  1. I am not sure. You might try Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga. I know that they have a lap band program. You could also try Dr. Jaime Ponce at the gastric band institute. The number is (423)899-1000. I go there, but am unsure if they handle patients banded somewhere else. Good luck!
  2. luluc-I thought I saw in a thread somewhere that you sometimes have a protein shake when you work out extra hard. Do you drink that before you work out, or after?
  3. LMAO at all of you!
  4. I'm glad that you are doing ok. Just keep sipping some fluids to keep you hydrated.
  5. I just talked about this in another thread! LMAO! I can't see my weight loss, but my boobs said bye-bye? Heck, I can't change pants size, but I had to take a link out of my watch! Apparently, according to my body, I only had extra weight on my wrists and boobs. Who knew?
  6. Teri, I hope the fact that we haven't heard from you is because you feel so much better that you are out doing something with your kids. Not that you feel worse than you did. Check in when you have a chance. I hope you are feeling better and just out.
  7. I agree with Debbie. The least they can do is numb your skin. I hope that it goes or has gone better today.
  8. True, but this thread hasn't gone even a day(heck not even an hour:biggrin:) without someone posting on it. SNT, woohoo on the weight loss.
  9. Is it just me, or are a lot of really old threads being brought to the top? I have almost posted in threads that hadn't had a post since like the beginning of the year or even last year because someone has gone in to answer a year old question.
  10. I always forget about the time difference. Sorry, good evening then. Obviously not.
  11. PJTP- Good morning everyone!
  12. You are a brave, brave woman.
  13. Welcome! I was banded a few days after you. It's good that you are losing weight well. I would talk to your doctor about when is a good time for another fill. My doctor has me scheduled for another fill the week before Thanksgiving. I could have chosen the week after, but why wait? Either I can't eat everything this year, or next. Might as well, start now. Good luck decided when to have that fill.
  14. Get some immodium. Also, there is an over the counter medicine (I think its called emitrol) that can help with the nausea until maybe you can get a prescription for zofran. I hope you feel better soon!
  15. I won't fuss. I am having my 2nd fill the week before Thanksgiving. I could have scheduled it for the week after and still been able to eat everything. I decided that I needed to proceed as I plan to live, so I plan to not eat at the large family gathering where everyone will be watching to see what I eat. Instead, I will eat with my DH and son. That way, if something doesn't agree, I am at home with my own toilet. (I know, TMI)
  16. I am lucky in that my doctor does the fills under fluro in his office. Basically what they do is similar to having an upper GI. You drink a small amount of barium while they look at your band. Then you sip some water while they tighten the band. It's pretty cool to see.
  17. Walking really helps with the gas. Also, your biggest incision is probably your port. Good luck on your journey!
  18. I live in Tennessee. Hi my name is slim and I am a scale addict.
  19. You are making some major changes in your life. You have a right to be stressed. Just keep you mind on making it through the actual move. The rest of it will come in time. Once you are in your new place, sleeping in your own bed, things will calm. I wish you the best.
  20. Wow! All of you are doing so well! I think you all are an inspiration to us only in the beginning stages! Keep up the awesome job! I was apparently in denial about what size I wore. Now my size 20 pants are fitting the way that I THOUGHT they fit before. They are loose, but not loose enough to go down in size just yet. It's getting there!
  21. I agree with snowbird. Also, during my evaluation, they said that they are also trying to make sure that you don't have an underlying eating disorder like binge eating that the band won't conquer.
  22. Could you have him come hide my scale? I am sure if HE hides, I won't find it.
  23. I will try the protein drink. Something has to give on this. I can't get another fill for a month. I don't want to gain weight during that time, so I am using all of my will power (which if it was a lot of will power, I wouldn't be fat) to not choose the wrong things. ugg. I knew this was going to be hard work, but dag!
  24. luluc-I have had a fill. I THINK I can tell a difference, just not much of one. I eat about a cup of food in one sitting, but after about an hour, I am hungry. I don't mean head hunger. I mean stomach grumbling with hunger pains. I have been trying to drink something when I feel it in hopes of stopping the awful feeling.
