  1. I'm so glad to see you back, Lisah! You have definitely been missed around here!
  2. Damn. There aren't any even remotely close to me.
  3. That would be great! I'll PM you with my email address. Ideally, if I do it, I'd like to be in either Africa or the Pacific Islands, doing wildlife stuff, but who knows where they'd put me.
  4. Try keeping healthy foods around. Like someone else said, the 100-calorie packs are good, as well as edamame (soybeans). If you buy un-shelled edamame, it gives you something to do with your fingers, as well, and it makes it seem like you're eating a lot more than you actually are (which helps with head hunger). Plus, it's good for you and a very good source of protein.

Has anyone here ever been in the Peace Corps or know someone who has? I'm seriously considering applying, for when I get out of grad school. I've thought about it before, but always thought I was too fat to attempt it.
  6. I've got Nectar Fuzzy Navel, IDS Multi-Pro Whey Vanilla-Cinnamon, Matrix Chocolate, and Nectar Vanilla, plus some pre-packaged samples of Matrix Cookies and Cream and Nectar Strawberry-Kiwi, Roadside Lemonade, and Green Apple.
  7. I would think you'd need more than a week. Heck, I barely felt up to doing anything a week after band surgery, I can't imagine having a TT and going back after a week.
  8. Ooh. I may harass you for a sample of some of those! (Not that I need to find more Protein that I like, of course, since I still have 5 jugs of the stuff sitting around that I rarely use. :faint:)
  9. Which Whey Gourmet shakes did you get? The chocolate pb is probably one of the better Protein shakes I've tried, but the milk chocolate literally tastes like cardboard.

Definitely! My hair had finally stopped falling out, and then I found out that I'd probably need to find a new job. Apparently, my hair is VERY sensitive to stress and sheds like a Persian when I'm under any.

Job freakout over! :biggrin1: I was able to get a couple of labs to teach at my university for this semester, so I can stop pulling my hair out because I'm freaking out over having to find another job on such short notice. I'll be getting paid absolute chump change (considering that I wasn't even netting $800/month last semester, when I was teaching MORE :straight), but it'll let me stay close to the university, so it'll be easier to get my thesis finished. I'm hoping to find some part-time work somewhere in town this semester, just to help pay the bills.
  12. I definitely agree with this. I mean, I doubt people would look at it any more than they do the FAQ or anything, but at least it would be there.
  13. Thanks, guys!
  14. Stress can be a major contributing factor.
  15. Good for you!
  16. Hey guys, I need some help writing a cover letter for one of my job applications. It's for a position as a zoo keeper. Any pointers that y'all can give me would be greatly appreciated! I'm having the most trouble finishing up the letter. Here's what I've got so far (I'm stuck on the "In closing" paragraph):
  17. I think you are definitely in the right. There is no way in hell I'd stay with a man who spoke to me like your husband spoke to you. Call your landlord and tell him the situation, and try to get him as much money as possible. See if he'll agree to take your rent in several payments this month. If you have to, get an advance on your credit cards. This could have major effects on your credit score. But I seriously wouldn't blame you if you did move out for a while, at least to give you all some cooling-off time.
  18. I have a LOT of hair on my stomach. I joke that I've got a hairier stomach than a lot of my male relatives. Like other people have said, DO NOT shave it, that'll just make it worse. Once I save up a bunch of money again, I'm going to look into getting it lasered off, since I'm having such a good result with lasers on my facial hair.
  19. I THINK it's 50-100 left to lose.
  20. Just wanted to say that the new forums are very cool!
  21. Me, me, me!
  22. Ooh, sounds yummy, I'll have to try making it sometime.
  23. I'm mesmerized by your grammar icon!
