  1. Liquids, mushies then solids. That takes 4 weeks to get to after you are banded.
  2. Yes, the band can definitely tighten around your period. I wonder if that is the issue.
  3. I ate lots of water and lots of soups. The creamy soups seem to be the best., You can also have soups with vegies in them (no meats) on the mushy stage. I think you will find them quite filling.
  4. You can go as low as 800 calories a day. 1200-1500 is more maintenance then losing. I would say try and eat as much as you can but stop when you are full.
  5. The quantity of food definitely changes. You can't eat big portions. You will have to order good foods from the menu but take them home. YOu also have to be careful with your food selection as to not PB. I can do Pasta for example but only 1/2 of cup. I can do bread but then it ruins my meal. That is what you have to watch out for. Good luck.
  6. Yes, I miss the quantity of food. I would LOVE to be able to eat a 6" Subway sandwich but I can't.
  7. Yes, exactly. I don't know how to spell it, it is something like ompique or along those lines. It works really well. Its thicker than saline. I would ask for that for sure.
  8. If you have restriction it isn't your band. I would go back to the nutritionist for a consult. It sounds like you are just eating the wrong foods. BTW, I'm down about 45 lbs since June and I consider myself a slow loser as well. Good luck to you.
  9. Yes, you need another fill. My fills are $200 so I hope yours isn't too much more. Good luck.
  10. There isn't any instructions that I have read prefill. I think my doctor has me stop eating 2-3 hours before my fill. He also puts me on 1 day of liquid, then mushies then solids to bring me back to normal. Good luck.
  11. Yes, it typically takes more than 1 fill to feel it. I would go in for another fill as soon as you can.
  12. Your leak maybe too small to detect. I would have them fill you with that flat tire solution. It worked for me and I've kept 3.0 cc for about 5 weeks now.
  13. In order to get in your protein I would definitely suggest you start your day with a protein shake. You can get in about 25 grams. Even if you start eating/drinking at say noon you will have enough time to get in more food as the day progresses. I would try and eat every 4-6 hours. Even a yogurt or some almonds. Good luck to you.
  14. susannah, we all have different feeling of full level. I would just try and remember to eat slowly so you don't PB. If you still get a belly ache I would cut your intake down to 1/2cup. That should do the trick. Good luck.
  15. You will be okay. Just keep pushing along.
  16. So sorry to hear about the return of your cancer. I hope you are doing okay and I hope you can get your lapband at another time. Good luck.
  17. Kat, I woud take some small snacks with you if you can. Airplane food sucks.
  18. *They include steak or any summer time grill meat, pizza, and above all beer. You should be fine eating steak and grilled meats, just not a lot of them. You will have to cut the pieces into the size of an eraser tip. *I don't drink alot of beer - equivelant to 1 a day. I spoke to one doctor that said there was no scientific proof that carbonatioin stretches the pouch. I don't think an occassional beer will hurt, but I'm not your surgeon. *Secondly I have read that steak and other red meats cause problems. Am I ever going to get to eat a steak again? I can eat filet mignon and trip tip okay. Again, you just have to cut the meat in really small pieces and take your time. *Finally is there a problem with eating pizza? You have to eat pizza really slow because of the crust. I can do pizza, I just can't do much of it. You have to try it to see if it make you PB. *Finally is there a picture area on here where people post pictures of their surgeries or before and after shots. it seems to me i stumbled across some pictures at one time or another but have not been able to find them since. Yes, if you go under general lapband discussion there is a whole page dedicated to that called "before and after". You should find some good motivation there. Good luck with your surgery.
  19. Yes, you should have no problem. I took that and I also took Pepcid AC. You should be fine.
  20. Jessica, you are doing great. Keep up the good work.
  21. Deb, my poswt op has been a breeze. I will say that the weight loss has been slow for me but there are a ton of other people who have lost a lot more than me. I'm down about 45 lbs since last June. Good luck.
  22. Welcome to lapband talk forum. Its great that you have a friend that is banded too. She will help you a lot. Good luck with your surgery.
  23. Welcome to lapband talk forum. Good luck with your surgery.
