  1. I go to a Ladies Boutique called CATHERINES also on line. They have the market on Raglan sleeves. Or 3/4 sleeve if your not familiar with them. I know it's to hot now, but Fall, Winter, Spring I love to live in them, and their choices, and style are very nice. If you have not shopped there before, then I would stop in and take a look, or check out on line. It's nice stuff. It helps hide all the skin. Nicer cloths in the store, then on line..
  2. I could use a little help here. I can't edit my posting, and I would like to rate the Dr..... Get back if you can. Shirley.
  3. Hi Sabrina ! Just thought I would let you know that most of us are here to talk with, and support ! So,,,, keep in touch O.K.,,, because we are around here ! Shirley.
  4. The Surgeon messed up, and thought he blew the band. I gained back over 120lbs.. A different surgeon found there was nothing wrong, and he just put me in the Red Zone for about3 yrs...... So now I am getting a second chance. Like I said though I went back to 1200 calories a day and it helps. This is part of my solution to the problem. I am sorry things went bad for you, but I went threw the pain too. Then I wanted the piece of Garbage taken out, if it couldn't be fixed. I was ready to do this, and then join weight watchers. It was a plan. It was filled, and works..... It's safe to say that I have a idea of what you are going threw, So you have to have a back up plan, and weight watchers is a good start. I wish you luck, and please count those calories or points. Shirley.
  5. Where I was banded. I have seen people over 600LBS. , and they were told you got to get down to 500LBS., because that is the most the surgical table can hold. So while in the waiting room, of course we all talk about our success. The majority of those people were Lap Band patients ! I thought for sure they were Bypass,,, but NO WAY ! they wanted the Band, and were doing Great in their WL journey. So it's doable ! Mine asked me on the way to surgery. "LET ME DO THE BYPASS ON YOU ! ! ! NO ! and I am glad I didn't go with his idea. Like he told me If your not losing weight, you can come in, and I can adjust you... Yeagh? With the Bypass, once your done, your on your own... I'd rather make sure it's going to work.
  6. Is Monroe La. near you? If so google Fill Center USA, click on location, and type in your zip code. Usually all these places do are fills. So if you need a Dr. ,,, you will have to find one. I would call the hospital up, and get a copy of your records, and surgical notes. That way if you look for a new Dr.,,, they will see what they are dealing with. MAKE COPIES! Once you turn them over to someone, there's no getting them back. Hope it Helps, Shirley.
  7. I have 1 shake a day, and the rest is consumed in food. I use ground turkey, Beef, Pork, Chicken, Fish, Shellfish, Tuna, Egg, cottage cheese, cheese, yogurt. Just to name a few. As long as the meats are moist, or have a dipping sauce, I don't have a problem.
  8. i was on a 12 month preoperative diet do to ins.... My surgeon started me on 1200 calories a day. To this day I still stay on the same thing. Whatever you did while you were banded: diet, journal, exercise, etc.. keep track of it now, just like you did before. If you stick to everything the same. Weight should not go on. But Weigh yourself weekly, and keep your eye on it.
  9. I had the same problem too, and was given the same advice. But play it safe, and call your Doctor, just to make sure.
  10. Well since the Insurance Company only pays the Dr. a piece of what he is billing for..... Then we should only have to pay a piece to the Ins. Company, instead of increases... Makes sense to me...
  11. You just keep Faith, and Plugging along. It doesn't matter how you get there, just as long as you arrive.
  12. You need to heel before you can eat all that ! I know you don't want to hear that,, but you don't want to hurt yourself either. I used Lipton cup of Soup CREAM OF chicken it took away the hunger for me. Your shakes, If they are high in Protein should help to. Eventually you will have thicker Soups that do the job. Then thank God for the mushie stage. But we all had to go threw this. I know it's rough,,,,, but hang in there ! You can do this !
  13. Burping is good for you, and normal. You just got new plumbing, and as long as the air can come up "BURP" your pipe is clear. Get stuck, and you will wish you could BURP !
  14. Glad to see your post that you are fine, for just having Surgery ! You are doing all the wright things, so just keep it up..... Shirley.
