  1. Hey girlie. I've been banded for almost 3 years now...and honestly this is considered normal for me. I never can drink liquids in the morning, and usually they aren't 'heavy' enough to go down without some food. I'm very tight in the morning anyway. So I usually just eat something semi mushi/easy to eat in the morning and liquids are fine...Been like this for me for as long as I can remember, and I'm not 'too tight'.
  2. heyyy thanks everybody!!! the egd test concluded i don't have an erosion!!! YAYYYY i just need to wait and take the fills easier well do fluro sometime this week! thanks everyone for thinking about me. i hope everyone is doing great.
  3. well i guess no one had any insight for me. i went to the doctor today, spoke with the fill nurse about my dilemma. haven't been able to drink water for the past 3 days...told her about my throwing up dark brown acid tasting fluid...reflux in the middle of the night. she spoke with the dr, and he said i need to come in tommorrow morning for an emergency EGD scope test. he thinks i might have erosion . he prescribed be cerafate suspension ($260), and protonix($162). my appointment today cost $200, and the egd is gonna be over $1000. i was self pay, and i still don't have insurance. i'm a single college kid with 2 jobs. this is turning out to be the worst news ever! i hope i am not eroded...she took out all of my fluid today, i'm completely open...which is nice to be able to drink. i just can't afford a removal surgery. i hope this all works out.
  4. hey guys. i've been having a very sharp pain when swallowing or breathing in deeply. i'm not stuck, it's been like this for 2 days. anyone have any idea? slippage? its keeping me awake at night as well...
  5. same thing here....for the last 5 days i have been trial and error on what i can tolerate. VERY different from what i could tolerate last week....
  6. i'm a size 16 now...size 13 dress. and i am far, far more confident. the confidence is picked up and i am approached more and more.
  7. whoaaa! you have great progess, lost a lot more than me and definitely have a healthy BMI! you are doing great! i think being tall... i'm 5'10" helps my loss even out a little. good job mimilou!
  8. thanks  thank you so much. feeling much better.
  9. hello everyone! i haven't been on here in a very long time but i wanted to check in! i was banded 10-7-08, and my weight was 265 day of surgery. i am now at 219, and feeling much healthier. a little slow, but definitely in the right direction! everyone looks great! keep up the good work!!
  10. yeah, that's what i'm made to do right after a fill, and i gulped it down fine...it just got more "swollen" or "tight" a day after...i think you all were right. i'm able to drink..just very slooowly. i ate some malt o meal and it went down fine. ill just give it some more time. thank you!!
  11. thanks..i think i'll do that. i'll cancel my unfill appt...i think this swelling will go down.
  12. Just had my third fill yesterday, and noticed a little pain when drinking. I have had zero restriction up until now, and to drink liquids I need to go very slow. I was up most the night with tightness and gas moving around my band...But I've also had a bronchitis for the past week. What do you think? Taking the two hour voyage back to the hospital to get unfilled, or wait to see if it evens out? I have 5cc in my 10cc band, and I'm self pay which means I have one more free fill until I have to start paying for them.
  13. i feel as though i healed very quickly, and was back to "normal" after the first week. i never had restriction, never have had anything get stuck...so i feel like i have no band at all. managed to shed about 14 pounds just on will power. my 1st fill is Nov 20th.
  14. agreed, i exude happiness! it's leaking from my pores i'm glad you are so happy!
