  1. Hi Goodlife! First of all, I'm sending you a hug!! It is so very hard wwhen the person that we are closest to, does not support us! It is hard enough to make this decision, even harder if you don't have support. I think I'm a very lucky person, because my hubby ios very supportive. Now after saying that I will mention his lack of will power!! He will stop by the store and bring home all sorts of goodies. He will sit in the same room munching away, oblivious of the fact that it makes me want to snack. A big part of why I gained so much, is becuase of snacking! I wanted to start this note off by telling you to go poke him in the nose!! Then I decided that would not solve anything! So just keep on, keeping on!! Get your surgery, when you start losing weight it will all be worth it! Good luck!
  2. Hey Lee Way to go on your weight loss, I'm a slow loser too! But you know something, I'm in this for the rest of my life, not just 6 months! I have been at this for just over a year, and I'm only down 62lbs! I really wish I was at goal, but I WILL get there!! So with all of that said, I wish you continued success!!
  3. As you can see I come from a family of "big" people!! That is my dad in the front, it was for his 88th birthday!! He will be celebrating his 92nd in August.
  4. I just finished chemo and my hair was just growning back, I think this is at my very highest Okay I got it! Not the picture I started with, but it will work.
  5. Good luck tomorrow!! Can't wait to hear about your journey!!
  6. I have been to Tijuana twice to have surgery, both times by myself. I see you are going to Dr Aceves, they have drivers that pick you up and take you everywhere. You will never be alone. I swear people need to do more research before they go trying to scare their friends and family to death. My family said "you will be killed by some drug person, and if not the Dr will kill you"!! How is that for support!! Go have your surgery, you will be just fine! Good luck!
  7. Roja Congrats on having your surgery date! And good luck with your test results. Keep us posted!
  8. Trouble Hey my favorite food is Mexican, the hotter the better! I have not had heartburn even once. I agree with all of the other posters, you can eat all foods! Go read some more posts from people that are band to sleeve, you will not see any complaints!
  9. TTGirl So happy to hear that your surgery went good, and that you are home already!! Just remember to sip, sip, sip and walk, walk, walk!! Good luck and happy losing!!
  10. Hey Tiff Just looked at your new pictures too, I love the new hair color!! You look marvelous!!!!!
  11. Hi Determined!! Thank you very much!! It looks like you will be starting your journey very soon!! It won't be long and you will be posting some pictures of your own! Good luck to you! Keep us posted!
  12. Thank you very much Lee!! So when are you going to post some pics of you?? I want to see that FAB body!
  13. Itstime Right back at you missy!! I just looked at your before and after pictures! WOW, look at you! Great job!
  14. Hi VV & Slim Hey good to see you checking in, and that you are doing well!! Great job on walking too! That is the only thing that helped me with the gas and tummy pains. I walked every hour for a s long as I could stand it. The surgery is really not that bad is it? It just feels like you did a ton of sit ups! Have a safe flight home! So happy for both of you!
  15. Thank you Tiff!!! I feel so much better, I will feel even better at goal! You have been a true inspiration to me, thank you for that!!
  16. I say Go for it!!! You have come this far, don't let a little bump in the road (or should I say earthquake) stop you now! If God really did not want you to do this, he would have stopped you BEFORE you got to the airport. Good luck, and keep us posted!!
  17. Hi Trouble Welcome to the forum, and I know you will have tons of replies because of how many people that have done a revision. I had my band for a whopping 9 months! Started having tons of trouble and pain. So within 2 weeks I had flown back to Mexico and had my revision to the sleeve. I can honestly say it is the best thing I have done for myself in a long time! I have had no heartburn at all! I have been able to eat anything and everything with no problems. I just eat smaller portions! I know people think that the band is the way to go because it is reversable, well why would you want to reverse a good thing? I like the fact that the sleeve is permanent, I DO NOT want to have another surgery down the road, at least not for weight loss! Good luck to you, and keep us posted! We care!
  18. Slim & VV I hope one of you took a lap top so that you can post an update for us!! Hope everything went fine, and you are both doing well! Keep us posted!
  19. You know I hate to admit it, but I have never been to the Cheesecake Factory! Now I really want to go! Get those pictures up! I did not have any pictures of me at my highest 220! I wish now that I would have, it gives you an idea of how far you really have traveled! Still not sure on the 8lbs, I go back and forth. If I'm comfortable in a size 8 after losing the rest I will stop. If not I will lose some more. Speaking of losing, I need to hit it hard this week! Last week was just not a good week for me. Have a great day!
  20. Hey VV Thank you so much! I finally figured out how to put a picture right in my post, so I have one in there now. Enough about me! How are you and Slim doing?? I hope you are both feeling FAB!!! Good luck, and happy losing!
  21. I have been saying I would post some current pictures, here they are! Sorry, could not figure out how to post one here. They are on my home page!
  22. Hi again Slim and VV That is so cool that you have each other to get through this journey!! So happy for both of you LOSERS!!!! LOL:thumbup1:
  23. Nerval Sorry I did not mean to question the Dr, that just seems like a long time to have a drain. I had 4, count them 4 drains in for 3 weeks. I had them removed and one had to be reinserted due to too much fluid. So I would much rather leave it longer than to have it reinserted! (My drains were for another surgery) This time I had the one drain for almost 4 days, they really are not that bad. Good luck to you, and happy losing!!!
  24. I think I'm confused, you still have a drain 12 days later? Has your Dr told you why you still have one? That is a long time to have a drain. I would try to get some answers, and fast. Good luck to you!!
