  1. I just wanted to say that I LOVE the Bradenton area. It's one of my favorite spots in Florida.
  2. I sorta like "birdbrain," but that might be asking for it, considering the tone of the board lately.
  3. I'm not from Memphis, though, even though I would LOVE to live there. Crossville belle or Richmond belle doesn't have quite the same ring. :cry
  4. It's an awesome bird, if a little irritating when you have to be out in the field for 8 hours a day when there's a 100+ degree heat index, with no shade and no birds to be found. But it is a VERY interesting species.
  5. I'm hoping I can come up with a good one. I just haven't found one yet that really screams at me. I'm not the most creative person in the world, as evidenced by my current SN. :guess
  6. <!-- google_ad_section_end --> I would give it at least a week. You don't want to wait too long in case there's been a mistake and they haven't gotten everything they need, but you also don't want to start harassing them before they've even gotten a chance to look at the paperwork. Sometimes it takes a couple of days before the stuff that they've gotten has been entered into their computer system or has reached the correct person.
  7. That's a great idea! I'm starting to collect clothing that I can't wear anymore, and it would be wonderful to be able to pass it on to other people that could use it.
  8. Hee! I thought about "Butcherbird," but I'm not sure yet.
  9. Ha! Very cute, guys! I'm thinking about something related to the species I'm doing my thesis on, the LoggerHead Shrike. Maybe Laniidae or Spanish Mockingbird or something.
  10. Ha! :bounce::eyebrows: Hmm. No, I think I'm looking for something more ecology or wildlife related.
  11. Hmm, not a bad idea. I have a couple of cats named Mouse and Mini that I adore, so I guess I could use some combination of those. Or I could look up some odd scientific name for something. I'll have to see what I can find.
  12. Ditto. I'm not too much of a fan of other beans, but I absolutely adore edamame. I agree that a nutty flavor is probably the best way to describe it. Very mild, but delicious!
  13. Yep, edamame is extremely yummy. I swear that they're addictive! If your grocery store has a frozen organic/health-food section, you can probably find them there.
  14. It's nice to see you, too!
  15. I feel like changing my old one! It's incredibly boring and uncreative, and I want a new one, damn it! :heh:
  16. Eh, I'm pretty disfunctional and un-girly, apparently, when it comes to clothes. I have very little clothing that actually fits me, yet I still have a ful closet, somehow. I tend to just have a couple of pairs of pants/jeans that fit me and a few t-shirts, and wear them until they have holes in them and then buy just to replace the worn out ones. I have TONS of old clothing that are in smaller sizes, though, that still have the tags on them. I bought them during the "excited phase" of old diets, when I still thought I would be super successful. This is the first time in years that I realistically think I will be able to fit into them in the (hopefully) near future!
  17. You're welome! I know what you mean, Green. Sometimes I just want to give a giant "F YOU!" to everyone around me at Christmas.
  18. You're very welcome! This was the first year that I sent out cards. My hand was hurting by the time I finished writing, so I'm not 100% certain that I'll do it again!
  19. I would really like to be able to change the forum skin, like we used to be able to do. The ghost arm that the chick at the top has bugs me to no end.
  20. My go-to foods are frozen edamame (SO yummy!), nuts (mostly pistachios or pecans), and cheese. The only thing I've found that I have trouble eating is dry steamed broccoli and soft breads. And Combos, apparently, which I just found out this past week.
  21. Oh! I forgot! When you go shopping, try to find a Vanity Fair full-figure posture-support bra. They're underwire, but the one I got is one of the most comfortable underwires that I've ever worn. You may be able to get a smaller size in it, too. I had to get a 40C, 'cause the 40D (the size I wore in other bras) was too big.
  22. I just bought a few new bras (my old one - yes, ONE that still sorta fit me - was finally too big!). I got them at Macy's for 1/3 off. One was on clearance, too, so I paid $15 for it, I think. I'm pretty sure that all the ones that were 1/3 off were Vanity Fair. Do you have any outlet malls near you? You can usually find pretty cheap name-brand bras at them.
  23. It is SO good! That tea and Tazo's Organic Chai are my current tea obsessions at the moment. Well, those and my all-time favorite unflavored black tea, Twining's Prince of Wales tea. :hungry:
  24. As some of you know, I LOVE tea! My brother's MIL gave me a great tea for Christmas that I wanted to pass on to all of you. She gave me a tin of The Republic of Tea's Holiday Spice Comfort and Joy tea, and it is absolutely AWESOME. If any of you are Chai lovers, you will probably love this tea, too. I like it with a tad bit of sugar and some half and half or milk in it.
  25. And btw, it's so great to see all of y'all! I've was staying with my folks from around 12/14 till today. My parents' computer basically crashed (had a MASSIVE amount of viruses on it, according to the tech), so the only opportunity I had to get online was when I had the time to go to the local library or when I could get on my brother's computer when we were in Memphis for Christmas. Either way, didn't have a lot of time (managed to update my sig and check email, but that's about it).
