severally hungry, stomach growling, finally got in last thursday got an additional .2cc /finally making it up to 7.8cc after 2 years.again did well on liquids on thursday, friday, but true to form on saturday night the emesis started for 24/hours.scared to eat only sipping liquids only holding down for a few minutes, called my md.she did a total unfill.the first time.i now have to have an upper g.i.so afraid of gaining a pound.but the first 2 days felt good to eat have a complete meal,a whole piece of fried cat fish fries and bread and 2nd day a sandwich.but now i have to force myself too eat like my band is there.truly afraid to gain the weight back.i still feel like i look like the back of a hippopotamus a$$.i now realize that i am addicticed too food.

  12. i understand! my biggest size was a 20/pressing quickly in a 22,i started out 5 years ago exercising at church program aerobics and than that +the gym ,went t0 a size 16/18,exercising 5/6 days a week.still unhappy and diguisted when i looked in the mirror, resembling the back of a hippo a$$,i decided to go for the gastric surgery, but my insurance didnt cover it,so i had to pay may credit cards didnt alow that much so i settled for the lap-band still the biggest regret of all times.now my clothes size is a8/10.i still feel like a size 20.occasionally i have looked in the mirror at a glance or a reflection in something and had to do a double take too realize that that person is me.YET i am still not where i want to be, or need to be.and help still seems so far away.
  13. LUCKY YOU.MINE IS A MILE STONE EVERY STEP OF THE WAY
  14. you guys must not be from memphis tn.i have bcbs(bull----)thay said theyidn't cover b/c of the complications from the surgery.i even went to my human resources, benefits office and talked with the rep of the company for my job.every med professional has the same issue of insurance not covering
  15. i agree in the long run gbp is better.i have type 2 diabetes and am struggling since lapband i have gerd.the is all about them getting money and paid!!!!!!!!
  16. could mean you need a fill.i am in the same boat.i havent had a fill in 7 or 8 months.i am hungry and can eat things i previously haven't been able to eat.so i have an appointment on thursday for a fill.hopefully this will put me at my sweet spot and last me for over 6 months.
  17. i have never lost 2 or 3 lbs in 1 week.so i guess that means that i have never reach my sweet spot.ihave always had to exercise 1 to 2 hrs a day to lose 10 lbs in a 3 month period.
  18. i started to skip this one because of the language title too.but i too am a RN.i have had people take a double look who havent seen me in a while.and others tell me i am abou to disappear.i have gone from a size20/22 to a size 8/10.but i am no where near my goal.my internal medicine md is pleased with my wt loss.i have offically been off my diabetic meds for a year, and unoffically for 2 years.because i was on them prn.maybe having to take a tablet once a week.my goal is 50 more lbs.and to keep them off.pray with me and for me as i pray and hope for all who take this journey.now one of my favorite shows is the biggest loser a show that i used to not even glance at lol.
  19. hi this is great.im still struggling.i have not met my goal.im 2 years post surgery.my md said that it usually take 3 yrs to accomplish your goal with the lap band.often i still wish that i had had the gastric bypass instead.because i will always be dieting and exercising to try and be where i want to be,this is a life time journey for me.my body just dont react the way most of the people body's does according to this forum.i go in for a fill next its been over 7 months.

  22. yes there are risks with anything.there are so many risks involved in the obesity ream of life that can scare the pants off you.so having health issues and seeing and knowing what could possibly be down the road for me,out weighs the potential for having the lapband.when i got ready to begin my journey my sister asked me how i felt about not eating food this holiday.my response was i have been eating over 45 years so its just food if i havent eaten it by now oh well.
  23. you look great.so different
