  1. Thanks for the tips girls! I for one enjoy lifting weights, and really don't care much for cardio. I told my trainer I need the cardio because that is my weakness, and if she let me all I would do is weight training. But I KNOW I need to incorpoate cardio to lose weight. I told her my goal is lose inches, because we all know the scale can lie. I have always wanted to be a runner, but I have never had the stamina. I gave my trainer the Couch to 5K program and told her I want to do that. lucy
  2. I need to understand this better. So, does one need to push the cardio and get the heart rate up, then do a few sets of weight training, then back to cardio at high intensity, then back to weights. Is that what you mean? I think this is basically what my trainer has been doing with me. However, she always asks me if I need a break or need to catch my breath after the short cardio burst. Thanks

Oh me oh my...it's my party and I can cry if I want too. Well, my kids are getting on my last nerve. I yelled at them this morning, then cried on the way to work because I yelled. But you know, they have forgotten all about it, I am the one that feels the punishment. My sweet little girls, I just love them so much it hurts. I have been really moody lately. Taking it out on my husband and weepy. My MIL wants me to take an antidepressent. She is a drug pusher:ohmy:. No not really, she works for a doctor and get's lots of samples. It is because the one year anniversary of my mom's passing is coming up and I'm taking it pretty hard. Let me just say it is so hard and hurts so bad. See, crying now. I just want my mom back. My weight is bouncing from 205 to 208. I am so close to being under 200 and it seems like I'm never going to get there. My DH weighs 215 and I weighed in at 208. We are officially in a race to see who can get below 200 first. I need to beat him so bad. I have never been able to beat him at anything. I want this victory! I have been working out with my personal trainer 2 days a week. I need to up my exercise at home and up my water intake. I think the lack of water in my diet may be part of the reason for my body not letting go. So, I am going to up my exercise and water. I am doing pretty well with eating the right foods and right amount. I really think water and exercise are going to help me beat him. Wish me luck Lucy

  5. Hey Jacqui, I don't know if you will see this, but I think you are awesome. I really respect every post I have seen of yours. You know your stuff about the lab band and how we must exercise. BTW, I have hired a personal trainer and feeling great. lucy
  6. Oh, I'm so sorry. I had just the oppopsite happen. Before banding I could devore any type of sweets. Espcially chocolate. But after banding, my sweet tooth has been tamed. Alot of things seem to rich for me. Now, I do sometimes indulge in some sweets, but nothing like before. I truly feel for you, because I know that sugar demon personally, and he is UGLY! lucy
  7. Oh yes, I cried as well. Especially when they were helping orange up the mountain. I was so proud of him. Yes, the green team memeber is kicking butt in the challenges and she weighed nearly 300 pounds...kuddos to her. But I do think she may have been up to something with the 1 pound weight loss last night. I cried when Brown team was talking about who to eliminate and how badly orange needed to be there. Jerrry did look good at the end..Go Jerry! Oh, me and DH laughed so hard when Joelle (silver) said "I beat the oldest and heaviest, there's no glory in that" It just struck us funny. DH said, she was so serious when she said it.
  8. Hey girl, I was checking out your blog yesterday and got distracted before I was able to post a comment. Good job on losing the 5 pounds that is awesome. I am in a stall myself right now. I am so close to getting under 200 but my body is holding on the fat for dear life...ugh! Congrats!!! Lucy
  9. I was also afraid that for some reason they would not be able to put the band in. When the nurse was waking my up, she said "wake up Lucy, your are banded". That was such a relief to me. I was also afraid of faliure. Even last night, I had a dream that I was not losing anymore weight, so I was looking into another WLS. Scarry, glad I woke up from that dream....but you see faliure is on my mind. Now, do I miss gorging on food. Sometimes, yes. But I am so glad that I cannot do it anymore.
  10. I think you just might be right. Didn't the doctor say something to the fact that "this just goes to show that WLS is not the answer" or something like that? Anyway, I love TBL and cried last night when some of them were crying at the weigh in. I could feel their pain. And when the fiance on the Red team was crying and said she could not fake her life anymore, the entire episode was moving and emotional last night. I don't like that they sent 9 of the home, that would suck soooo bad! I truly wish them all luck and hope they can change thier lives:smile2:
  11. I like the EAS Myoplex with 42g of protien. I'm having one right now because I had a fill yesterday.
  12. Just once, for about 1 hour and we just talked.
  13. I know, it is hard for me as well. I am working on it though. The getting and looking healthy comment is a great way to look at it. I get so upset at myself for feeling like I need to explain things. Anything...the other day, I deposited a large sum of money in the bank. I knew the teller, so I felt compelled to tell her how my grandfather had given me the money. I mean really....why did I tell her. She was not a freind, I just knew who she was. Afterward, of course I thought...I am such a goof! I am working on taking compliments and not explaining myself to people!!!!!!!
  14. Coming off slow! Girl you are rocking! Keep up the good work.

  16. Hey, your doctor will give you packet on what you can eat and what you can't eat. Follow it and you should be okay. I can tell that you are really scared of gaining the weight back. I think you are dwelling on that too much. For me, in my mind I do not even consider gaining the weight back, that is just not an option. I see this as my one and only chance to lose the weight and this is MY time. I WILL make it work, no turning back. keep positive, eat healthy and exercise. Lucy
  17. I am 5 pounds away from Onederland...I can see the light.
  18. I am so sorry you are going through this. I lost my mom nearly one year ago, it was very sudden and tramatic. I did not have the band at the time. However, I was eating healthy, exercising and losing weight. I had never felt better, well that all went down hill fast. I stopped working out and eating healthy, I totally went back to my old ways and gained a little weight back. It was June 08 when I had my surgery. Like everyone else said, go in and get a fill before it gets more out of hand than 20 pounds. Take care of yourself, be good to yourself, I'm sure that is what your mom would have wanted. Bless you,
  19. Glad you are doing good. I love my band and do not have any regrets.
  20. OOOHHH! That was just plain mean.....I would have probably had to say something back, and that is not even in my nature:mad2:.
  21. Oh, I am so sorry. I was looking at your pictures and you look really good. I'm sure you will not let yourself gain your weight back, think about how far you have came. I know I would be devestated if I woke up and my band was gone also. Try to stay strong and postitive. God Bless You,
  22. Hey I just wanted jump in here and say that I had my surgery done by Dr. Lutrell and so did my aunt. We both really like him, he is great and really good on the fills. I have not had to have another in nearly 4 months. Lucy
  23. Oh, I know isn't it wonderful to finally be in control of ones life and KNOWING that your life is changing for the better. I love it. My thoughts on missing all the goodies during the holidays is this...I have had all the goodies for years, everyday has been a buffet of eating what ever I want, this feels so much better. Good luck to you. Lucy
  24. Wow! I love your imagination...or maybe it's not an imagination at all...hummm? Great post.
  25. I guess in thinking about this question, I have told lots of people. All my family, some people at church, friends and neighbors. At first I was not tellng a lot of people, only family, but my husband was telling lots of people and he told me to be proud of it...so I went with it. I'll tell people and talk about it with those who I am close too and those who ask. However, I don't tell total strangers unles it comes up in converstation.
