Hope everyone is okay -
At this point, I can still do most chicken (except dry chicken breast). I haven't really had a problem with gas since right after surgery. That could be IBS or maybe taking in too much air while you eat? As far as your adjustments, I understand that even the tiny increments can make a difference once you have hit restriction. Also, I understand that most of the bands can hold a little more than the advertised amounts. I would think you should be ok.

March... our 6 month bandiversary... where are we now?
I think the blood sugar plays a big part in how well we lose. Just don't give up. 23 pounds down is way better than the alternative. Don't be hard on yourself. Stay strong.

Expectations of the band
I had the same situation. I had reasonable expectations going in (I think). I didn't even know that there were forums devoted to the surgery until after I had started the process for approval. I started reading about the weight other people were losing and got so excited! I think I got into the hype of thinking I could lose that fast too. Of course, reality hit after surgery. I am proud of my weight loss, but I did go through the doubting stage when my weight loss wasn't on par with what I was reading. I had to come to my own realization that this isn't a race. We are all trying to reach the same goal (healthier/smaller bodies). It just may take me longer than others. I don't mind that. I am healthier now than I have been in years. I no longer have problems with high blood sugar. My blood pressure is normal. I don't regret my decision to get my band at all.

Stop feeling bad about that. You have no reason to feel bad. Morning everyone.

I'm so sorry for your friend. When you hear news like that, it makes the things we think are bad seem so trivial. I will be thinking of you (for strength) and your friend (for a good prognosis for her DH and strength). You do need to get that unfill, if the stress is keeping you from nurishing your body. You will need your strength.

Wow, it sure is quiet in here this weekend. I hope that means that everyone is out having a wonderful weekend. I, on the other hand, have spent a very lazy weekend around the house. I sent the boys (DH and DS) on a boys night out last night. They went to see WWE. I had the house to my self. Wow, it was so nice. They had fun and so did I.

True? Divorce after WLS within 3 years? Why?
Thanks Tap. I am trying.

True? Divorce after WLS within 3 years? Why?
That is exactly how I feel. I know it's for the best to let the relationship go, but at the same time, I can no longer imagine myself without him. I know that my relationship with him doesn't define who I am, but he has been a major part of my adult life. I hope that you both are able to work out something (whether that be separation or counseling to stay together). In the mean time, take care of you.

You don't sound whiny, G4E. You sound frustrated, and I don't blame you one bit. Is there a way to ask why they only seem to want place you in that factory without upsetting them? It just doesn't seem right. Is there another temp agency you can visit? I hope that you are able to find something soon. I also hope that your family situation works out for the best. Your DD and grandchildren deserve better than that SIL. Morning everyone!

That was so mean, Beth. You were so caring about Susan's plight, but you make jokes about mine. Thanks.

True? Divorce after WLS within 3 years? Why?
It is a very scary thought Susan. I don't know what to do. I can't continue being unhappy, but I am so scared of what that really means to my marriage, family, and life. We have been together for 13 years and before surgery, I guess I was oblivious to things around me. Now, I am so much more self aware. I am not putting up with things the way that I had. How I am starting to feel towards him shows. For years, I was the one putting forth the effort to keep our relationship together. Now, I can't honestly say that I care one way or the other. That is a sad state to be in about the person that you thought you loved.

I know your post was to someone else, but it seemed like you were talking to me with this. I am currently going through this in my marriage. I keep trying to see whatever it was that made me get married (other than stupidity). I can't find it. We argue constantly. Don't get me wrong. He loves my weightloss. He even seems to be trying to act better because he seems to realize that I don't have to "settle" for him anymore. I haven't made an attempt to end the marriage, but the thought has crossed my mind more than once. I am hoping that some redeeming quality of his will come forward to give me reason to stay.

Anyone else NOT a fitness overachiever?!
I admit it. I haven't been exercising. I have been feeling like such a loser (and not in a good way). I need a fill. I was supposed to have it Thursday, but my sinuses have been in awful shape. I was scared to get a fill with that going on. I have gained and lost the same 5 pounds for the past month. I am so frustrated that it is beyond belief. I know that the band is a tool. I know I have to work at it, but dang, I would like to feel like I am not on a diet for at least once!
