  1. Back to the original topic..... I am sick to death of Perez Hilton. And yet I go read his blog every day. It's addictive, I tell you.
  2. Oh, yeah. Well, at least you are lettuce-free now. And well-slept, hopefully. We really should talk Alexandra or Wheetsin into making your thread about Mexican surgeons a sticky in that forum. It really is a great resource, even if people are looking for US docs, 'cause all the same shit applies.
  3. Stupid post offices. Oh, well. As long as I get my samples. Anyway, got anything else for me to proof for you? I should be working on my thesis crap, but I don't wanna and you can't make me. :speechles
  4. I would imagine that it would be okay for a mushies stage, since my nutritionist recommended Wendy's chili for that. But if in doubt, it would definitely be good for the solids stage. I've never tried the liquid for the liquids phase (I didn't really have a liquids phase in my post-op diet), but I would imagine it would taste good.
  5. Well, get thee to a post office, woman! With the correct addresses!
  6. No, I get mixed classes. Some of them are very good students, ask questions, study, etc. Others are mid-grade. The rest are mediocre, at best.
  7. Now THAT'S interesting. I would like to SEE those harassing PMs, if you wouldn't mind. Anyone? Anyone? Wow, all I hear is crickets. Must be because I haven't SENT any harassing PMs in my life. I've BEEN harassed through PM, but I've never harassed anyone.
  8. Either way would probably be good. Whichever you want to do. If you send it to my parents, it will eventually get to me, since I visit them on the weekends fairly often. But, sending it directly to me is good too. I'm just like you when it comes to the samples, I'm afraid. I've got three packages of protein samples to send to people from here. One's been ready to go for about two weeks. I'm hoping to get to the post office tomorrow.
  9. Hey WASa, I managed to miss your packages last week. I'll probably be getting them this weekend, though, if my folks remember to bring them. It was two, right, one dry and one liquid?
  10. Yep. I've always said that I'll live vicariously through my brother and his wife whenever they have kids. That way, I can hand them back when they start screeching or leaking.
  11. Yep, that's why I'd rather not be around them. I always wondered what would happen if your kids were smart enough to know that you really can't do anything to them, and if they were smart enough to know how to manipulate other people and the system.
  12. Ditto about the pre-band eating. I ate at a fast food place 1-2 times every single day before I was banded. My favorites so far: Homemade chili (about 3/4 - 1 cup, depending on the time of day) Homemade macaroni and cheese casserole (about 1/2 - 3/4 of a cup) Green Giant peas in butter sauce (1/2 - 3/4 cup) Quaker Granola Bites as Breakfast or snack (1 packet) Homemade Kung Pao chicken w/ brown rice (about 1/2 - 3/4 cup)
  13. Well, I just tried the mixture of protein and the chai tea. I'm sure it would taste good if I had mixed it correctly, but apparently the water was too hot for the protein. It's a clumped up in a scummy layer at the top of the drink. Bleh! I'm going to wait until it cools down a little and then try to get it to mix better.
  14. I hit onederland this morning! :clap2:
  15. And that's the way it's been for every single post of hers that I have ever replied to. And the times I've actually conversed (if you can call it that) with her on the board could be counted on the fingers of one hand. So I don't see where she's coming from with these accusations. All I know is that one day, I started getting snotty, baiting posts from her and that's been the case in every single situation since. And I'm the one attacking her? Please. Contrary to what she apparently thinks, I don't seek her out.
  16. And the alternate might be true, too. She may have been rebelling because he was abusing her. I think the only thing that can really be done is to support your daughter, get into counseling, and hope that the police uncover the true story. Just tell her that her father has been accused of assault and that you are going to stick by her and support her, no matter what she feels.
  17. What the HELL are you doing, dragging ME into this? I have NEVER been anything but nice to you. Hell, I still remember the first time I ever got into a conversation with you. For some reason, you were being snotty. I didn't get it, at the time. I even thought, "Why the hell is this person I have NEVER seen before, NEVER talked to before, attacking me?" I don't know what the fuck your problem is, but it isn't mine. So leave me the hell out of your little imaginary feud, please.
  18. They might not be a showable example of the breed, but they are still considered that breed, though. I mean, they'd be considered pet-quality by the breeders, correct? They might not have the exact measurements or coloration of the breed standard, but they have the general over-all appearance of the breed they were produced from. I think we're debating two different aspects, really. I'm talking about the breed as a whole, not considering show-quality, that kind of thing. Just your general every-day breed. I think you are talking more about the actual show regulations.
  19. Could you put a picture of your baby in a post? I can't really make out much in avatars. We had a himalayan that we had to put down within the last year. He was a sweet heart. He lived at my dad's clinic, and would be mostly free to wander around the clinic. My dad used to cut his fur in a lion cut because he HATED to be brushed. We think one of his past owners probably waited too long to brush him, so he got a lot of mats that were very painful to brush out, and that's why he was brush-shy.
  20. That's true, but there's generally an acceptable level of variation, right? I mean, you're going to have some level of variation within a breed that is natural, it's just a matter of genetics. You'll have recessive genes that pop up every so often and cause the variation. But unless you can say with mostly certain accuracy that the offspring that are produced when you cross two purebred members of the same breed are all going to look like their parents, I just don't think you can reasonably call it a breed. I mean, if you cross two golden retrievers, you may get one or two offspring that are a slightly funky color or slightly smaller or larger than is the accepted "breed standard," but you aren't going to get offspring that looks like a bulldog. That's basically what I was referring to with breeding true. With these new "breeds," if you cross two labradoodles, you might get some offspring that look like labradors, some that look like poodles, and some that look like labradoodles. To me, at least, that's a higher than acceptable level of variation to be considered a true breed. I dunno. I think it's all screwed up, to a certain extent.
  21. Yeah, that's not working so well with this group. A guy that made a 31 on the last exam is one of the folks that emailed me today, asking me to send him the power point presentations. Of course, he did actually start coming to class after he got his 31. He's getting there, but I still think he's going to fail. He's got a 40-something average in the class right now.
  22. And you might like this. Remember the girl that was basically telling me to give her a B, because she's on scholarship? She's got an F for the course, so far.
  23. Mostly. It's a gen ed class, so I have a few upperclassmen that put it off until the very last minute.
