If you change surgeons, I am pretty sure that you have to go through the approval process again.

I get my fill today!
I had my 1st fill yesterday. I think he put in 2ccs. I can tell a small restriction when I am drinking, so I have to drink slower now. It was really nothing. I prick for the numbing medicine. The injection into the port, there was no feeling. I have 3 days of liquids and then back to the scheduled dietary stuff. I was banded on Feb 6th.

First Fill

All you audiophiles....
I had never heard of them before you mentioned them. I am an old fart at 55. I went to UTUBE and listened to 1 of their tracks and like it. I then went and downloaded the Album and loaded it into my IPOD. I like their music and will listen to them when I am doing my walks or riding my motorcycle. Thanks for the freebee and a new group to listen to.

Lap Band Surgery two weeks before wedding?
I think you are pushing it. I don't think you can consemate the marriage on your wedding night. You need to enjoy the beginning of your marriage and not have this to change the arora of the time.

If BCBS NJ knows that your company is dropping their contract, then you will not get approval in time to have the surgery before the insurance is dropped. Do you know who they may change to?

Submitting all info to insurance tomorrow
I used Dr DeWitt also. I had my surgery on Feb 6th. I really like him and his staff. They have been wonderful. My out of pocket at the hospital was greater than I expected, but that is not Dr DeWitt's fault. I go hopefully for my 1st fill on Feb 19th.

Denied by BCBS IL
I had BCBS-IL until June 2008. My employer switched to Anthem BC of CA. I was approved with no requirement for a supervised weight loss program with Anthem. I am so happy that my employer switched. I hope everything goes well.

Vote for your favorite protein drink!
I love the EAS Rich Dark Chocolate. It is available at Walmart for $4.97 for 4 11 ounce drinks with 17g per carton.

New and scared
My surgery was only 11 days ago, so I am not able to report much about it. It was the right decision for me. It is only a tool. You must be willing to follow strict dietary needs, and exercise to get the benefit from this tool. If you are not committed, then you might think twice. It is the least invasive of the different type of surgeries and can be reversed. I only had a significant amount of pain for 3 days where I had to take my pain medicine. I have not taken any diabetic medicine since the surgery. That has been great.

Banded June 08 and 1st fill was yesterday...
Wow that is a long time before the 1st fill. I guess the doctor saw you losing weight and saw no need for a fill. I just got banded Feb 6, so I have not have a fill yet and do not have any advise for your question. Congratulations on your weight loss and your journey to better health.

cream soups
Doctors have different instructions .. so follow your doctors orders. If something starts causing problems then regress back on the food types.
