  1. Ebony/Beth-I agree with everything that has been said. I am right there with both of you with the insecurity. I finally made another appointment with my therapist. She deals primarily with eating disorders. I found her in October of last year. I went to the first appointment and never made a second. I finally made another appointment last week. She gave me some papers to bring home to look over concerning self esteem. We figured out fairly quickly that I truly have low self esteem. I am letting my past (including past with DH) color my future. I am tired of being that woman. Of course, we don't even want to get into the hormonal part of this.:rolleyes2: I allowed myself to be the fat friend/wife/etc. I no longer know my place, and neither does anyone else. I used food to dull the pain of disappointment, loneliness, etc that I don't know how to deal with the emotions that I am feeling. I have snuck back into emotional eating, but it doesn't help since I can't gorge myself. Right now, life sucks. Ok, pity party over (I'm talking to myself here). We can do this! None of us jumped into this weightloss thing lightly. There has to be some inner strength that finally made us wake up. We have just got to find that core of stregnth and nurture it back to good health along with our bodies. We are wonderful women (and men) that deserve healthy, happy lives. We have to shed the old insecurities along with the pounds (I know, easier said that done). We have to pick our own selves up by the boot straps (where did that saying come from anyway:confused:).
  2. Ebony-so sorry that you are going through pain right now. To give him the benefit of the doubt, maybe he is changing what he says he likes to match where he sees you going? That way you won't feel like he doesn't like the "new" you? I know the feeling of betrayal is a b*tch. I hope that you are able to come to a conclusion that allows you to move beyond the bad feelings. Many ((((hugs)))).
  3. Morning everyone (evening to Fanny)! I hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday!
  4. My doc says that they are ok in moderation after a year. Even then, he said that you should pour it over ice and let it go flat. That defeats the purpose of drinking a soda. I have also heard about the extreme pain from the gas bubbles. It just doesn't sound worth it to me. I do miss them though.
  5. I am addicted to my scale, and I noticed the same thing! It continues to blow my mind that the scale would show me weighing more after using the bathroom.
  6. Way to go Ebony! I know that had to feel great to get into a smaller size! Also, I will be keeping you in my thoughts while they make up their mind on the job front! Congrats again!
  7. Thanks for posting this. I had never heard of any of them. I just looked online at the skechers and the MBT shoes. I had been contemplating the rebok shoes with the little balance ball in the sole of the shoe. I think I like the idea of the skecher or the MBT better. Thanks again!
  8. That sounds so good! I do not need to go to the liquor store tonight.
  9. I could use a silly friday. Bring it on!
  10. Tramps and lushes, I just love the PJTP thread. :-)
  11. I just read that about his death.
  12. Sorry to hear about the deaths, Kat817. I am glad that you and DH were able to get some time to yourselves though. I didn't get the email about the contest, but I have already provided all of the information that I am willing to share in such a forum, so I won't be changing anything in my profile.
  13. I know that there is no way I could say it any better than the way that Ebony did. I won't even try. I agree with all that she said. You are among friends here. If you can't vent to your friends, who can you go to?
  14. Beth-I can only say don't listen to your mom. I think that you have proven that you can do it. If it is what you want, don't let her or anyone else persuade you to do otherwise. You deserve all of the good things in life that you want so if going to school full time will help you to achieve those goals, then screw what anyone else has to say about it. Morning everyone!
  15. Thanks plain. :thumbup::lol:
  16. Why do you think i was cutting off my head? I cannot believe my hair! :-)
  17. There is no way I could ever look like that!
  18. Apparently, my mother was reading my mind about what I thought I looked like when I was younger. She just brought me a picture from when I had to be about 15. I couldn't weigh more than 110. I look like a stick with no boobs!
  19. I tell you, if I ever get to your weight, I will dance around my house nekkid for days!
  20. Sorry, I was typing from my iPhone. I can't type on those little things. I am no where near 5 foot 6. I am 5 foot 1.5 inches. The sad part is, I claimed I was 5'4" for years. The nurse at my doctor's office just laughed and made me get measured. It was funny to find out I was no where near as tall as I thought. I am just a little taller. I have always had lots of extra padding around my hips and butt, so even when I was slim, I had to wear larger pants to fit my butt. I wore small tops and 6 pants. I doubt I will ever get there again. At this point, I still weigh more than I did the day before I gave birth!:smile2: I just don't see me ever being 110 pounds.
  21. Hi BBK! I wonder too. She put me at 110 pounds as a goal. That like a skeleton with boobs! I am 5 1/2. I know I am not the tallest, but 110 just seems too slim. Basically what I did. I weighed about 115 when I graduated high school. I added about 10 pounds to that for my age (even though I can't fathom actually getting to 125). I totally agree! Hopefully, Murphy's Law will leave you alone! Morning everyone!
  22. Random pjtp-I went to the doctor today(gp). There was a stand in doctor(not sure where my normal doctor was today). The stand in doctor basically told me that i need to lose more weight for my height than i planned. She basically added about 15 more pounds needed to get me to the correct weight. Did any of your doctors give you a weight to shoot for? My surgeon didn't give me a goal weight and neither did my regular GP.
  23. G4E- i am so sorry you are going thru so much. Do you have any progams near you that help with rx when you are having difficulty paying? I know here, there is a program that is paid for by the drug companies. Heartfire-i know that fingernail hurts like heck. I have only done that once, but it was enough. Ebony-sorry to hear about your friend. Why exactly did having the gastic bypass cause them to have to open surgery? I am confused (not that it takes much). Ebony/Beth-any day now you both will be telling us about your new jobs. Fanny-sorry about the job and the home sell. I am sure the job situation will be better once you really get into it. Luluc-i had my home loan approval before i ever went looking, too. I didn't want to look for more house than i knew i was going to be able to get. Snakes-hate them all
