Anyone else extremely nervous???
It's funny, well not really, but I have seriously thought about writing letters to all my family members and friends, just in case something is to happen. To say my good bye's and I love you's, and all that good stuff. But then agian I am affraid that I will infact discourage myself in some way, and maybe it sounds a little crazy but, I'm affraid I will some how "JINKS" myself. I'm trying to stay positive.

Post Your Rant About the Infomercials for Weightloss Products!
What I noticed is that they always seem to show pictures of women who have just had a baby. For the "Marketers" to think that no one would notice something like that, is a little insulting.:mmph:

Anyone else extremely nervous???
I am scheduled for surgery on Jan. 29th, and the closer it gets the more nervous and anxious I get from time to time. I am more nervous about the surgery itself. Hoping it will be a success with no complications, and most of all that I wake up. Because lets face it, I want to live, thats why I am doing this.

Is it detrimental to...
All the info I have heard and read says you should not smoke before or after surgery. But, I would of course ask your doc. Good luck!
-
what to eat
The info I found says that mushies (pureed foods), even if it is a soft food is supposed to be cooked to a soft texture than placed in a blender or food processor, add a liquid (such as: fortified milk, milk, broth or bouillon), and blend or process. If a preed food is put on a plate it should not spread out completely. Soft solids are soft foods that don't need to be ran through a blender or processor to be tolerated. I really hope that helps you.

That is great!!:whoo: :gluck: I wish you all the luck in the world!! My surgery is coming up really quick, well at least it seems that way because I have been waiting for soooo long!- pre op diet
Yeah, that whole "last supper" thing seems to set people up for failure. It leads to one meal, than another, than another.... :faint: Well we all get the point (unfortunately).- Any tips for loose skin
- Weight-loss surgery proves fatal for driver
The last thing I want to do is offend anyone, but I'm sorry to say to this thread has definately taken a wrong turn somewhere. It's like "Beating a dead horse.":deadhorse:- Weight-loss surgery proves fatal for driver
From what I have read and been told by my doctor, it is best to not have any alcohol for at least a year after LB surgery. As far as after the year mark, I don't know. But I guess it would be in moderation, as with everything else!:heh: Good luck to you!!- Weight-loss surgery proves fatal for driver
Yeah!! What's worse, is when people refer to it as "The EASY way out":angry- Weight-loss surgery proves fatal for driver
I am curious also. Please post the diet you followed!! I would really appreciate it! Thank you!!- Feeling Discouraged..... :(
I agree! Keep in mind that as women our weight fluctuates on a daily basis, depending on the time of day, and especially the time of month. So just keep that in mind. Don't beat yourself up over every pound, it will come off eventually as long as you do what you are supposed to. Good luck to you!!:clap2:- Is the port site painful when pressing on it?
I just read thru a thread that asked people who are at their goal weight, how noticable their port is. What I want to know is, is it painful when you press on it, or bump it, or when you wear certain clothing?- Best 0 calorie/low calorie foods?
I LOVE Chai tea! :lick :thumb: :hail: Thank you for that idea, I can't wait to try it!!- noisy band
LOL!! Man, this whole loud gurgling thing is starting to bumb me out.:faint: I'm going to be soo imbarassed the first time it happens to me in front of someone. I get imabrassed now when my stomach makes noises, I can't imagine that happening every time I eat or drink. :omg:- Any tips for loose skin
First of all, I'm sorry to hear that you went through that. (Unfortunately, I just lost my grandfather to cancer.):think I agree that being well hydrated plays a huge role in the elasticity of the skin. I also heard that it may depend on your age and on how long you have been overweight. Also on how fast or slow you lose the weight. The fact that you lose weight slower with the band than with the bypass is one of the reasons why I chose the band over the other. I'm okay with the slower weight lose, as long as it means that I have a greater chance to lose any excess skin. - New Year with new band
