I just found out last night that my employer has an exclusion for weight loss surgery on my insurance. Does that mean that my hopes of getting it covered are over or can I still appeal an exclusion? Thanks!!

I currently live in Lancaster County (born and raised in Pittsburgh though) and I am looking into getting a Lap-band. Tomorrow is my seminar at Hershey Med. Center. I am excited to see what they have to say. Anyway, just wondering if anyone else out there is from my area!

I am gooing to my lap-band seminar tomorrow but I have a concern that I thought I might be able to get answered here in the meantime. I have one child and I plan to have at least two more in the future. I was very sick all during my first pregnancy and I vomitted pretty much every day. If I am unfortunate enough to be that sick again could that be an issue with my lap-band? I am concerned that the constant vomittign could make the band slip or somethign like that. Does anyone know if this is a concern?

And I want it SO badly!

Just wondering. The friends that I have shared this with (that I am thinking about getting a band) have asked me if I think I will miss eating. Sure, I guess I will but I think the benefits of losing weight will far outweigh my thoughts of missing food.

Just wondering, from the time you started looking into the lap band and you decided to get one how long did it take you to get your surgery? I am pretty sure I want to get one however I still have a lot of research to do. But I am just wondering what the normal time span is. When could I expect to be able to get surgery if I decide to do so?

I have just started seriously looking into it today. It looks great! This is going to sound dumb but I would go get the procedure done tomorrow if it wasn't for one thing. I am scared to death about the possibility of death due to the surgery!! Does anyone have any info for me that could kind of help me out with this fear? Thanks!
