  1. Its not uncommon to stay at the not hungry stage before your first fill. Its quite common to lose hunger. You may not get it back.
  2. How exciting. Good luck with your plastic surgery.
  3. I would go in for another fill as soon as possible. It is normal not to feel restriction after your first fill. Don't feel bad. Good luck.
  4. I always ask for the rolls to be cut smaller. They always do it for me.
  5. Surgery was a breeze for me. The only pain I experienced was at the port site incisions. I took off Tues-Fri . My surgery was on a Tues and I was back to work on that Monday. I would say you don't need more than a week. Good luck.
  6. Welcome and congrats on your life changing decision. The only advice I can give you is if you get really hungry eat creamy soups. Those were a life saver for me. Good luck.
  7. Hi Carol, glad you are feeling so well prebanded. Congrats on making this life changing decision.
  8. 3.25 is pretty low for a 10cc band. I have seen other threads where some people don't get restriction until at least 4 cc. I would try and get a fill. Chances you have pouch dialation is minimal. It just sounds like you need a fill. Good luck.
  9. Sometimes it hurts if I gulp too fast. You need to just be careful.
  10. My family and friends definitely know. There were only 2 coworkers that I told . One was a good friend and the other one was my boss. I trusted both of them.
  11. Hi Jen, congrats on your impending surgery. You will love your band.
  12. Spicy food don't bother me or my band at all. I say try them.
  13. Angela, congrats on your weight loss to date. Keep up the good work.
  14. Mslynn, I'm down about 40 lbs since June. It is really discouraging. Hang in there.
  15. It must be because he did my surgery. That is so expensive though. I would be broke if I had to pay that out of pocket. I've had 5 fills in 8 months. I'm going for another one in 2 weeks. Good luck.
  16. Cheryl, I'm glad you went to the doctor. You could have really damaged your band. You may see a slight flexuationi in your weight but over time you should be fine. Glad you are feeling better.
  17. I would call your doctor to have another fill. You should be as hungry nor should you have such an appetite. Good luck.
  18. I think my doctor is around $10k or so. My fills are out of pocket for $200 each. I've had 5 fills.
  19. A cup is pretty typical until you get a fill. I can only eat 1/4 to 1/2 a cup. Sometimes I can squeeze down a cup if its really soft food like spaghetti. Good luck.
  20. Welcome to lapband talk forum. Congrats on your surgery coming up.
  21. I'm down 37 lbs and it is starting to be noticeble now.
  22. Marissa, it is true that the lapband is more difficult to lose than the bypass. You need to know this. I'm only down 37 lbs in 8 months. My surgeon told me that 30% of your total weight loss is expected in the first year. I am moving along fine but you need to know this. That is why he is trying to persuade you. Everyone is different. You may be a fast loser. I have seen people lose 70 lbs in the same amount of time it took me to lose 40. I hope it goes smoothly for you. Good luck.
  23. I had really bad reflux early on . Are you taking anything for it? I took Pepcid AC and that did the trick. Try it. It took me about a week to feel better.
  24. I'm pissed off today. My home scale has been off by 8 lbs. I have to reset my goal again. My starting weight is now 245 with a goal of 10 lbs by 2/14. Nothing like weighing in on your surgeons scale. I learned my lesson the hard way.
  25. I am going to go weigh in today at the doctors office. My home scale is playing tricks on me. It has me at 245 today which is off by 8 lbs. That would put me up 7.5 lbs from the beginning. I'll post later today.
