Has anyone taken up Bycyling?
Mine are getting pretty big, too...they just spin around now and I'm always having to put them upright...bugs me! My jeweler will size them for free, but I just don't want to be without them. When they are in danger of falling off, I will take care of them then. HP - how exciting for you and the new bike! You don't have long to wait now! ALL - I'm at my mom's, who made a very nice dinner. Now she has just pulled hot homemade brownies with tons of walnuts out of the oven and is dishing them up to everyone. She has asked me four times so far..."Are you SURE you don't want some?" I could shoot her.

January Exercise - HAPPY NEW YEAR! :)
Welcome everybody! Love to see all the faces here! WHOS, gotta ask...what the heck do you do that keeps you so on the move?!?!? (Hey, I made a rhyme! Yes, I'm a major nerd! ) I just love Baltimore, but in warmer months...love Inner Harbor, the aquarium, all the restaurants and shopping! Karey...I hope the casein helps you as it has me. With more and more studies, casein is showing to have real long-term benefits over other types of Proteins, though whey is still the best assimilated for immediate post-workout...bar none. I think it's good to use a combination throughout the day to glean the most benefit from all. Good luck to all on your goals! Let's be tough and keep each other accountable! My 2008 goal is to reduce my body fat to 20% or less (first and foremost), start crosstraining with running, keep up my cycling and weight training. Punkey...I would be interested in a weight/exercise challenge. How do you want to set it up?

January Exercise - HAPPY NEW YEAR! :)
Hey, snow shoveling DEFINITELY counts as exercise! Did 120 crunches today. Also did a 30 minute workout at home on biceps and triceps. Looks like my left tricep is all right after all, which is fantastic news. Was unsuccessful at getting hubby out to run, dag nab it!

January Exercise - HAPPY NEW YEAR! :)
Oh, I didn't know you made one! And after WHOS and I were posting in the November thread until something like the tenth of December when DiBaby clunked us over the head, I figured I better put a link to it when I made this one! LOL So sorry, girlie! I was gonna delete this one, but I saw that you just linked yours to here. I'll check first next time!

January Exercise - HAPPY NEW YEAR! :)
Welcome, Karey! Please do join in and come back often! I'm glad you saw some value in the Protein info I shared. About the casein protein... Bodybuilding.com - Optimum 100% Casein Protein - Slow Protein Digestion! On sale now! That is what I use. I have to say that my sleep is markedly improved after incorporating this, as well. I have been a chronic insomniac all my life, so this is huge for me. I see that your goal loss is similar to mine. Do you mind if I ask what BMI your goal will land you at? I'm so envious of your TT & BL date! Those are the two things I am thinking more and more about...possibly augmentation versus a lift, but nonetheless I'm having a hard time convincing hubby. We will see how that goes. How did you decide on a surgeon? Did you find a large cost variance among the different docs? LOL I guess I have a lot of questions! Tell me to mind my own business if it's too much!

December Exercise
Once the home gym was assembled yesterday, I got on to try her out. Didn't know how much weight was on it when I went to try the flys...needless to say it was too much and I think I pulled my one of my left triceps. Not too bad, but still feeling it. An hour and a half at the gym today...shoulder workout. REALLY good workout...pushed my limits well and it felt GREAT. The gym is closed tomorrow, so I'm hoping to talk hubby into going running. I haven't run to date and I want to see how I might do. Keep me in your prayers that I survive! :faint:

- Has anyone taken up Bycyling?
Wow, almost pure liquids? I would die! But I must say that your shake recipe sounds yummy and I will be trying it in the morning. Thanks for sharing that. Yeah, the junk goes down fine for me, too. Like the Drumstick ice cream cone that hubby just brought home for me and I promptly ate! He is such a saboteur! LOL Yes, exercise is so ingrained me now that I hope that I NEVER have the chance to regain the weight.- December Exercise
JM - Congrats on another pound gone, girlie!- Has anyone taken up Bycyling?
Okay, B...what are you eating if you can't have any meat whatsoever? I usually have the same problem with things getting stuck all the time, and I haven't had a fill for a long time...I think at least two months. I still try...and still get stuck...and it really pisses me off when I can't eat the simplest things. Makes hubby feel bad, too, when we are out to eat and he's chowing down and I can't get past the second bite. It is really getting frustrating.- December Exercise
Hearing crickets again... Where is everyone?- Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

