  1. Oh boy...so sore. Today was legs. I was pumped up on grape juice and double my creatine and glutamine. We did supersets on the leg press and I pushed to start with 360 pounds...set of 12 and pull a plate from each side, set of 12 and pull a plate...all consecutively until the plates are gone. I thought my legs would blow up and I would positively puke. Good God, I wonder how often my partner is gonna want to do these! I think he is addicted to the pain! After that, we finished our regular leg routine. It was tougher after the leg press, of course. Hour and a half total. Before the gym I rode 32 miles on my bike. Hubby got the trainer all set up for me this afternoon while I was at the gym, so we will see how that works tomorrow. I think I want a portable DVD player to watch while on the trainer. Time to surf for deals!
  2. OMG that is GREAT! Whooda-thunk?!?!? Looked like the fountain show at the Bellagio in Vegas!
  3. Thanx, W! You know I think you're pretty awesome, too! J - Agreed! Where the heck did everyone disappear to? I've come to expect it from HP and JC, but not D and BG! Halloooooooooo out there! B - No carbonation at all for you? I didn't know! What's the story on the Mentos and Coke? Haven't heard about that.
  4. Okay, a Coke Zero!
  5. Thanks, WHOS! Yes, I just learned about 21's yesterday! How funny! I will try your suggestions by next week.
  6. Angel - Glad to hear you are doing well, and I hope you don't go too stir-crazy! Yes, definitely get out those books and crafts to keep your hands busy and away from the food. Once you heal, you are going to look even more amazing! Dibaby - Good for you on getting back on the wagon! It is so easy to fall off! I actually gave myself "permission" to eat whatever I wanted for a few days up to Christmas, but that is over now, so I'm back on the wagon, too! JM - Yes, keep up those workouts! Don't you have a goal date of some sort? A wedding maybe? I'm sorry I don't recall...please refresh my memory? WHOS - I will keep ya posted on how the trainer works out. I fear boredom, but I don't know why when I love the recumbent at the gym. My IPOD should keep my mind occupied as long as I have the right tunes. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Okay, people! I'm looking for everything from conventional to extreme here...what are some of the best ways to blast body fat and send your number plummeting? I have a few things going on that are working, but I will need a couple alternatives to switch things around a bit so I don't plateau. Right now I've got Supersets (lifting), cardio (of course), and a few supplements. I'm looking for changes to incorporate every six weeks or so to keep my body guessing.
  7. Hey there, WHOS! Welcome! You are right...it can be insane in here! Glad to see you here as well as the other thread. J usually covers this, but you need a one or two letter name for yourself in here...maybe W or WD? As far as your hiney, that is the hardest to master. Endurance with your legs is not nearly as difficult as endurance with your butt! You can do it, though...you do so much else, as well. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ J - Yes, I am body building. I realize it is rather contradictory to cycling, but I am utterly passionate about it! (Just ask WHOS! He listens to me drone on about my workouts on the other thread!) I am working out minimum of five days a week with a partner who is more addicted to lifting than I am and he is critical on my form, so he's a fantastic benefit. Plus, I don't have to pay him to work out with me! LOL I have some serious goals surrounding lifting, but they are very long-term and I have so far to go. The first point of order for me is to get my body fat to 22% or lower. If I could reach 20% I would be ecstatic! If I keep up the lifting, cycling and diet like I am...I hope to see at least down to 25% by Spring. It'll be tough, but I think I can do it.
  8. "Fat-Ass to World-Class..." I love that! That is exactly how I feel. I have come so far, and yet have so much more work to do to accomplish my goals. I wish there were a shortcut! I want to be a skinny fit bitch RIGHT NOW! B - No problem with the endurance for the rides. That will come. How many miles are you going now?
  9. Wow, B! It sounds like you are as focused on your cycling as I am on body building! (That is pretty damn focused!) I would love to know what you finally come up with for the bike training to see if it is something I should glean from. I am really looking forward to getting my trainer set up and going so I can ride that much more. We need to chat soon and set up a ride time and hopefully I can pick your brain for training ideas then, as well. I can tell you are REALLY loving Buttercup! That's great!
  10. An hour and a half today at the gym on chest workout.
  11. I think there are a few of us here that may be a tad OCD! (Myself included.) My Dad always says we are ALL crazy...just by different degrees...and I believe that 110%! I heart you all!
  12. Thank you! I just wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas! I did get that ride in yesterday! About an hour and a half. Today I am taking my tree down and getting my front room cleaned back up from the holiday mess. Then I will set up my bike trainer in there! I can't wait to try it out!
  13. B... So glad you got the Speedplays on! Isn't that funny...my left seems to need a little more kick to disengage, as well. Hmmm. I think it's just that I am right handed in all things and may just be less coordinated on that side...who knows. I don't know how to adjust them...haven't tried. Now I must investigate! And LOVE the name Buttercup! My girls name is Giana..."G" for short...means "God's Gracious Gift". Not sure how that applies...just love the name!
  14. Well, JM...I didn't do as well today! Things were so crazy that I didn't get my ride in, so I need to do it tomorrow for sure! You, too! Do something, anything...you will be glad you did! I'm so excited, too! Hubby gave me a complete trainer system for my bike tonight! I can't wait to get it set up so I can ride my road bike at home when it's icky or too cold outside! Or anytime, really! What a great solution to insomnia, huh?
  15. I'm so excited! Hubby gave me a complete trainer system tonight for Christmas! I can't wait to get it set up!
  16. Yes! Merry Christmas Eve to all! I luv y'all! (I love Rudolph!)
  17. By the way, I did go for that ride, and it was invigorating! The tights work great...my legs were not a bit cold! I also wore Under Armor technical tee and hoodie, so wasn't cold there, either. My toes and ears were frozen, however, so I need an Under Armor headband for my ears and a set of Toesties to go over my bike shoes. Other than that, the ride was fantastic! It was dark, and the light worked great. I rode the concrete path around the lake in my neighborhood and then all over the neighborhood for a good hour. Not a training ride (60+ miles)...but a different, good ride. I must do that again tomorrow and Christmas!
  18. Hello, JC! Merry Christmas to you, too! Sorry about your working woes...I hope you get resolution around that soon. We look forward to having you back on a more regular basis!
  19. Okay, don't hang me guys, but I feel so good! I just got back from a good hour ride. It is 43 degrees here and feels like 38 according to YAHOO Weather. These cold weather tights REALLY WORK! I wore an Under Armor tehcnical tee and an Under Armor hoodie with Under Armor gloves, and the only parts of me that were cold were my toes and ears. Under Armor is a little pricey, but so worth it for comfort while working out. I guess now I need to get a headband/ear cover to keep my ears warm and some Toesties to put over my bike shoes to keep my toes warm. They hurt they are still so cold! It was a really invigorating ride, though!
  20. Oh, and they are called tire levers...but wrench is a more appropriate term since you use them to WRENCH the effing tire off when you have an effing blowout! LOL
  21. J - You are VERY WELCOME! So glad you liked your "mixed bag" of goodies! I'm pleasantly surprised that it arrived in time!
