water gets stuck, food doesnt?
Hey girlie. I've been banded for almost 3 years now...and honestly this is considered normal for me. I never can drink liquids in the morning, and usually they aren't 'heavy' enough to go down without some food. I'm very tight in the morning anyway. So I usually just eat something semi mushi/easy to eat in the morning and liquids are fine...Been like this for me for as long as I can remember, and I'm not 'too tight'.

Sharp Pain when swallowing....Not stuck.
well i guess no one had any insight for me. i went to the doctor today, spoke with the fill nurse about my dilemma. haven't been able to drink water for the past 3 days...told her about my throwing up dark brown acid tasting fluid...reflux in the middle of the night. she spoke with the dr, and he said i need to come in tommorrow morning for an emergency EGD scope test. he thinks i might have erosion . he prescribed be cerafate suspension ($260), and protonix($162). my appointment today cost $200, and the egd is gonna be over $1000. i was self pay, and i still don't have insurance. i'm a single college kid with 2 jobs. this is turning out to be the worst news ever! i hope i am not eroded...she took out all of my fluid today, i'm completely open...which is nice to be able to drink. i just can't afford a removal surgery. i hope this all works out.

Am I too tight?
Just had my third fill yesterday, and noticed a little pain when drinking. I have had zero restriction up until now, and to drink liquids I need to go very slow. I was up most the night with tightness and gas moving around my band...But I've also had a bronchitis for the past week. What do you think? Taking the two hour voyage back to the hospital to get unfilled, or wait to see if it evens out? I have 5cc in my 10cc band, and I'm self pay which means I have one more free fill until I have to start paying for them.

Restriction following surgery???
i feel as though i healed very quickly, and was back to "normal" after the first week. i never had restriction, never have had anything get stuck...so i feel like i have no band at all. managed to shed about 14 pounds just on will power. my 1st fill is Nov 20th.

Anyone else have people notice how happy they are after surgery?
agreed, i exude happiness! it's leaking from my pores i'm glad you are so happy!

Any October Bandsters!??!?!
my surgeon said eating mashed potatoes and other higher calorie foods are okay when you are in the healing stages. on my soft food list aka (food you can cut with a fork): -soft baked meats -canned tuna, chicken, salmon -cottage cheese -low fat cheeses -eggs -refried beans -grits -casseroles -canned fruit no syrup -no sugar added applesauce -canned cooked veggies -malt o meal! my favorite

Lump that isn't Port
hello everyone :grouphug: i was banded on oct 7th, so i'm 2 weeks out today. i have healed well and i'm feeling great. i can feel my little port which is about two inches up, and to the right of my belly button (right under my largest incision, naturally)... i get that...but about two inches up and to the right of my port...i feel a much larger 'bump' (almost feels like a swollen muscle or something)..just wondering if this is normal for lap band? i was thinking it might be my stomach or something, but i think the stomach is more to the left. it doesn't hurt at all, and i've had no problems whatsoever...my appt for my first fill is november 18th, so ill definitely ask then..but just wondering if any of you could had something similiar and already found the answer.

Hey everyone! I'm a week post Op, and doing great. Ten pounds down today!! I'm starting to get a little hungry, but overall it's not so bad. Going back in 3 days to get staples removed, but other than that everything is running smoothly! happy to be on the other side of the fence! hope everyone is doing great!
