  1. I had my 1st fill three weeks ago and I don't have much restriction if any. BUT I really think I just like to EAT. Even when I feel full I just want to eat -- I am learning (I think that this is much more of a head game than I even want to admit!) I just don't know if the band is working for me at all. Does getting SICK stop you guys from eating? I go back to the dr. tomorrow -- we'll see... I am getting very discouraged. I have lost 20" since I started the pre-op... nothing since T-giving...
  2. No -- my husband works for Dell. I got home around 5 that day and I was really out of it. Have you lost any more? I am STUCK at 20 lbs. BUT made it through T-giving and my cycle w/o gaining :-) I get my first fill on Monday. I was on mushies at T-giving and EVERY MUSHY has about a million calories -- e.g. sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, dressing. At this point I seriously can't tell I have a band. Hopefully the first fill will help out :-) I will let you know what to expect.
  3. I was also banded on 11/14 at Williamson County with Dr. Marquez!!! We were probably across the hall from each other. I too am hungry and I have my first fill on Monday :-) I want the bad to start helping me out here :-) I had no issues with the surgery or recovery. If I didn't KNOW I had surgery I wouldn't know anything was different. I am almost on a regular diet now -- how about you?

When were you guys banded? I was on 11/14 and I am now so very hungry. I feel no restriction and I think if I let myself I could eat EXACTLY like I did before surgery.
  5. Mine is under my right breast -- just under my ribcage. My incisions are at least 4 - 5 inches away from the port...
  6. I also have a ROWDY 36 lb. 2-year old. I showed him my incisions and said Momma -owwie! So every time he wanted to jump on my lap I just repeated that and it seemed to distract him and slow him down a bit... Also, I was "coaching" him on getting into our SUV about 2 weeks before my surgery, I just have to lean over to buckle him which is not so bad. Try to stock up on groceries because lifting him into the grocery cart was an unanticipated issue. I quickly scouted out the little car that he could just climb into. Good luck...
  7. Just gnaw on your left arm --- it has lots of protein :-) haha... I am on full liquids right now too and have felt that the hunger pains have been as bad or worse than the surgery... I have found that the Atkins chocolate shakes and the Carnation Instant breakfast have been REALLY helpful to me. It just kind of staves off that hunger a bit. Good luck :-) YOU CAN DO IT!!!!:thumbup:
  8. Guys I was banded last Friday-- the 14th and I REALLY think that my PAIN after day 3 -4 has been HUNGER... I swearI could gnaw my arm off @#$$ Of course I am sore from the incisions but I have had a hard time with the no food -- less food is fine but no food has been hard....
  9. Thanks for responding so quickly -- I think I am a freak over-thinking everything. I was just feeling hunger PAINS -- which has been a BRAND NEW sensation for me. The blended soups at least give a bit of satisfaction. Take care and thanks again... stacyiam
  10. Sugar-free carnation instant breakfast...
  11. Ok - you guys are making me think -- my dr. said cream soups so I have been making soup and then blending the H*LL out of it with my blender so that there are NO lumps. Is this cheating? The canned soups just make me gag -- I am so sick of them. I haven't had any REAL solids although my family has ordered pizza 2X --since I am not cooking. I really don't think that soup is cheating - right? Maybe I am just asking for approval :-) thanks to you all -- stacy
  12. Find another doc! Maybe someone else in the practice but better to go elsewhere. Maybe start with your family doctor -- at least find someone who will listen to you :-) good luck...
  13. Wow! I loved your story -- makes me have hope for myself :-)
  14. I am being banded this coming Friday -- I have already joined a marathon training program. I have lost 10 lbs. but get so down because I am ALWAYS last -- and I know in my head that it is NOT a race but my competitive side tells me differently. I LOVE LOVE LOVE your comment about the first and last TRIATHLETE. I just gotta keep on truckin'. Thanks for the inspirational words!
  15. 11/14 in Austin with Nancy Marquez...
  16. I will be mid-November. My final surgeon appointment is November 3.
  17. I am APPROVED by Humana!!!! I had my psych testing today and go for the pre-op stuff on the 27th! I am nervous but excited :-)
  18. OH PLEASE!!! It is obvious! No, you don't look like Twiggy but there is a big difference. And --- I agree, go buy some clothes that FIT! :-) Just a few cause you're still losing :-) Congratulations and sometimes others can see what you can't ...
  19. Thanks for the note -- it is nice to be REMEMBERED :-) I had my psych initial and I should go for the testing next week. I haven't heard from my insurance yet -- so I am still WAITING. I am anxious, nervous, happy, scared... hopeful! I just wish I was already 6 months down the road. I will keep you posted on my progress :-)
  20. Hey I am currently involved with Austin Fit -- a marathon training program. Saturday morning I did 7 miles. I haven't been banded YET but I am hopeful it will be soon. I thought no time better than the present, hopefully it will help my recovery and the journey will be a bit easier since I have already started exercising :-) stacyiam
  21. Congrats! I am just almost there I have a few more appts. I am in Round Rock with Dr. Marquez. Good luck!!!
  22. I am in williamson co. -- round rock. I am just beginning the journey I have my psych eval and nutrition to go... I am 39 y.o. and have 3 kids, a doxie, a kitty and 3 hermit crabs:tongue_smilie:
  23. Not yet -- I still have psych eval & nutrition consult. I got a 'bye" on the exercise since I am currently doing a marathon training program. Hope fully I will hear something next week.
  24. That is really interesting -- he seems to be a pioneer in the field. I am still sticking with Marquez -- because I like her! I feel very comfortable conveying my concerns and questions to her. Also, I have NEVER EVER worn a bikini so I don't suppose the scars will matter much to me :-) I hated to hear about your sis -- it reminds me that there are downsides to everything. I do hope her health has stabilized.
  25. IS this an all liquid diet? My hubby doubts I can do it if it is all liquid (I know I WILL if I have to) so y our insight is very helpful.