  15. You need to find another Dr.... I went threw a very similar situation, so I know what your talking about. I did a post on here titled I want this piece of Garbage taken out ! After I posted it, a Hospital called me up, and said we are going to accept you as a patient, and have a appointment for you For a Fill done under Fluoroscope, or Revision surgery if necessary. It turned out all the problems with the band were do to bad aftercare. There was nothing wrong with the band, and I was stuck too, all the time. They filled me to my fill line, and it works ! So you have to have your records, and your Post Op Notes (these are very important!) Also make copies, because a lot of Doctors will say that they will not touch someone else's mistake ! THAT"S EXPECTED ! It will take you some time, but eventually someone will take you in, and check you out, and straighten you out. You asked for help ! That's the best help that I know of. So Good Luck with your research, and I wish you well. Shirley.
  16. I am losing weight, so my larger stuff is starting to fall off. I have some size 20 Jeans, but to tight yet. So, I know a lot of people are just starting out in this size, where I have busted my BUTT to get here. So I am now in need of Jeans Especially for the fall. Up here in Northern, Michigan,,,, Fall can be very early. I am only 5'3" so petite would help, and I have large Legs, so wide would probably be the best choice. So,,,, between all the people who belong to this site. I hope someone has a pair or 2 of Jeans, that would fit me. Thanks, and Let me Know, Shirley, Email me @ 54stasevich@gmail.com
  17. That is totally Fantastic Jen ! Congratulations ! ! I know my husband is on a few of them, and I sure wish he could get off some of them, but that's not possible for him. He would have to have WLS, and still no guarantee for him. But that is super great to hear for you ! Just keep on doing what your doing. Cause you're doing the wright thing..... Shirley.
  18. How long since you seen your Dr.? I would go in and see him.
  19. I went for a fill on Monday. Spent 3 days on liquids, Then yesterday was on mushies. Today my husband took me out to dinner, and I was nervous. I had some Fish, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy. and broth. Now I couldn't eat all that, but the broth, and some of those Potatoes were good Then came the Fish ! I was still nervous.. I took a piece, and chewed, and ate slow. It went down like I was drinking Water. Not a problem at all ! So it was nice to go out. But even nicer to know that, If you follow the rules, it should work out for you. What's your Rules, when it comes to a Fill? / Does it work for you? Shirley..
  20. Congrats !, HAPPY BIRTHDAY ! Are you ready for a NEW LIFE ? I hope So, because it already STARTED ! ! ! ! I hope you lose what you want, Shirley.
  21. Also,, have you ever had your Thyroid Level checked? It's just a tube of blood, and they can tell if you have a problem or not. If you do, there is Medication to help regulate the Thyroid, which will add to your weight loss. "IT HELPS !" You mentioned that the girls are heavy and the boys are skinny. Sounds like my house growing up, and yep I have a Hypothyroid. It is now under control with medication. I too have lost and gained. With the band, once they start giving you fills, your hunger will go away. But that takes time. In the mean time you will learn to eat differently, and get by with that. If you are still hungry you will have sugar free puddings, yogurt etc. in your fridge to help you But you got to get there, then we can throw some ideas your way. In the meantime google Fill center USA. it will ask for your zip code, put it in and you will see where the nearest fill center is to your location. Good Luck on that one ! Hope you get Lucky, Shirley.
  22. Just so you know,, this is the way it works. Anytime your band is adjusted so filled or unfilled. Swelling is involved. So you want to stay on liquids for 3days, then 1 day mushies, then try food. That's the way it's done at our place, and it works pretty good. If you still have swelling,, then back to liquids for even a week. Then see about the mushies, then food. Remember to chew, chew, chew. Eat s l o w l e y. Take your time, put the fork down, and wait to see if it all went down. Then start to eat again. But the Veterans are wright ! Liquids for a while, or you could swell up if you eat to soon, and then you start all over again. If none of this works (IT WILL TAKE TIME!) then call your Doctor.
  23. Because you even bothered to write, and search this site out, enquire about it. That tells me that deep inside,,,, you know the answer... That is for you to face, and come to Grips with. you have Twins, do you want to be able to keep up with them. Then you know the answer. You have to figure it out.
  24. Some how I keep coming up with the name Welcome to the Jungle ! Seeing where its placed, then the construction itself, all the scar tissue they keep telling me I have ! ! ! It's a Jungle in there... So from the Starvation Nation,,,, I choose "Welcome to the Jungle!" A bit long but appropriate.
