  1. Doing alot better on the gas / shoulder pain, I'm able to move more than before. I'm on the mushi foods, I'm loving the pudding and my friend suggested some re-fried bean god that was delicious and she suggested to add some cheese boy that was yummy  in my tummy. I've also had mashed potatoes and that was real good too. I can't wait to introduce more and different foods.
  2. I'm truly sorry to hear that you are having to hear those comments. I can relate to it but I got it from my mother in law. I can suggest to you is to be strong and don't show them that it bothers you even though it hurts alot. You should write a letter or talk to your mom about the comments, I can say that because my husband told his mom that its not nice to make comments like that and she has stop. I wish you the best on your weight loss success good luck I'm here for you if you want to talk.
  3. ok so my gas / shoulder pain is hardly there. I've noticed I can move better and my belly is not that swollen I guess its healing and getting better. Still eating my sf popsicles, water and propel and walking around the house, doing chores. That is wonderful music to my ears , I'm tired of just sitting down and lying down.

  6. welcome aboard, I was banded on 3/20/09 so hello and nice to meet you.
  7. hi hot mama, I was banded on march 20, 2009 I was looking for some other people banded the same day as me. I found other people too I'm new to this website any suggestions on how to do the weight tracker thing?
  8. I was afraid of the surgery, I've never had surgery so we can relate to that. You need to talk to your doctor about it. You'll be under the anesthesia and you'll be in good hands, I was banded on March 20, 2009 and the day of my surgery my husband and my 2 best friends were at the hospital. I prayed that morning and all I remember is getting prep for surgery, getting ivs and my dr, my nurse, my anesthesian asking questions, and I was rolled to the surgery room and getting swaped to the surgery bed and that is all I remember. Until I was put in the recovery room, and was in and out do to the anesthecia. You should do it for you and only you, and don't worry about what people are going to say, people will always talk wether its good or bad just remember that this is for you and only you. I wish you the best

Yes I went for a slow bike ride the other day and it was a gorgeous day and I couldn't pass it and my dogs miss the walks. I took it real slow at first and 1/2 a block later my husband rollerbladed with both dogs since they were so anxious to get out and about. I took my sweet time and enjoy the fresh air, being out and about on my bike it felt great . Yes my tummy is making all kinds of noises, I've checked with my friend she is 15 months post op and she said its normal you'll hear your liquids go down I had my husband listen to my tummy when i drank my water and crystal lite.
  13. My surgery was 3/20/09 and I felt the same as you describe your 1st and 2nd day post op. I have the shoulder gas pain, I can suggest to you gas x chewables they ease the pain, and the walking is very helpful I did it at the hospital. Since I had to stay due to requirements of our insurance I was walking off the pain plus the pain medication the hospital provided. I wish you the best in your weight loss sucess.
  14. My friend had the lap band surgery and she inspired me to get the lap band for my self. I'm 2 weeks post op, I can suggest for you to find your surgeon and attend seminars with different surgeons and maybe you can decide which surgeon will work best for you. Research the doctors as well. The more research you do on the lapband it will make it easier for you. Any questions please don't hesitate to contact me. I will do my best to assist you.
  15. Hang in there, all the support you have makes a difference. My husband came to all my doctor appointments. I tried to keep my mind busy and myself busy because the anxiety was killing me. Now I'm 2 weeks post op and I don't regret any decision.
  16. Hi Wendy, Congrats to you  welcome aboard, I wish you all the best on your success.

(so I'm still 1 week late so here it is) ok so 1st week post op and still on broths and sf popsicles. I have some pain and discomfort and I've noticed the couch is not helping my pain and discomfort so I have a nice and comfortable chair in my living room and I asked my husband to move into master suite so I can swap from my bed to the comfortable chair. Also the dr. wrote a prescription for the pain and it taste like crap, nasty . I can't stand liquid medicine but this makes the pain go away though it makes you feel sleepy and dopey. I'm trying to walk in the house to move, I'm bored of going from bed to nice comfortable chair but this is the best I can do for now. I can't wait to be out and about, riding my bike, walking my dogs and etc.

(I need to blog and get up to date) So I started my 2 week clear liquid diet and its hard. The first 3 days were the hardest but you have to keep in mind that you need to do this in order for surgery to go smooth and have little complications. Its hard but I made my own broths of chicken and beef, I ate sf popsicles but I got bored  so I got fresh lime and added it to my broths to change the flavors and it made a difference Positive attitude and support makes a big difference.