B - Which lake are you riding on?- Has anyone taken up Bycyling?
Ha! To get hubby to buy the gym, I had to vow that I would never hang clothes on it! LOL Honestly, I really think it will get used way too much for that. My trainer is a Travel Trac Century V Fluid Plus. I tried a magnetic in the store and just didn't care for it. I still have to figure out what I want to do with the adjustment lever, because I don't want it permanently mounted on my handlebar. Just letting it sit there on the bar seems to work fine, though...so I may just leave well enough alone. This way I can pop her off the trainer pretty quick and take her outside for a good spin.- Has anyone taken up Bycyling?
J - That sounds like an awesome class! That is something we all should do. I can't wait to hear you report back after the class. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Well, I made a hard decision and gutted my office. Since we are wireless and everyone in the house has a laptop, I took out the desktop computer and all furniture in my office except my mini-fridge and am turning it into a workout room. (Hard as I tried, I just couldn't rectify myself to having that gym in my bedroom.) All my files are now in the garage when I need them...so no big deal there. Hubby is in there now, putting the gym together...and fussing and cussing...and calling me "sweet-ums, love of my life, pain in my ass" every time he walks through the room to get more parts! LOL That thing must have a gazillion pieces!- December Exercise

Glad to hear you are mostly okay today. Kinda worried about the "day after" affects for you! I understand about the difference from recumbent to upright for the Speedplays. The other side of the coin is that, like I said, it took me quite a while to get used to mine. But once I did, it was like the light bulb going on in my head in eighth grade and finally understanding Algebra...I didn't understand why I didn't "get it" before that. The Speedplays are kind of like that for me now...can't see why I had so much trouble to start with. You will get there, too. I think my main problem was in my head, being uncomfortable with them, afraid of them. I hope you get used to your yellow lollipops soon!- December Exercise
Hey, Tulip! Dr. Marsden is my doc, too! Welcome! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Okay...LOVE the trainer! Once we got it all adjusted properly, it was a dream. I geared up and rode for two hours this morning. Also went and got a home gym last night. Will be rearranging my bedroom tonight to accomodate it. If I put it in the garage like the last one, I will never use it! This one has a leg extention on it, too...so I am excited to start using it as well. Of course, hubby wanted to know if I was going to quit going to the gym now that I have the home gym! NOPE! This is in ADDITION to my gym time! But I promised him I wouldn't go too crazy when he is on shore. I wish I could get him interested in working out so that this wouldn't be an issue, but no luck so far. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Have a great weekend, y'all!- Has anyone taken up Bycyling?
B - God Bless you for keeping at it today! Did you pose your query to the LBS personnel? Did they have any advice? I can tell you are okay because you tell the story with humor. And tell it well, as usual...had me giggling. I hope you feel okay when you wake up in the morning! ALL - I saw a cyclist today at a major intersection near my home. He was first in line at a traffic light. He obviously didn't want to unclip, and proceeded to just balance there, moving his feet back and forth ever so slightly, barely noticeable. It was amazing to watch him, as this was traffic time and he was on the unfortunate side of the light, and was balancing there for several full minutes...I'd say at least three or four full minutes. Then the light turned green for us and we had to turn left going around him. No telling how long he sat there. I was very impressed, to say the least. Now I have to try it, God help me!- December Exercise
Two hours at the gym today on biceps/triceps. We had a third person with us today, so it went SO SLOW! So all in all I may have gotten a good hour in.- Has anyone taken up Bycyling?
B - Wow, that's an amazing loss in such a short time! Way to go!- December Exercise
I gotta ask...what supplements are you taking/going to take? What all did your bodybuilder friend recommend? I hope you do get that ankle seen soon...you've been dealing with that for a while now. - December Exercise
