  1. OMG I would like to have a dollar for everyone who thinks this is the "easy" way out!!!!! All of us who have actually done it know the difference!! There is NO easy way out!! I have to say that NOT being able to eat what I want when I want is NOT easy!! I'm so used to eating away my feelings!! I have had a very tough last few days, and all I wanted to do was curl up with a bag of Cheetos!!!!! Good thing about this surgery, I can only have a few and I'm stuffed!! Good luck to you!!
  2. Holy CRAP is right Lee!! This turning 50 stuff is not what I thought it would be!! you know the good thing about all of this, is that I get good a good amount of money to sit home. I'm going to try my darndest to find something that I really want to do! I have worked hard my whole life, and had decided years ago I would not work past 60. Well time will tell! I will take my retirement money and invest it, or hopefully roll it over into my new company...what ever that might be. Thanks for the support :biggrin2:
  3. Hey Chancie!! Thank you for your kind words! You know I have learned to dread the dreaded 50!! So much has happened in such a short time! I turned 50 in January! For me this job search thing is new too, I have always had people call me and say "Hey come apply here" I'm scared to death about trying to find a "new" job!! I know that something else is out there for me, I just have not found it yet! PS you are a true inspiration to ALL of us!!!
  4. Hey VV Even if we do not "officially" know each other, we can still be friends! Thanks so much for your encouraging words, i know God has something planned for me!! It is just so very hard to see it right now! Hope you are doing well!
  5. Thanks Lee!! I hope we can stay friends!! I really need the friendship right now!!
  6. I have never been to Dr Aceves, but I know that from reading other people's posts that he is an awesome Dr!! Goo for it, and never look back!
  7. Hi Lee & Janet! First of all let me start by saying thank you, for being there! It has been such a crazy few days! You know I was in management for 20 years, made VERY good money and decided that I wanted a life! I took a job thatI absoltely loved, it paid well and had a great retirement. Well here I'am after 11 years and i find myself out of a job. You know if it were not for the fact that I just turned 50, I don't think it would bother me near as much!! It is tough finding someone that wants to take on someone who is "OLD' LOL Lee I'm looking forward to taking you up on that dinner, you know I'm a cheap date!! And Janet, we are going to get together!! And soon, I would love to meet you face to face! Thanks ladies, you mean the world to me!
  8. Well as of Friday I have been officially downsized from my job of 11 years!! Been a very tough weekend to say the least! My job required all white tops and blue pants, well I just finished cleaning out my closet. I have to say that it took out over half of my closet to get all of those clothes removed. Before this I had alreday removed 18 bags of clothes that were too large, but I still had MANY bags to get rid of. I will never understand the fact that seniority means nothing anymore! My manager had reminded me many times that he does not believe in seniority!! So what good is it to stay at a job for a long amount of time?? I do have a lot of vacation coming to me and my retirement! WOW who gives a crap! I would rather have my job! I get max unemployment so no need to worry but I'm still just PISSED!!! Thanks for letting me vent!
  9. Hey Lee I had a mastectomy, a breast reduction and lift, my girls definatly know which way is up!! I really wish I would not have had so much taken off, but all is well!! They are perky!
  10. Hey girls!! Just wanted to say that wearing "fitted" clothes has been very hard on me!! My niece has bypass on the 15th of March and her mom (my sister) had not seen me in 6 months said OMG I can't believe how much weight you have lost! Okay fast forwad to that evening, my sister, her other daughter and a few other people got together. I wore a VERY fitted t-shirt and my levi's, I usually wear my baggy levi's and a baggy shirt. My sister was like OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!! She could not believe the transformation by just what I had on! I'm so used to wearing loose baggy stuff to hide the fat, that I have a tough time wearing fitted stuff!. So I gues the moral of the story is "flaunt it is you got it" HA LOL
  11. VV Just glad to see that you are doing so well and that you are doing your best to get your liquids and proteins in. A lot of people never get enough of either in the first few weeks, it is so hard when you feel full all the time! Good luck for continued success!!
  12. PNW That is not a coffee!!! That is a sugar high! LOL And the funny thing is Starbucks is my LAST choice of coffee places, I like Jitters!
  13. My addiction was mountain dew!! Luckily it was only one or two a day, but that was a lot of caffeine!! I have not had any pop since surgery, I drink Crystal light all day long. Much better for me anyway! But I did not give up my coffee.....NEVER will I do that!
  14. Hey Lee and PNW I guess I was one of the lucky ones, I saved a bunch of my "skinny" clothes!! I had my levi's in size 14, 12, 10 and an 8!! I have blown thru all of the sizes except the 8! I can get them on and I could wear them but they are a bit snug. I'm so happy that I saved them, and a bunch of shirts. I have given away 18 bags of clothes so far!! I need to go through my closet again! PNW congrats on the size 12's!!!! I keep losing inches, but not a whole lot of weight. It is totally fine with me!
  15. Hi Slim!! Yes the original picture that I posted did not work. It was a family picture with all of my sisters, my brother and our dad! So now it looks funny that I put "I'm the one in pink" since I'm the only person in the picture! And God forbid that I would put my BOYS in pink!! How are you feeling??
  16. WOW great job!!! Keep up the good work, and the happy thoughts!!
  17. Hey...just checking in to see how you are doing!! Please check in with us!
  18. VV What a great post! It should be a MUST read for all the pre ops just days away from surgery! The first week is the hardest for sure, but every day after is a blessing!! So glad that you are doing well, and that you had the chance to experience this with your bestie!!! Good luck to you!!
  19. I think what it all comes down to is that some people are comfortable telling and some are not!! I'm a big blabbermouth so I tell anyone who wants to listen. I also understand that there are people that do not want to go into detail with family members, much less strangers! We all have to agree to disagree on this one, there is no "better way" just the one that works best for you!! Hugs everyone!
  20. Hi Rossonmarcue So glad to hear that you went through with it!!! YEAH! You will not bbe sorry, in fact I think it will be one of the best choices you have ever made!!! CONGRATS to you! Keep us posted, we care!!
  21. AWESOME!!!! You enjoy every second of the compliments!!
  22. Thanks Tiff!! I finally got it to work, not the picture that I wanted but it will work!
  23. Nancy That is totally normal! Just remember to take the very smallest sips you can, and walk at least once per hour. The walking helps with the gas pains that you will have. Sip, walk, sip, walk!! Good luck!!
  24. Oh Dalisgirl I'm so sorry to hear that you did not go, I really do not know what to say, except I'm sorry. I wish there was some way that your mother would come around to the fact that this really is the best thing for you. I don't know waht else you can do to get it through to her. Good luck, and keep us posted, we care!!
