  1. I have had the same feeling since Friday night. I had 2 vodka drinks that night and I have had a weird "bubbley" sensation in my stomach since.
  2. mrsezova, I was banded the same day as you and I totally know what you are talking about. I lost 11 pounds that first week, and only 2 since. I was so happy after that first week that I was REALLY feeling bad about the 1 1/2 weeks since. I go for my first fill on Nov 7th, so hopefully that will jump start the losing. Good Luck to you.
  3. At about the end of week one, mine started to itch real bad and I got a red bumpy rash on my chest and stomach. It went away on its own.
  4. I was "put together" with glue two weeks ago. Just fine, Mine started itching a little bit, had to remind myself not to scratch
  5. Sorry, if I would have read closer, it says you are a week out. I was 2 weeks out as of yesterday. Other than that pain, I feel good.
  6. How many days out are you? I have been having pain in my port area the last 3 days or so. I think it is from sitting too long at my desk job. Just seems that everything gets bunched up in my stomach area. I have to get up and walk alot. Even helps just to stand for awhile.
  7. I had sex on day 5. I agree with Karen. Nothing crazy.
  8. Congrats! Your nervousness is perfectly normal. I felt the same way when I got my date.
  9. I too am leaving for the hospital in 20 short minutes. I am so ready for this! All of the doubts I have beeen feeling in the last few weeks are all completely gone this morning. Funny, I just know I am doing the right thing. Good Luck with your band and I will talk to you later.
  10. Oh, I feel for you. Unlike you, I have only had those relationships where I was used and not the long term commitment. I wonder if after my surgery (my date is tomorrow) people will look at me different and see me as a worthwhile person to spend time to get to know and not just use for the moment and throw away. I know that I should have had the self confidence to not let anyone treat me that way, but my self worth was just not there.May we both have the strength to "start over".Take Care,Julie
  11. We have the same date! I get my band at 8:30am on the 30th. I am experiencing the same emotions as you. I really wasn't nervous or emotional until I got my exact due date. Then all of a sudden these feelings started rushing in. Good Luck to you, we will both do fine.
  12. Oh my gosh. I would be so mad. You would think that everything would have been taken care of if she told you that you were "good to go." This is a major cost.
  13. Tuesday is my day to get banded as well. I am so excited, yet nervous of course. I started this journey in early June, so my road has not been too long. Insurance won't cover me, so I am self paying. This website has been so imformative and supportive since I found it. Good Luck and if you need anything, let me know.
  14. I am so happy for you. Good Luck, I am sure everything will go well. Your new life begins today. Take Care!
  15. I get banded the morning after you. I am so excited and ready. We are almost there. Good Luck!
  16. My insurance required a 5 year history with monthly check ins with my primary doctor. I just could not imagine waiting another 5 years, so I decided to self pay.
  17. Good Job ! Keep up the good work!
  18. Absolutely, that would be great ladybug1972. I think I figured out and added you to my friend list. Just go into your edit profile and on the left hand side, it says something like "edit friends & contacts". Just type my JUKU in their and click on the "add to friends" button. I will definitely appreciate the support and will try my best to return the favor. I am 31, single and live in a very very small town called Humboldt SD. Hope to hear from you soon.
  19. WOW! What a month for you, you should be proud of yourself. It is just the beginning of a whole new life for you. I hope I can say the same a month after I am banded. My surgery is coming up on the 30th.Keep up the good work!
  20. We will be banded around the same time. Mine is scheduled for Sept 30th. I truely know what you mean about it being "real" now. When I sat down with the nurse on Friday the 12th to pick a date, I was instantly struck with so many emotions. Nervous, Scared, Excited. But this is definitly the right choice. Good Luck to you!
  21. I get banded 2 weeks from today on the 30th. These are great suggestions. I appreciate them, keep them coming!
  22. Congrats. My preop is Sept 17th and surgery is Sept 30th. This is what I have been waiting for but all of a sudden I am nervous and emotional, but I am looking forward to starting my new life.
  23. I am self paying but haven't had surgery yet. I was told that the hospital portion $12,000 was due the morning of surgery and the rest (surgeon & anesthia) could be made by payments.
  24. Thank you so much for the words of encouragement. I am at the stage of my 2nd consultation with the surgeon. I go Friday Sept 12th. I already had my tests done and had it submitted to insurance and received a rejection letter because I haven't been on a physician supervised weight loss program for 5 years with monthly check ins with my dr. When you think about it, it would be 60 monthly copays of $20. So there is $1200 I could put towards self paying now. So, that is what I am planning on doing. I am lucky to have a savings put away, so I am going to do this for Me. Right now, I am scared and anxious but definitly excited to start a new beginning.
