Feeling Like A Failure
This type of post makes me angry. I feel like you haven't gotten the level of support you need from your surgeon. You should be at optimal food restriction now. I'm down 40 lbs since June. I would really rethink this whole band thing if I were you. I would go in for a good fill. You shouldn't be able to eat that much food. If you get a fill and you can still eat normal go back for another and then another until you can no longer eat more than 1000k a day. You can do this. I just think you need a jump start from your surgeon. My 2 cents.

I got a 1cc unfill today...
Glad you are feeling better. Hope you have continued success.

Puberty, Daughters, and Eating Disorders
I was obese at 12 years old and I only wish there was something out there for me during that time. It would have vastly improved my overall health through high school and beyond. I would consult with your Pediatrician as well. Good luck.

This is SOOOO hard!!
I didn't have a preop diet but I understand what you are going through regarding giving up food. Rest assured you will not. Your portions will just be smaller. You will do great. Good luck.

No Pre-Op Diet
I didn't have one. I ate up until midnight of the surgery. Its was a snap. Best of luck. Enjoy food while you can.

Slow Losers - Unite!
Mourningfuneral, don't be too frustrated. I know how you feel. I'm down around 40 lbs since June. I finally have the right restriction and I'm losing again . Seems my body likes to consume around 800 calories a day to lose. Keep the faith. It can get better.

For VG 10 cc Bandsters ONLY
Restriction is great. I am a)never hungry and b)can only eat about a 1/2 cup at a time. I try not to over do it and PB though. I have to be very careful.

Road to "TWOterville"
Molly, I eat a handful of almonds and that always cures my hunger. If you are hungry mid afternoon try that. Those would be easy to tote to school.

Worried I've done something stupid!......
Hi Karen, I eat just about anything. I stay clear of bread though. I do miss eating sandwiches. My day consists of protein shakes, yogurt, cottage cheese with a baked potato, spaghetti, chicken, beef, just about everything. Just small portions.

HELP-Can you PB on a liquid???
Hope you are feeling better. I would hold off on adding any additional liquids right after you eat. You probably drank too many liquids. If you didn't PB it is probably because you didn't have to. I would definitely cut out drinking right afterwards. Good luck.

4 weeks out
At week 4 I think I was on solids. I believe within 3 weeks of surgery I was on solids. Make sure you follow what your doctor advises.

tommorow is my day!!!
Congrats on your surgery tomorrow. You will love your band.

Pain Medication
I was only on liquid Tylenol after I left the hospital. There wasn't too much pain thank Goodness.

Hello from Idaho!
Lucly, welcome to band land. Congrats on making this life changing decision. I think your head is in the right place regarding your concern about overeating. You can overeat with the band. You can eat around it. High fat foods, milkshakes, candy, you name it. Just go into this knowing you will have to give those foods up to be successful. I no longer want those foods. Occasionally I prefer a Jamba Juice over a milkshake. They are great replacements. Mind you, they can be 400 calories though. Anyway, glad you posted. Good luck to you.

Lower Body Lift Fun!
Puddin, glad you came through with flying colors. You will look great!

Still nervous about crunches
I have no problem with ab work. I'm 7 months post op right now. I've been doing ab work since 8 weeks post op without problems.

2nd fill today
I'm at my sweet spot. I have 3ccs in a 10cc band (which holds up to 4.2ccs). It feels really good. I eat like a bird, I'm losing and I don't PB that much. That is what I call a sweet spot. You can get there too. The fainting you felt is probably normal if you were in pain at all. It might have been a side affect and you may have not even been aware that you were in pain. Hang in there, it should be better next time.

Fluoro shows restriction but I don't feel it!
Betsy, what size band do you have and how many ccs are in it? I have a 10cc band which holds 4.2 and I'm at 3ccs.

Fills/Leaks
My doctor just used that on me and it is working. I had 2.5ccs out when he had put 3ccs in. So it was a very slow leak. He said the solution always works. Best of luck to you.
-
What is your type
I had .5cc evaporate. My doctor put in a syrum that is like fixing a flat tire. He said it always works. Ask your doctor about it. That may be what you need. I have a 10cc band that holds 4.2ccs. Good luck.

finally got a date to take tests.
