  1. What you are experiencing is normal. You don't have any saline in your band and that is why you can eat almost anything. I would think a fill or 2 would help you. My doctor filled me at 6 weeks. You should be able to get a fill soon. Good luck.
  2. I am really hit and miss with the exercise . That is probably why I am only losing 1 lb a week. I feel good though. I'm down 39 lbs since June. That is a good start.
  3. Yes, I have. Sometimes I do vomit if I drink too much. Especially if I try to eat. You'll be okay. I think you learned your lesson as did I.
  4. Hi Katie, I haven't loss any of my hair. Hope your decision is the right one for you. Good luck.
  5. Tony, welcome to lapbandtalk forum. Good luck with your decision.
  6. Ginger, welcome to bandland. You will love the lapband if you get it. Congrats on nearly being there.
  7. Best of luck to you with your journey. You will love your band.
  8. Puddin, you have done great. Keep us posted on your progress.
  9. If you aren't hungry and you are losing you don't need a fill. There are some lucky patients who have natural restriction even if the band doesn't have any saline. I would hold off and wait to see if you get more hunger or if you stop losing. My 2cents. Good luck.
  10. I had my leak just fixed. I had .5cc missing from my band. I think you may be experiencing a weep band. They can fill you with a solution that is just like fixing a flat tire. My doctor says the solution always works. Good luck.
  11. You will know when you need a fill a)if you are super hungry and b)if you aren't losing weight. I had my first fill at 6 weeks. I've had 5 fills since June. I'm at 3ccs in a 10cc band (which holds 4.2cc). What size band do you have. I've heard of the 4cc band not taking too many fills to hit the sweet spot. Good luck.
  12. I'm at my sweetspot. I have 3cc in my 10cc band (which holds 4.2cc). You know when a)you aren't as hungry b)you are losing c)you aren't PB'ing very often. I think these are good signs. I am losing far more now. I think you need another fill. Good luck.
  13. I have told my immediate family and some extended. My old boss knew I had lapband surgery but he could care less. I only tell those who say I look good and I explain to them the procedure. I'm not really quiet about it. The response I have gotten has been very positive. I find that people find it interesting. Good luck.
  14. Judy, I would go to Doctor Ortiz. He has a great reputation. The other doctor probably doesn't want to operate on a higher BMI. That is bunk. Go for it. Just get another doctor!
  15. I am so happy to have my lapband. I am down around 37 lbs since June . I'm considered a slow loser at 1 lb per week. But I am super happy with not being hungry and slave to food. You can gain weight back but you just have to make sure you are at optimal fill level. That helps you restrict your calories. I think gastric bipass patients have more weight gain long term. That is what I have read anyways. Hope this information helps you. I cannot live without my band now. I love it.
  16. Sorry I can't help you with the ticker, I have the same problem. Congrats on getting banded. You sound like you are doing great.
  17. Mine was probably within 2-3 weeks. The insurance is the only thing that hung me up. Good luck.
  18. Hi welcome to lapbandtalk forum. You are doing great. Keep up the good work.
  19. I can honestly say that I miss eating a nice big Subway sandwich. I was able to eat only 1 before my last fill. It was the best sandwich I have ever eaten!
  20. Great to hear. Now it is time to heal. Please make sure you stick to the doctors recommended diet. I cheated and got into trouble! Good luck.
  21. My fills are $200 but I know it can vary.
  22. Congrats on your surgery. You will love being banded. Best of luck.
  23. I learned something new yesterday. Apparently my 10cc band only hold 4.2cc of saline.
  24. Sounds like you may not be filled enough. I would wait another week and see. If you are still hungry and aren't losing I would bump up the fill. What size band do you have? How much was put in?
