  1. You can get TGIFriday's spinach dip in the freezer section of your grocery store, too. It's not as good as Ruby Tuesday's or Chili's but it's nice and hot in about 3 1/2 minutes and it can satisfy a craving.
  2. I've got a yummy white cheese dip recipe (like the Mexican restaurants serve), if anyone's interested. It's super-simple to make, too. 8 ounces white american cheese from the deli section of your grocery store (some also sell pre-packaged white american in the cheese section) 1 4 ounce can of diced green chilis or jalapenos (chilis are milder) 1/4-1/2 cup (depends on how thick you want the dip) half and half or cream Combine in a saucepan and cook on med-low temperature until smooth.
  3. I actually started a part-time job as an office assistant last week, and I'll be starting a part-time job at Linens n Things this week. Busy, busy, busy! But it'll be good. I've found that I work best under pressure. If I have too much time on my hands, I wind up procrastinating and getting absolutely nothing done.
  4. Thanks! Good to see you back!
  5. Nah. If the OP comes back under a new name (which she will, if she's who I think she might be), it'll just show that she isn't important enough for us to continue to talk about her, even in the post she started.
  6. I'm already banded. I'm preparing to have a tummy tuck and breast lift sometime this fall, and I've been looking into funding that.
  7. I wanted to see if I qualify for one of the credit lines that they offer. I do, and the one I qualify for has a limit that is within a few hundred dollars of the quote my PS gave me, with an interest rate as low as 10%. I think I'm still going to apply for the Care Credit financing program, just to see if I could get a better deal with the interest rate. I'm tempted to just go with the credit line at the bank, though, because if I pay in full with no financing, my PS gives a 10% break on her fees. And the limit is close enough (within $400) of the quote she gave me that I know without a doubt I can get the extra money by the time I'm wanting to have surgery. It's something to think about, anyway. Edit to add: If I decide to go with the bank, I plan on applying officially closer to my surgery date and seeing if I qualify for a higher limit at that point. I don't think I'd need it, since like I said, the credit limit is very close to the quote I was given, but at that time, I'll have a much higher monthly income (I just now got a 2nd part-time job in addition to my teaching, and I'm interviewing for a 3rd tomorrow).
  8. I'm not a full year out yet, but I've only had to have three fills so far, only one of which was after the 6-month period, and I have perfect restriction right now. The number of fills you'll need will vary with each person. Some people need fewer fills to get restriction, and some people need more. It'll also depend on which size band you get.
  9. Ditto. Alex has created a great resource for all of us.
  10. Yep, we've got a Ver-sales, KY, too, along with an Ay-thens. There's a My-lon, TN, too. My dad was born there.
  11. The only thing I like at Red Lobster are the baked potatoes and the biscuits. Well, their cheese sticks are yummy, too. I've only been there twice since being banded, and not at all since I've gotten good restriction, 'cause I can't eat my favorite stuff there! Seriously, you'd probably LOVE my SIL's family's restaurant.
  12. Applebee's spin dip is SO good. I was there just the other day for French Onion soup and the dip.

*snort* :cursing: Ahem. That is, you mean, there are people here who can't type their way out of a paper bag?! :svengo:Say it ain't so! I gotta say, though, nothing really irritated me as much as ol' Holy Roller (if you were around in RnR last year, you know who I'm talking about) and the haiku girl. I just kept thinking "WTF?!" when I'd read their posts.
  14. Not much of a fried potato person, either. Now, fried green tomatoes? YUMMY. Especially the one's my SIL's dad makes at his restaurant. Best things EVER. If you're ever in Memphis, you should stop by his restaurant, the Blue Fish Oyster Bar and Restaurant. Rather pricey, but it's supposedly amazing seafood, even won the "best seafood in Memphis" award from a local society magazine. I don't eat seafood, myself, but the filet mignon that they make there is to die for.
  15. Damn, you have had a bad week, haven't you?!
  16. My current vice is spinach dip. LOVE Ruby Tuesday's or Chili's spinach dip. I'll get that, along with some soup, and that'll be my heavy-calorie meal for a day.
  17. Mmm, fried cheese. Yummy. Love fried green beans, too. I admit I occasionally still go get some fried mozzarella somewhere, but not nearly as often as I used to.
  18. Nothing to be sorry about. You had very good, logical advice to give her. I think travelgirl is just trying to say that we need to try to ignore her posts as much as possible, because even though she seems to be looking for attention, too many of the same people giving it to her can send the wrong impression.
  19. Thirded!:cursing:
  20. It really makes the "love777pink has not made any friends yet" in her user profile even funnier!
  21. Wow, methinks someone's trolling and probably isn't even banded. Yeah, she's had tons of male attention in the whole week she's been banded, because of the massive 20 pound weight loss she's had. *snort* Sure, tell us another one. OMG, this is AWESOME! I haven't had a laugh this good in months! She's smokin' the good stuff, I think. :cursing:
  22. Thank you! I'll probably be teaching here through the summer (the department head asked me today if I'd be available if he can't get one of the profs with a PhD to do it), but I'm hoping to get out of this damn town ASAP, since I can finish my thesis from anywhere, as long as I have internet. Assuming I can find a job, of course. Which, so far, has been a problem.
  23. I dunno, but I know it irritates me when people ask a question and then never come back to the thread. Or hell, the people that ask for advice and then ignore it and keep complaining about whatever it is that they were asking for advice about. It's like, "Thanks for completely ignoring me. I won't be so quick to offer advice next time someone asks for it." Itryto at least post again and thank people for replying whenever I ask for advice. Or at least, I try if I remember that I made the thread in the first place, lol!
  24. Ooh, I like. *makes notes*
  25. I'm attempting to reserve judgement, but I've not been impressed with her attitude in many of the posts that I've read, especially the ones where she makes a not-very-nice comment and then tries in later posts to make it sound like people were just overreacting to her words (for example, the one in the Q/A forum).
