  1. I wish he'd fix it. That's an unexpected pain in the butt.
  2. That reminds me of a guy that was at the university where I did my undergrad work. He NEVER wore shoes. Ever. He graduated at the same time I did, and I remember him walking through the ceremony with no shoes.
  3. Stupid glitch.
  4. I tried drinking some chocolate milk the other day, and it took me several different attempts to get the entire 16 ounces in, just because I couldn't drink more than a few sips at a time.
  5. I don't know what the heck it's doing! I keep typing P-R (maybe separating them will help), and it keeps putting "Page Ranking" when I hit submit reply.
  6. I seem to have problems getting cold foods like yogurt and ice cream down. Apparently, my band doesn't like them. I have to go REALLY slow if I want to eat them, and even then I can't eat a lot of it. Which is actually a good thing when it comes to ice cream, I guess. But even cold milk goes down slowly. It's kinda odd.
  7. Very true. I didn't even think about the estrogen in soy.
  8. What the heck? I KNOW I put "PR" in that post. Why did it change itself to "Page Ranking?"
  9. Oh! BTW, Nancy, thanks for mentioning alcohol allergy/intolerance in the other thread. I looked it up, and it really seems like that may be what is going on with me whenever I drink alcohol. Good to know!
  10. Well, the test tubes are very bad quality Protein, so I wouldn't go that route unless you had no other option. You don't want anything that's made with collagenic protein or Calcium caseinate (both are extremely low quality protein sources). The best is whey protein or soy (if you don't like whey). These are my favorites right now: nectar Fuzzy Navel (tastes a little like Welch's orange/pineapple/peach mixed juice, IMO) Matrix chocolate (good when mixed with sugar-free or full-sugar flavored syrup or powdered peanut butter) IDS Multi-Pro Whey Vanilla-Cinnamon (a little sweet on its own for me, but I've seen recommendations to mix it with coffee or a low-carb spiced chai mix) Whey Gourmet Chocolate Peanut Butter (yummy!)
  11. Or the ones in the bank drive-thru that wait until they get to the window or box-thingy to fill out the deposit slip or other transaction paperwork, after they've been sitting in line for 10 minutes.
  12. Oh, yeah. I definitely blame Britney's mom for a lot of what she's become. Like I said earlier, her mother being in the picture now (like a lot of people want) wouldn't do much good, since she didn't do anything when she actually had the legal right and responsibility to do something. What the heck can she do now, other than put a good PR spin on things?
  13. I'm in Tennessee/Kentucky (depending on which day of the week it is), and we've got the laws here, too. But they don't follow them. Oh, yeah, I believe you about the slow drivers. I keep telling my mom that she's a lot more likely to cause an accident driving slow like she does than if she would just drive the speed limit (she usually drives about 10 miles under the limit), just because she's causing a back-up and everyone has to switch lanes to go around her. I mean, I don't speed too badly. I try not to go more than 5 mph over the speed limit, just because I'd figure that it would always be my luck to get pulled over. I've only gotten two speeding tickets, one for going 80 in a 55 (the road looked like an interstate and I was distracted, talking to the passenger) and one for going 40 in a 25 (every local road but that one has a speed limit of 35).
  14. Like I've said on other threads, I like certain alcoholic drinks (when I can't actually taste the alcohol, of course), but the alcohol really throws me for a loop. Even after a very small amount, I get bad hot flashes, the sweats, feel like I'm about to puke or faint, etc. So I generally avoid it, as a rule. Once in a blue moon (maybe twice or three times a year, at the most), I will have something, but I used to stick to coke before banding and now stick to water.
  15. Honestly, I don't understand the logic either. It figures, though, that I always get behind the person that wants to dawdle in the passing lane when I'm in a hurry to get somewhere. What ticks me off even more are the semi drivers that decide to get in the passing lane when going up a long hill, even though everyone and their mother knows they won't be able to pass the car/truck in the slow lane.
  16. HELL NO! Like wrk-n-prgrss said, the way other people feel is their problem, not yours. You cannot control the way other people feel about or react to certain things. There are always going to be people that get jealous of other people. Their jealousy isn't the fault of the person that they are jealous of. And anyone who says otherwise is an idiot. Like I've told the people here that have said that they think I should keep quiet about my academic achievements, it isn't my fault that other people may not have done as well. I'm not responsible for them feeling like failures when faced with other people's achievements. If they aren't proud of what they've achieved, that's their fault, not mine. In the end, we only own what we do. We aren't responsible for other people, whether it's their successes or their failures. Chickie, you are one of the MAJOR success stories here. NEVER let anyone tell you don't inspire the other members here. I know you inspire me. Even if I never reach your level of success, I still know it's possible.
  17. You can't keep drinking protein shakes and still lose weight. This goes back to the whole "more calories burned than taken in" thing. It doesn't matter where you are getting your calories. If you burn more than you eat, you lose weight.
  18. Mmm, Sex on the Beach. Or pina coladas. Either would be good right now.
  19. Aww, KITTY! And BIRDY!
  20. I remember that we've disagreed over the surgeon's forcing patients to pre-pay the portion insurance doesn't pay, and I THINK we disagreed in the smoking ban thread (pretty sure it was you that I argued with, anyway, I know I argued with someone). I KNOW we've disagreed more than that, but I don't remember the rest of the threads.
  21. Um, possibly? In certain cases, anyway.
  22. I thought they only use "yunz" down here in Tennessee.
  23. I wouldn't mind having a band key-chain.
  24. I've actually done it while speaking instead of typing. Um, not the "spitting cum" part, but the words sounding or coming out like other words. I once told my teacher that "my eyes hurt." She heard "my ass hurts," though, 'cause of my accent. That one nearly got me in trouble.
