Holy cow, WASa!
Sadly, not really. The texture (oddly greasy) and aftertaste gets to me. Although, I think I'd eat a hundred of them before eating the bran stuff. That stuff literally tasted like saw dust. DRY sawdust, at that.

Can you believe this? Thanks, Laptbandtalk and Mindy!
I live in Richmond, just south of Lexington.

Slutty clothes for 5 year olds...
Yep. I'm sure that even in the Victorian era, people from a generation or two back were completely shocked by the styles that were popular.

Can you believe this? Thanks, Laptbandtalk and Mindy!
That's so great! A lot of the people here are incredible people that are really willing to help other people. For me, it's been WASaBubbleButt. We live across the country from each other (she's in Arizona and I'm in Kentucky), but she's been so helpful to me. We've shipped protein and other crap back and forth, and she's been such an inspiration. I'll probably make her blush when she reads this, LOL! :nervous

How will I know if something gets stuck
Yep, that's about it.

High impact sports w/ the band?
That's a relief. I think what I'm looking forward to more than actually being able to tube is being able to pull myself up on the tube from the Water. I haven't been able to do that for a few years.

How do you "doctor" your cottage cheese?
Honestly, I doctor mine by avoiding it entirely. :guess The smell of it alone is enough to make me gag, literally.

High impact sports w/ the band?
Has anyone talked to their doctor about this? Every summer, my family has basically a week-long reunion at a lake in Tennessee. One of the favorite activities is tubing behind a boat. Now, the way we do it, it's very rough. The whole intention is that the driver of the boat is trying to knock you off the tube, so he'll do just about anything within reason to do it (giant waves, sharp turns, knocking two tubes together, you get the picture). People have even gotten injured doing it. Why do we do it? It's a hell of a lot of fun. Now, obviously I wasn't able to participate this past summer, since I had just been banded for 3 weeks when the reunion rolled around, but I was wondering if it would be a good idea to do it next summer. When you come off the tube, you can land very hard, and there's a lot of bouncing on your stomach (I ride lying on my stomach). So, going back to tubing, starting next year, yea or nay?

Fred Phelps and Westboro Church
He and his followers are basically the scum of the Earth, IMO. Utterly disgusting people that use their religious beliefs to excuse their bigotry. Christians, my fat white ass. Every single person that is raising their children in that church needs to be prosecuted for child abuse, child endangerment, something. It's not right.

IRAQ WAR your thoughts
Hey, I think moral society has improved, for the most part. It's no longer considered acceptable to call someone a "nigger" or a "faggot." It's no longer acceptable for a man to hit a woman or to rape his wife. It's no longer acceptable for a white person to tell a black person to go to the back of the bus. It's no longer acceptable to.... Well, I guess you get my point. See, I don't wish for us to be back in the old days, because I know what else happened in the old days. And today is a much better time, IMO. I think anyone who looks at society 50 or 100 years ago and calls it "moral" is just wearing blinders. Sure, people didn't talk as much about sex or drugs or whatever, but it still happened. Add that to everything else that was acceptable in society back then, and you get a society that was most definitely not moral. The most you could say for it is that it pretended to be moral.

Dr. 90210/ Dr. Rey's wife-Halley
To be honest, that's what I wonder every single time I see him. He flames just a tad too much for a straight guy, in my experience.

I can't watch the show because of him. He's just a tad too weird for me.

Holy cow, WASa!
So far, I've tried the Parmesan Crisps, the bran stuff, and the Whey Gourmet chocolate.

IRAQ WAR your thoughts
Okey-dokie, here goes! :biggrin1: My translation of the previously posted email: "Them there brownies is invadin' GOD'S COUNTRY! An' it's all because o' them homos, Atheists, and loose wimmin! They be sinners! In the olden days, Americans knew how to torture folks! And they liked it!"

2nd slippage, considering bypass
Talk to Alexandra. I know that she had to have her first band removed earlier this year because of slippage and got a second one in August. She might be able to help.

IRAQ WAR your thoughts
My translation would probably get me yelled at by quite a few people. Especially since you could probably use "Dueling Banjos" as a soundtrack to it.

Anyone interested in hearing what I mentally translated the above email to mean?

Poll - what causes you the biggest problem to get down?
Soft bread gives me problems, so I avoid it entirely. Surprisingly, cold foods like milk, ice cream, and yogurt give me problems, also. I only eat those rarely, and I have to go very slow when I do eat them.

How often do you have a protein shake for breakfast?
Well, I was enjoying it for the first half of it, and then the cardboard flavor got to me. I had to choke down the rest of it. I think I'll stick to the choco/PB.

drinking with food - cereal loophole??
I have problems when I eat cereal with milk. For some reason, my body interprets it as drinking with food, so it almost makes me PB.

Should Medicare/Medicaid cover the band?
Very true. But I don't think that the people who are elligible for the program should be punished because other people aren't. Unfortunately, it's just the way our medical system works. Some people have access to procedures that other people don't. I don't know the answer to that problem.

How often do you have a protein shake for breakfast?
I dunno. At first taste, I kind of like it. Good color, very chocolatey-looking. Nice and thick, but not too thick. Not a lot of flavor, though. Doesn't seem to have a bad aftertaste. It's really rather bland, but I sorta like it because it doesn't have a lot of flavor. A lot of the stronger-tasting drinks just taste funky and off to me, since I am sensitive to artificial sweeteners and flavors. I'd drink it, I think. It's definitely not as good as the choco/PB, but it's edible, IMO. The more I drink it, though, it kinda tastes like liquid cardboard. But that isn't necessarily bad, considering what it could taste like. :rolleyes I'll have to try it with some of the syrups that you're sending and report back.

How often do you have a protein shake for breakfast?
Not yet. I'll go do that now and post again in a few minutes.

How often do you have a protein shake for breakfast?
Yep, it's awesome! But you can get it for cheaper at Netrition.com - The Internet's Premier Nutrition Superstore! (under the brand name PVL), and the shipping costs less (at Netrition, you can buy any amount of stuff and still only pay $5-$6 in shipping). I've been wanting to try the Cappucino flavor, but I've already got about 4 pig jugs, buckets, and bags of protein sitting in my living room (no room for it in the kitchen).

Should Medicare/Medicaid cover the band?
Well, I think that if they are going to pay for the bypass, they should definitely pay for the band. And I also think that, in the long run, they would be paying far less if they paid for WLS than if they didn't, if you consider all of the health conditions that obesity contributes to.
