Is this what being "stuck" feels like???

I felt like I couldn't breathe! Or burp! Which I seem to do constantly! Is all this burping NORMAL? Even now I'm having trouble with the small sips of protein shake-like no more will go down unless I burp! WHAT is this? Let's just say that I'm now uncomfortably aware of "The Band" in my body.. ..Is this what real restriction will feel like? Oh, my..(I haven't been filled yet..)

Yes, the burping is normal! Whether that's the stuck feeling, I can't tell you, but the burping is very normal. I do it less now than I did right after surgery, but I'd say I still burp more than I used to pre-surgery.

I don't think this would be considered being stuck. You would be stuck with a solid-not a liquid. If you were stuck with a solid then a liquid would be very difficult to drink.

I think when you said you drank the shake too fast that was the cause of your discomfort. I use to getthat feelin-almost like a lump in my throat. There are quit a few signs that the band let you know it's there!

Sip your drinks and chew your food-there's no fooling the band! lol

Thanks, guys..I have definitely learned from my experience!..lol... I DO NOT want it to EVER happen with solid food! The thought really scares me, so chew thoroughly and slowly I will......:)

Burping is good for you, and normal.

You just got new plumbing, and as long as the air can come up "BURP" your pipe is clear.

Get stuck, and you will wish you could BURP !

When I get that lump feeling, I'll pat my tummy to encourage a burp. Sometimes you will take too big a gulp of something and have a mouthful of air with it. It is uncomfortable/painful. Shakes being very thick, need especially small sips while you are learning your new eating habits.
