  1. I use Dr DeWitt and love him and I live in Montgomery also. I knew that he charged $100 for fills, but I did not know that he would not file insurance for it. My 2 fills have been included so far because of being within 90 days. Did your wife file with insurance for the $100 to insurance?
  2. How many have had Gall Bladder Surgery. Did you have it after/during/before the lapband surgery? Did you have any issues afterwards .. nausea .. dirreaha, etc Reason I am asking. My surgeon wants to remove my gall bladder next week. My wife found a few people had good results afterwards, but alot of people were miserable afterwards. I have some small gall stones, but they don't show to be inflamed. I am having alot of pain though.
  3. I would not eat anything except for the soup. Your stomach is still healing and I would not want to risk problems. I don't know what is in the mo po tofu .. but that might be alright. The lettuce is too soon. It also has the crunch rise noodles which will be bad.
  4. I eat either yogart or boiled eggs or scambled egg and turkey sausage. I like Jimmy Dean Turkey sausage best. It is pre cooked and tastes the best that I have found with precook turkey sausage. I drink 2 cups of nescafe Tasters Choice Def coffee (singles) with a Spenda Mocha flavored sweetner and coffeemate singles creamer.
  5. www.sparkpeople.com You can track everything you take in. You can also track exercise, get recipes, etc. It is free. I have been using it and loving it.
  6. I was on 5 days of high protein ... low carb diet followed by 2 days of liquids.
  7. You might check out www.sparkpeople.com You can find exercises for the abdomin. They have video demos of the exercises that will help in demostration. You can keep track of what you do there also. It is free.
  8. I did not get the full feeling until after my 2nd fill. My 1st fill, I felt restriction for 2 days and then none after that. I stopped when I felt I had enough calories/carbs/protein for the meal. It is a tool by restricting food intake after some fills usually and once at the sweet spot giving you the full feeling. It will not work by itself. You must follow the doctors and nutritionist dietary plan, you must exercise and you must drink plenty of fluids each day. If you don't, you probably will not lose the desired weight you want.
  9. Basically, good suggestions so far.. Eat high Protein low carb meals Exercise .. if nothing else walk 1 hour a day Drink 64 ounces a day of Water Get enough sleep at night.. Keep a log of all your food and Fluid intake. Good place for this is www.sparkpeople.com
  10. GET ERROR MESSAGE You don't have permission to access /servlet/Images/photos2400/2/52/90/67/57/4/457679052206_0_BG.jpg on this server.
  11. I used to be a person who slept on top of the covers, even in winter. I now sleep under the covers and use a space heater in the room with me at night when I sleep. I drink coffee at night now where I never did before.
  12. I am happy that the person has not had to have a fill. Currently, there is no restriction. If you can get to your goal without a fill, then the band is not being utilized and the person could of saved the time, expense, and pain without having the tool installed. The surgery caused this person to have a mindset change, but this could of been done without the surgery if the person achieves the goal weight without any fills. I hope the person achieves her goal weight without a fill. I would like for you to tell me how I was sliming and PB'ing this individual.
  13. If you can reach your goal without a fill, then there was no need in getting the surgery.
  14. I use sparkpeople.com for keeping track of what I eat. Some restaurant foods are listed. I do not eat out much, so I really don't have a problem with this yet. I know there are some PF Chang dishes among some other restraurants.
  15. Which band do you have, Realize band or Lapband?
  16. Just curious .. If you had had your port flipped, please respond in the poll whether it was a realize port or Lapband port.
  17. Wow .. 5 plans to choose from. I am curious, what 3 bcbs plans did you have to choose from.
  18. Y A H O O ! ! ! Just follow the pre-op diet. It is designed to reduce your liver size and make things easier for the surgeon and less pain for you.
  19. My instructions were not to use them for 6 weeks. After that, it was fine.
  20. I have Anthem Blue Cross of California and they cover Lapband and RNY and maybe some others. They were very fast in getting approval.
  21. It is different for each insurance / doctor. Mine was approved pending a nutritionist assessment within 1 week. Doctor has to put the package together and submit it and then the insurance has to review it. It took about 1 more week after the approval for the approval letter to actually get to the doctor's office.
  22. I have not taken any diabeties medicines since I went into the surgery for lapband. I was taking 2 shots a day of lantus and 2 shots a day of byetta. I was taking 2 1 Gram metamorpine tables a day, 1 glipiczde XL, 1 liprosil, and 1 Tricore. I am taking nothing now. I may have to start Tricore back if my test on Friday shows up bad. Now I am taking other things. I am taking a prenatal Vitamin a day, along with 2 tums, and Citrical petite tables along with Biotin.
  23. I have heard that United Healthcare covers it unless your employer has an exclusion. Good luck on your journey. Some insurance companies require a supervised weight loss program and a history of being overweight. If your BMI is less than 40, then you will probably be required to have a co-mobidity. You can call your insurance company and ask them. They can send you the documentation on WLS.
