  1. Go to myfitnesspal.com it's Free, and you can see other peoples Diary, and it gives you a idea how many calories a day to Consume Daily. I give myself a window between 800-1200 calories a day I find myself comfortable at 900-1000 a day though. and 60-80 G of Protein. You can go on that site, and set yourself up, and you will be ready to go. I am Losingintime on that site. Send me a message, and I will Friend you in. The Starvation Nation is No way to do this at all ! Go on and view my Diary, and see what I had to eat today. I'm content, and under my daily calorie intake. That = weight loss. Check it out if your tired of starving.
  2. Any soup strained. If you can have Cream of Soups, they last a little longer,. Chicken soup homemade is the best. Warm Tea, Chrystal Light, Sugar Free Popsicle s , Shakes, S.F. Jello. That's a start for whats classified as clear liquids. If he says plain Liquids, then anything in liquid form. Even if you juice it yourself. Also S F Pudding, Yogurt, and if you make your shake with less water it will thicken it up. No change in calories or protein. Same as if you have to thin it out after surgery..... No change at all.
  3. I know what you mean... I heard a lot of crap for having it done, even though they told me I looked good ? Weather they liked it or not, or approved of it or not. I did it for me ! I planned on living a while. Now people are starting to tell me that I look good again, and the biggest NSV that I got the other day, was that someone wants to come over to my house, and talk to me about the Band, Because they have seen the success, that I have had, and they know that I did the right thing.... How's that for a Twist in the Band Story.
  4. A lot of that all depends on how tight you are... I went in for a unfill Because I was to tight, and couldn't swallow my pills. I eat Breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and I drink with my Band. I also have room for a slight snack if still hungry, But I hang around 1000-1200 calories a day. I'm use to being tighter, and I might go in eventually for a fill. That will depend on the weight loss though. If nothing is happening after 2 months, then yep, a small tweak will do the job. If it's working ! Then I am hanging where I am at.. Of course Exercise does help allot. They go hand in hand.. Be honest ! I lost the weight before, many times,,,,,,,,,,,,, But, it always came back.. If you stick to a plan, and are not Hungry, or that Hungry. YES ! it works ! If you want to YO-YO Diet, then you will do that without the Band. If you could eat the same amount as before you were banded, and you had proper restriction.... I would tell you you need to get in and see your Dr., Because something is not right ! It's not possible... There are sites to help you keep in check ! Like myfitnesspal.com It counts your Calories, Protein, Exercise for the day, and as long as you stay under your calorie intake, you lose ! Everything is in Memory also. As food addicts (I AM ONE.) Like any other addict, it's easy to fall of the wagon. Very hard for me to get back on,,, With the Band, If I eat something that is like a trigger food, the next day I am back on track. So in all Honesty. I believe it works ! I know it's working for me, and a lot of people on this site can't be wrong... I am a two time loser, and it's coming off !. Where before the surgeon made a bad call and deflated me, I regained almost everything that I lost. This time it was all Band not 12 months of Dieting before surgery. So yep it works. Remember ! The Band is Maintained by your Dr.... That's why you will have success. Shirley.
  5. It is really Happy Dance time... Good Luck to the both of you, cause your really on your way to success...... Shirley.:::party::::party::::party:
  6. Yay ! for you from me.....::That's well worth the Happy Dance in my opinion.. What was your starting weight, and how long did it take you to hit Onderland ? Congrats again, Shirley.
  7. I had to do 12 months. When I started out I weighed 356, then down to 223 at time of Banding. I was still close to 100lbs. overweight, but now you must have a certain BMI at the time of Banding. (i guess it depends at the Ins. that you have.) I would check with the person who takes care of the Ins., The Dr., and nutritionist, and the Ins. Company ! If it's true then take your time with the diet, and you only need to worry about the 2 weeks of liquid. But find out first. I did 1200 cal. a day 50G of Protein. Shirley.
