  6. Marianne - You are right on track! You are walking and 1 week post op for you. That's how I did it. You go girl! I can't wait to see you in twoville, very soon I see. Walk walk walk...the lb's will just melt off and right now you are at a time where the weight will just fall off the first few weeks so run with that! Never look back. Niche - Wow! I have really short legs so anything over 4.0 mph is considered jogging or running for me. My walking pace is 3.2 - 3.6 but 4.0 ..and I'm jogging, 5.0 and i'm running. That's really good ..plus you had a 5% incline so that's even harder. Work it!
  7. Don't worry Doc, I take off 1 day every other week. We have to let our bodies rest up.....for 1 day ... Buhahahwhahahahahhaha.... (cracks a whip)
  8. Lordy, if I get up to 500 leg lifts a day... he'll think...no not think....................he will... look at me and think that I am :hungry: Give me a month or so to catch up to 500 freakin leg lifts. That's unheard of... lmao!
  9. Oh gosh Tricia.... I have to tell you that you have OFFICIALLY killed my thighs. But they sure are looking pretty sweet... and let's just say that last night.. the hubby couldn't keep his hands off *wink wink*

You are doing unbelievable! I admire your walking for 35 miles in 1 month that's a little over a mile a day. I wish others had your spunk too. Ah well..can't make people move...... but I'm glad were on the same team.
  15. HeatherGurl - The Elliptical is awesome huh? I think it makes us sweat more than the treadmill does. 5 minutes is an achievement, hell .....3 minutes on the stair stepper is a major achievement for me. Just think.... in a few weeks you'll be doing 45 minutes to an hour. FunniDuddies, I'm glad you are doing really well. Keep up the great work ladybug. Drinking, exercising, walking the kids..(can't believe they can walk a mile without complaining as young as they are). Also.. I use "DH" alot and I know it refers to "husband" but what the heck does the initials mean? Da Husband?? Duhh Husband?? De Husband? I don't want to be incorrect..

  17. Hey HeatherGurl, I don't consider it having balls... I am just soo tired of being fat and I am also impatient. Something went off inside of me after I got the band. I don't want to be obese anymore. I want to spend every moment and opportunity I can to get this s@$%t off of me once and for all. I'm pretty much in this alone at home and it's no picnic. I'm married into a family that cooks for an army and they eat REALLY big! Temptation on a daily. Husband just keeps bringing in junk food and it's driving me nuts so I spend my time doing things that will help me. It's not easy living with a man I love soo much yet.. I feel like he's doing everything in his power to try to sabatoge my weight loss. Examples: Cheetos, Doritos, Large tub of peanut butter, cake mixes and ice cream all in 1 week (last week). I just tire myself out and do stuff till I fall asleep. I tried talking about it to him and the kids. The kids were fine with eliminating junk but he's not. I was there where he is so I understand..., I am not forcefully making him give that stuff up b/c I understand. I love him, never called him fat and was never mean to him, just show him my disappointed face. :rolleyes It's not working yet, but maybe when he's really ready, he'll give that stuff up and come join me on a bike ride or a stroll every once in awhile.
  18. LOL Teresita, I believe you! You are doing fantastic as well. I love how you are working hard yourself ..all the while cheering everybody on. Multi-tasking at it's best!
  19. Hell yeah SusanP, I love your post! Especially the husband part! The way he looks at you. That's sexy! I'm getting this at home now too, though he doesn't comment on my weight loss, he does look at me alot more and very differently and I have to push him away at times now, cuz I'm just too exhausted from the workouts. Feels soo damn good.
  20. Very very very proud of you Em... You weren't lying when you said you would definately lose weight being at mom's house for the week. -3lbs is not easy to lose and I have to say you are hardworking. Way to go sis!
  21. I'm here! Success.. 5 weeks tomorrow and I'm down 37lbs with no complications so far. Scars look great and i'm feeling like a million bucks. I'm down to size 16 (loose now). Life is great. Thanks Plunderbunny.. good idea for a thread.
  22. GreatDame, Seriously... everyone has a different experience but be rest assured that just by reading the posts... the majority of folks are doing rather well. I'd say.. read all of it.. learn from us and our mistakes b/c you will clearly see triumphs, successful habits and major mistakes. Treat LBT as a "Q&A" site, with interativeness Don't worry about a thing. Go into it with confidence. I myself am doing ok.
  23. My opinion.... CASH IS KING and the doctor knows it. I wouldn't trust him b/c he knows insurance will cover it and if he'd be willing (opinion) to stress you out with your weight loss while milking the insurance company 6 - 8 times per year ($5k). His work ethics is definately questionable. Since we will never know for sure what exactly he is doing or not doing (medical records are falsified..trust me, I know first hand, I'm a medical consultant and I do chart audits and private investigations) unless OIG (Officer of Inspector General) and your state's Insurance Commissioner got involved and conducted an investigation and maybe pull together patient records..did statistics of all patients, zoning in on patient's complaining of the same issues, you probably should look for another doctor. If you do look for a new doctor, he/she should be big in the banding community. A doctor with a high success rate of weight loss from his patients, with happy results from fills...may not be as reliant on the constant insurance money.. instead, more interested in the success of his patients, hence getting more referrals and making more money. Everything I said above is opinion and based on my experiences in the medical field... I know that not every doctor is crooked. There are thousands of exceptional doc's out there, but then there are the opposite. This isn't the first time I'm hearing this being said on LBT, in fact I read this same kinda story on 3 different occaisions in the past 2 weeks. It kinda makes you wonder.....gotta question leakages.... and non working bands, multiple surgeries, corrections......... should probably compare and contrast foreign country surgeries v/s USA surgeries to see if there is a major difference between the two.. Mexican based docs are prob not worried about money cuz they are all cash anyway and they just want to perform the surgery well and get you on your way, thinking you'll never probably come back, v/s USA docs who need the continued business and income and ... well, you get what I'm saying.
  24. I love that with every 5lbs I lose, I feel that those lbs are really..."GONE FOR GOOD" I'm a happier wife, mother and friend every day. I have you guys to thank for this b/c if not for this forum and this thread and a few others, I'd not have learned all I have learned so far and I wouldn't know to push myself to get to my goal as much as I do now. Reading and connecting with people motivates me and makes me want to strive to do more and to be better at myself. I don't really have the right words to express what I'm feeling at this very moment. I am more hopeful about myself than I have ever been in my entire life. I know that you may be tired of hearing about my crazy bike rides but I need to share this with you guys... The past 2 weekends, when I rode those miles, each time I did.. I wanted to quit about 75% of the way through it. My legs ached, shaking soo badly, the sun was harsh on my cheeks and arms, the wind.... fierce as it pushed against me. Last 5 miles are the worst for me. I'm soo close to home yet soo dead tired. As I rode the last few miles and I began to feel numb and running on empty, I kept thinking about my friends here on LBT. I also think about the people that aren't able to do what I'm doing... health wise. I want to confess that the last weekend and yesterday, I cried soo hard the last few miles:think It hurts soo badly.... yet I felt an overwhelming feeling of love, accomplishment, drive and determination. I could see all of your faces. Thank you friends...for pulling me through the last stretch of miles as I rode alone, almost wanting to really give it up.
  25. :cry :think Thank you. Though I feel strong about myself, I did need to hear this. Thank you.
