Mushies....what do I eat!?!?
Tuna Salad, Chicken salad, egg salad, scrambled eggs, poached eggs, S F Pudding, Applesauce, cottage cheese, yogurt, cheese sticks, Soft baked fish, hearty soups, mashed potatoes, gravy, anything low in calorie, then you can put in a blender or food processor, and pulse it up to the consistency that you want, just make sure there is some gravy or juice in it for moisture.

Getting Stuck- is it a choice?
It sure is ! It depends on a lot of things. The tighter you are, the better your chance of making a mistake, and then getting stuck. Eating to Fast, To Big of pieces, talking while eating like at a Restaurant.. (you lose focus at what you should be doing, then oops it went down, and your stuck !). These are just a few key factors. I noticed then when I am not so tight, The food goes down easier, and I have a lesser chance of being stuck. The downside to this is you feel hungry more often. So,,, you have to learn control, and to live with it. If you get stuck allot, sometimes you end up getting unfilled, just so they can get the swelling down.

What did you first eat?
I ate scrambled eggs, and mushie food. Remember to eat your Protein first, so that's for Thanksgiving too. Pasta is one of those things I stay away from... Bread, and rice is another. You will find out what you can, and can not eat.

Shopping for cloths.
I have a Wedding to go to the Saturday after Thanksgiving. So I thought I would shop for some Cloths. I found a Beautiful Floor Skirt that was a size 18w, and I was thinking I don't know, Your suites are 22! I decided to buy it. Got home slipped it on, and it was a little lose,, I was happy, but i want the proper fit. So It has a tie, so I tied it and put in a nice Bow. Then I said I have to get a nice Blouse, and shoes for this. So I slipped of the skirt only then to find the ZIPPER. That's to lose ! So I will have to take it back, and start all over again. This time, I will stay in the stores until I get a complete outfit for the Wedding. But yes down from a 22 to a 18... "YES"

So discouraged
You are eating to much... Maybe when you get another fill, you will feel restriction. Tell your Dr. or who ever does your fills, that you want a glass of Water, and adjusted sitting up ! They will give you the fill, but don't let them take the needle out of the port yet ! Let them give you a little more so that when you swallow, it will start to feel hard to do. With your hand, motion to back off, and with your thumb up , tell her to back the plunger up. as soon as it drops threw. O.K. with the hand, because your still drinking. That will get you some restriction for starts. (I just had a adjustment like this last week, and I feel good.) It's not about the numbers that much, because were all different. So it's more on how you feel... Go to myfitnesspal.com and sign up. It's FREE ! You can view other peoples Diary there, and see what they are eating. Record your own calories, Protein, exercise, and it's kept in memory. Also if you see something interesting, you can chat with that person. /I am Losingintime on that site. look me up and I'll friend you in. You need more exercise also. Remember, calories in, and calories out Hope some of this helps. Just asking,,, Ever had your Thyroid tested ? It's just a Blood Test. You might ask your Doc. when your there some day. Shirley.

Depression and the band (not related)
Those of us that were Morbidly Obese, are all depressed. It's a Hormonal thing, where everything is out of whack. Once you lose weight, and your Body gets back together, you lose the Depression that is do to weight gain. Any other type of Depression ? I can not comment on.

BAND TOO TIGHT??
That's not what this Band is all about... I like mine a little snug, but,,, I just had a unfill for being to tight., and I feel allot better. I have been there where I couldn't swallow saliva, and the surgeon thought he blew the band... It's a terrible feeling. Don't these people think about the Band being to tight, and doing Damage to the stomach, then as a result,,, it has to be removed.. They are Blind to the way this Band Works, and there surgeon is a Quack ! He's got to be crazy to keep tightening them up like that. I know it's a Money Maker, but that's ridiculous. I'm glad you have the common sense not to go down that street, and realize, that they are the ones that are wrong... Hope your feeling better, with a slight unfill. Shirley.

Totally Confused!!
I am tighter in the Morning, like most Bansters are. I open up a little more buy Noon- 1:00 P.M.... But by the evening I am starving. Sp I stay between 800-1200 calories a day, to keep consistent with weight loss. I have been tighter, and I can't eat or drink in the morning, or afternoon. I would open up around 7:30 P.M.... I think I'll stay where I'm at... warm Tea, or Hot chocolate helps to open you up.. Any warm liquid.

Can you take pills after surgery???
I ended up taking some big pills while I was in the Hospital for another matter. They got stuck ! I had to go down state to my Bariatric clinic, and they took 1/2 of my fill out do to swelling. So yeah ! you can get stuck.
-
Fill - Has this happened to anyone else?
Here is a pretty good rule that I follow, and if it don't work ! then I know I'm to tight. Anytime you get a adjustment at all ! Liquids for 3 days, mushies for 1 day, then try food. Usually by that time,,,swelling is down. If you sneak, or cheat, and throw up or gag. Then because you are swollen, you ave to start all over again with the 3 day fast.

Fill Advice Please
You can let him fill you with a little more then 1 cc, and have a glass of water for this. They will put fluid in while you sit up and drink, then when it gets to feel tight, motion with your hand to back off, and they will take it out until you feel comfortable. I just had a fill done last week this way. It's not uncommon, and somewhere with your Band ,you will have this done. They can open, and close you up while you are drinking to your feeling ! Not just a number. It worked out nice....

Obtaining Health Insurance After Getting Banded
Out of Detroit I use to have H A P / Health Alliance Plan Location W. Grand Blvd. Detroit, Michigan. They are a firm believer in prevention is better then cure. The Hospital that they recommend is right across the street. Henry Ford Hospital COE. I'm sure there are others but you might have to inquire They took care of mine, and also replaced both knees. So they are out there, just hard to find. I guess.... Also Medicare will pick up the bill for WLS. They also pay for my adjustments. You might want to give them a call, and see what they will cover..

Who's has experienced a New NSV Lately ?
I was out at a Restaurant today for Lunch, when a Older Lady that I see every now and then came up to see me. She asked me if I finally got down to the size I wanted. My Husband opened his mouth and said " Oh No !,, She will not stop yet ! She has a long way to go !" He was as proud as a Peacock ! So I looked at her and said no not yet ! and her mouth dropped, then she said to the Restaurant "DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH WEIGHT SHE LOST ? SHE LOST A LOT !" Then she said well,,, I guess you know how much you wan to lose. I just nodded my head, then said see you again. So chalk up another one.... They have really been coming lately...