  8. Hi Q-tee. First of all remember,, this is a very slow process.. If you are doing 1-2 Lbs. a week, It's Normal. Now with the healing, and the stalling out that your body can do.. Don't worry about it ! I know that you are, and I think I can hear you too ! ! ! LOL. Eventually it will start to come off. In the meantime don't get hung up on the scale to much, instead watch your cloths sizes shrink. That's better then the numbers on the scale. Sometimes when we stop losing weight, we start losing inches. We keep going back and forth. That's how it works. So your still losing, but getting bummed out because of the numbers. Get away from the obsession. I give myself a window in calories of 800-1200, but am most comfortable 900-1000. 60-80G of Protein, and I don't worry about the rest. Plus I work out. You have to if you want to lose weight. Good Luck, You'll get there, don't worry to much. It will jump start eventually. Maybe stay under your calorie goal, Good habit to follow. Shirley.
  9. Whatever you have wrong, at the time of surgery, your Dr. will more then likely fix.. If it is Gallbladder, (someone asked me if it felt like a Heart Attack? I said yes !) You will feel a lot better with it out. Hernia Repair (Don't do lifting..) If you will be looking at 400Lbs. You have to just give it a quick thought on if you want to live or not ! That's a whole different story then surgical repair, and removal. I had the Lymph nodes in the Groin removed, (he thought they were cancerous, ) and a Hernia repair that was dug out, and the flesh seared to seal the tear the size of a fist... Ouch ! I weighed 356 at my highest weight.... But I could not be healthier, it was the right move. Don't make a mistake ! Get yourself fixed up.. Any questions ? email me, and I will answer if I can. Shirley.
  10. Also,,, I know you might find this hard to believe, but talk to your Dr. about Peri Menopause. Some women start at about that age. I'm no Dr., but been there, and done that. Have a good talk and get educated a bit, it doesn't hurt to know. I knew by mood swings, then long or short or nothing in a period. Just a little advice for your own self. Shirley.
  11. If I were you,,, I would call my Dr. just to see what he says. Maybe he will prescribe a liquid Medication for you... Shirley.
  12. A BIG CONGRATS ! You deserve it... Imaine how you will feel on your next Bandiversary ! Pretty Good I'm betting....... Enjoy your day, and accomplishments.... Shirley.
  13. Congrats to all you 11-11-11 Bandsters... You will never forget your date of getting Banded that's for sure.... To the rest of you November Bandsters ! Either congrats on getting Banded... the ones getting Banded,, See you on the Losers Bench..... Congrats November Bandsters, You'll go far ! Shirley.
  14. The fills do not hurt... Some Dr.s put a needle of numbing medicine under the skin, just to get a needle for the fill.... I tell them why get 2 needles ? Just pop threw the Fat, and into the port. A slight prick, but no big deal.. Yeah. you have no fill! so you will be able to eat anything. I see here in the states most Dr.'s give fill after fill, until you are happy. When they really can put you under Fluoroscope, (X-RAY MACHINE) and look at your band, see your fill line, and fill you rite to it. That's it ! your properly filled... Maybe you can get that done Down Under.. Good Luck, Shirley.
  15. Lymph-node Removal, Hernia Repair. Ouch !
  16. Take a bottle to your Dr., and show him what it is, and get his 2 cents... I hate vinegar.... YUK !
  17. I bought Organic soups in a quart size box Red Pepper tomato is great, Cream of Mushroom is good too. My protein shakes,,, I added less water to thicken them up just a little, to take the emptiness away. Hope those tips help.
  18. My Doc said No Caffeine period. So even my Tea is Decaff.... He said it stimulates the juices in the stomach, and as a result can cause Acid Reflux. Even from Chocolates...
  19. I shoot for 60-80 G of Protein a day.
  20. Go to your jeweler, and have him put in a bridge. It's Temporary until you get it sized. This way you can keep it on your finger. A chain is nice, but in this day and age ! It's a easy target for someone to grab, and run with. Thats kinda why you don't see that to much anymore. It's better on your finger. Congrats! on the Engagement.....
  21. Welcome to the Losing side.... Were all here for each other. That's for EVERYONE ! So Welcome Aboard... Shirley.
